  • Wonderful place to stay while visiting Paris.Charming and convenient close to the Latin Quarter with its neighborood adjacent to sites such as Notre-Dame and the Sorbonne.
The apartment.had everything we needed including an elevator, a towel warmer a fixed phone and the vogue of France a nespresso.
The host Jean-Louis made our stay very easy. The communication was always fast, he welcomed me very late , left a very well stocked kitchen, a bottle of wine and some cookies.would definitely stay there again.Thank you Jean-Louis

  • Jean-Louis could have not been any nicer or more welcoming. He left the well-outfitted kitchen supplied with more than just basic groceries. There was enough for breakfast, snacks, some wine, plenty of coffee, etc. Really the most generous supply of "starter groceries" I have encountered in any rental apartment in 20 years.

The apartment itself is clean and comfortable. I have issues with too-hard mattresses and was very comfortable and slept exceedingly well. My daughter slept on the fold out sofa, which we left out everyday and there was still plenty of room to navigate around the apartment. Kitchen was of a very high standard, both aesthetically and functionally, as rental kitchens go. The bathroom was a bit small and the bathtub a bit precarious, but even with a bad knee, I was able to manage just fine.

The apartment is inside a courtyard and very isolated from road noise, which is nice. The neighbors around you are living their lives and you do hear them. This is not a 5-star, silent-as-the-grave hotel room, but rather an opportunity to feel like a part of real life in Paris. I always sleep with earplugs anyway and we were up late, so bedtime noise was never an issue. There was some noise from the kids next door in the mornings, so if you are a light sleeper and like to sleep late, bring your earplugs.

One of the main reasons for selecting this apartment was the elevator. With a knee injury, I just didn't know how I would be feeling physically. What a blessing to come home to a modern, reliable elevator at the end of each long day!

The other reason for staying here was the location. Away from the tourist hubbub, but still so convenient to Mouffetard and the joys of the Quartier Latin, as well at Le Marais a short walk away.... We loved having the Isle St. Louis as our "thoroughfare" many days. For a quick trip out to Burgundy, the Gare de Lyon was only minutes away by bus or taxi. And the busses running up and down the Boulevard were very convenient.

There were plenty of good-to-great restaurants within a short walk. We took Jean-Louis' advice on several of them and were very pleased. Our very favorite meal of the entire stay (and NOT the most expensive) was Terroir Parisian. What a fabulous dinner...great food, service, decor. A superb recommendation!

At the end of our stay Jean-Louis walked several blocks to find us a taxi to take us to the airport. At the end of 10 exciting and exhausting days, this was really a relief, to just let go and allow him to take care of this details for us. Absolutely first-class!

  • We spent three nights in Jean-Louis' apartment. Jean-Louis himself was away during our stay, but we were met at the apartment by his son who gave us some information about the apartment and the locality.

The apartment is very conveniently located on Boulevard St Germain. It is less than a five minute walk from Notre-Dame and within walking distance of many other sights - Jardin du Luxembourg, le Louvre etc. There are many boulangeries, mini-markets and restaurants in the vicinity. The metro is also convenient - a five minute walk.

The inside of the apartment was perfect for us - a young couple. Compared to many of the apartments & hotel rooms we had researched in Paris, there was ample room. It was also very well supplied as regards to appliances - even having a Nespresso machine which was a big plus for us! Lastly, despite being located just off a busy boulevard, the apartment was remarkably quiet with little or no street noise.

Overall, we could not recommend Jean-Louis' apartment highly enough in terms of location, facilities & value for money.

  • Jean-Louis was there we arrived and gave a warm welcome.and made helpful suggestions about local restaurants ,cafes etc.
The apartment is peaceful and comfortable.
The vicinity is close to the Seine, Notre Dame and the Pompidou. It is easy to get the metro and RER to Charles de Gaulle airport.

  • Everything about Jean-Louis's flat was perfect. You are staying in the nicest part of Paris, and just a bridge away from the lovely Ile St Louis, and then the Marais. The flat has everything you need for a relaxing stay, and a very well-stocked kitchen. Jean-Louis is generous, welcoming, and helpful. Just superb!

  • A great location and a really nice flat. Everything you could possibly need!

Jean-Louis was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. He provided a wide range of local places to try, bars, restaurants and bakeries.

The best thing about his place is the location. It is right in the heart of the action. Well linked to tourist attractions and public transport. We were there on a Saturday night when the area really comes alive!

I would not hesitate to stay with Jean-Louis again!

Many thanks and hopefully we will see you at Twickenham one day...
