Before booking Rev's place, I read through most of the reviews and was overwhelmed by all the positive feedback. I expected a lot going in. I'm happy to say that Rev exceeded my expectations, he's one of the kindest people I've met EVER. He provides snacks and drinks for his visitors, checks with you first if he's going to use the bathroom for a shower, and provided great tips on places to eat and shop close by. I look forward to staying at Rev's place again, but wouldn't be surprised if his place is overbooked due to his amazing hospitality. Thanks Rev for a great stay!
This is the second time I stayed at Rev's place. My experience was very similar to my first stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The internet connection was great! I look forward to my next stay.
Furthermore, my flight was delayed and I was late getting to Rev's place. He was very gracious and understanding. I appreciated that after a 16hr flight.
I enjoyed my stay with Rev in his 'little abode'. Rev is a nice guy and I appreciated the extra touches he includes with the room (e.g. kettle, chocolates). The apartment is clean and quiet and I was glad to return to such a place after being out and about in LA all day. The surrounding area feels safe enough to walk around on my own (as a single female) after dark and has plenty of food outlets to choose from. Journey times on public transport can be around 1.5 hours to Hollywood, Beverley Hills and Santa Monica.
It was a great stay! Rev's house was nice decorated, clean and cozy. Me and my fiancé stayed in Rev's apartment during our house hunting trip. Nice stay and friendly host. Totally recommend.
Rev was nice and kind. He was waiting for us when we arrived a little late as planned. The location and the neighborhood was good, with a space to park the car. The apartment was charming, nice decoration. The bedroom was good for the price. It would be better with a TV, in my opinion. The things that he had for us to prepare our own breakfast was perfect. The connection WiFi was excellent. The only thing We did not like was the toilet bowl. Maybe it was clean, but it looked a little stained, tanning or something like that. Definitely any guest needs to request for towels as we did. Overall We recommend this host and his place.
Hi Glenys and Gerard, thank you for the feedback. I wish I could have left a more honest review on yours too especially I found food stains on the bed sheet; however, I let this slipped off the review. The apartment price is one of the best deals you could find in Los Angeles and I mostly focus on low-budget travelers. Once again, I'm sorry that the apartment did not meet you and your husband's expectation.
Rev is a good and clean guy, i have some problem with my schedule, but when i arrived Rev is there. I lost her Keys (sorry) , but he dont make this a problem. The location is good , good access for food and shopping , he had a parking spot , this help me a lot. Kitchen is very good and many options for breakfast!!
Rev was a great host! He was helpful with directions and bus lines. The apartment was clean and true to the ad. Rev also provided me with an umbrella when it rained and macaroons when I left. Rev is a thoughtful host that I would definitely book with again.
I had a pleasant stay with Rév while I was in LA, he was very accommodating when my travel plans changed close to the reservation. The apartment is very well managed and Rév has everything laid out and labelled for ease of use. I recommend staying here.
Rev is the nicest and real accommodating! I was able to take care of my stay last minute and Rev was right there waiting when I arrived. His place is real clean as well, exactly as advertised. I would definitely stay with Rev again!
Overall, it was a good experience. Rev was hospitable. He let me know when he'd be out. And we were able to come to a good working arrangement regarding using the bathroom in the morning. He kindly gave me some fancy/tasty macaroons upon my departure, which were so delicately prepared and wrapped. They were so interesting and tasty; much luck with that side business! BTW, Rev looks diff. than his photo. :-) Not that either are bad, but he looks more slender in person.
In the beginning, there was a minor hiccup w/ getting a towel, as Rev came home later than anticipated; I gave early morning notice of needing one, but perhaps I should have let him know the night before. I used a t-shirt in lieu of a towel that night. Also, it was a new experience how I was to go about getting the apartment key, as Rev was away when I came to check-in. I was worried that I wouldn't find it or it might be missing, but it worked out.
The apartment has things labeled in the kitchen, which was really helpful. There's a water container that gives instant hot or cold spring water; that was a favorite. Rev has some snacks and tea drinks on hand; he even bought croissants because I had mentioned that I had liked them.
The room itself is as pictured. The bed was on the floor. (It didn't have a mattress protector, and I prefer those for being sanitary.) There's all the info. that you need in the room; local eats, TAP cards for transport; wifi info. There's also a fan and a space heater. The heater came in handy on cold nights, because the window is made of panels that always allow some small amount of air in, even when closed. The noise was pretty decent; only a couple times were people outside the apartment a little noisy.
The location is great for local shops, eateries and walking around. Mainly, the community college there is a great safe place to walk around, as it's landscaped and you can go there to use the library and cafeteria if needed. One of my favorite things was that Daiso was just down the street! Love that store; but I don't love that they make beauty cream from horses. Eck.
I was able to walk to the Metro Gold Line Atlantic station in 15-18min. So this was great. The bus can take you there too, but I found that it didn't often make a difference with timing. Either sit and wait for the bus or walk it and arrive at the station at the same time. But for females, I don't recommend walking to/from the train station at night, although you'd probably be ok. Also note, the Montebello buses run on a different system, not the Los Angeles Metro system, so if you board the #10 Montebello to/from the train station, be prepared to pay a separate fare.
