Villa Jiwa is just moments from bustling Ubud yet peaceful and quiet, with one of the best views in all of Bali. Perfect for two with a gorgeous pool and right on the rice fields, it's tropical living at it finest - "Heaven at an Earthly Price"
Special for select dates in March and April, only $89 per night!
With one of the best views in Ubud, Villa Jiwa is a gorgeous one bedroom mini Villa hideaway for up to two people with en-suite garden bathroom and refreshment facilities. The villa has a spacious bedroom leading to a lovely garden bathroom of terrazzo and granite featuring a rain shower. Located with a stunning view to the west and surrounded by gardens on both side it's steps away from the pool.
Villa Jiwa includes a private sitting/lounging area and deck. One of the favorites of our guests is to awaken before dawn and watch the early light lift the mist over the ocean of rice and experience a Bali Sunrise right from your private deck with coffee in hand. It's an experience like no other in Bali. Stay long enough and you'll experience the whole cycle of rice cultivation from planting to harvesting and the local religious festivals celebrating Bali's unique cultural heritage.
Villa Jiwa is your own private world yet steps away from Harmony's 15 meter infinity pool through Harmony's lush landscaping. The Harmony pool is situated on the very edge of the bluff overlooking the rice and has a shallow end seating area for relaxing after you've done your laps! It's central to all the Harmony villas yet large enough for privacy. We don't have pool hours so feel free to take a moonlight swim at 3 am!
Villa Jiwa is located on the edge of a huge rice paddy in the village of Lodtunduh, about 2 km from Ubud and not far from the Monkey Forest and all the world class shopping on Hanuman Street and the cultural activities and restaurants in Ubud. We are very centrally located for all of Bali's sights and activities. Sanur beach is close (about 12 miles) and Seminyak. Kuta and Legian are easy drives for a whole day out with a different vibe. Or you can go up the hill to Kintamani and the hot springs at Lake Batur in an hour or so. Temples abound everywhere - from Besakih, the "Mother Temple" to Tanah Lot on the ocean (two of the most famous and holy) and we can organize tours to anywhere on the island and to Lombok too....
It's slightly cooler in the Ubud area than the beach. A/C is not needed at Harmony due to our location right on the edge of the rice fields. We almost always get a breeze and Jiwa has a powerful overhead fan and a high ceiling to keep the air flowing. You'll find our design for indoor/outdoor living works for your comfort.
Your villa stay includes tea and coffee service, free wifi, a laptop sized safe, towels, TV/DVD, parking, laundry (by arrangement), daily staff service, a yoga deck, sun loungers and the priceless ambiance of the Harmony lifestyle.
Please note that although we love children and welcome them Harmony is not designed to be a child safe property. If you do book with kids you'll need to be totally responsible for them at all times.
The Villa is available for daily rental (2 night minimum please) or longer. Please ask us for rates for longer term stays (over 10 days) We do not have a set check in or out time to meet your needs if you are coming from outside of Bali. . I'm not always in Bali but our staff will look after you hand and foot. If I'm there I'm always available to give you tips and pointers on the best way to maximize your stay in Ubud and Bali.
Our village is still mostly agricultural and its a fascinating place to experience real Bali village life which can't be found in touristy areas such as Kuta or Seminyak. That's the lovely thing about our area of Lodtunduh village.
You'll likely encounter ceremonies, celebrations, weddings, a cremation perhaps (a big event in Bali) , the local temple festivals. but most of all you'll see (depending on when you visit) the fascinating cycle of rice farming from preparing the fields, planting seedlings, thinning out the new rice, watching the ducks do their amazing dances, to harvesting, threshing and drying. You'll see the village men parade their fowl and perhaps experience a cockfight – although you may not approve, it’s very much a part of village culture. If you want you can wager and maybe win!
There's a taxi service right in our village to take you to and from the airport (about $30) and into town (about $5) a few minutes away and we can also rent you scooters (and helmets!) for about $6 per day. There's parking at the villa. Please note although the airport is only about 20 miles away it can take about an hour and a half. The roads are small and there's a lot of traffic in Bali!
Room was nice and clean with a good bed and in a beautiful setting.
The thing is, none of those are in short supply in Ubud.
The trouble for this place is that it is a long walk from ANYTHING.
If you want a honeymoon retreat, stay here and get your food delivered. And there's no way around the fact that this room was ovepriced. Maybe if you were in one of the others with a kitchen, but they stuck us in the only room that didn't have one, although all the other rooms were empty while we were there. And we had our 3 yr old with us. If anything screams for a good-service upgrade, that's it.
In a vacuum, maybe this place would merit 4 but this isn't a vacuum. Its Bali. Yes its full of overpriced retreats but its also full of gems. Usually the difference lies in bringing the price down with the season and providing really good service. Harmony villas came up short...
Lovely quiet place for honeymooners, make sure that you rent a car/motor bike since the villa not at the the main road.
It's 5-10min away from central Ubud and there's lots of great food + shops at Ubud.
Great setting in the rice-paddies. Super private and cozy. Lovely design. The villa is tranquil calm and the pool was sublime in the evenings. Watching fireflies hover in the evening while wading in the infinity pool was the highlight.
We had a lovely relaxing stay at Harmony Villas. They are so quiet and peaceful and the staff are amazing.. We will definitely stay there again......
With only a few days notice my girlfriend and I booked the first available of the top Airbnb spots for Ubud over Christmas. I was being a babbling email fusspot and sending too many emails to Michael (the host) in the lead up to arriving, be everyone was responded to immediately with answers aplenty. Everything went super smoothly from start to end of holiday. The staff were sensational. Super thanks to the lovely lady on site who looked after us (whom I can't remember the name of!) who was ready to offer up help, suggestions and her Bahasa Indonesian skills whenever we needed them - nothing ever being a problem, nothing ever done without a laugh. The villa was oh so quiet and stunning. The walk to Ubud is totally do-able and easy, but in the wet season we found it much easier to pay a meager 50,000rp to get there or back rather than sludge through daily rain. And if we found ourselves in at night, it was no trouble to get almost any restaurant in Ubud (with the help of our joyful host on site) to deliver right to our door (we strongly recommend you snap up some Taco Caso while you're there whether in restaurant or direct to your room). Stay at this villa and lap up Bali, without being in a giant bogus resort in the busy guts of Ubud.
We had a very nice stay at villa Harmony for 4 days. Good place in a quiet area in the middle if the rice fields. Staff is very friendly and always helpful for any of any of your requirements. Rooms, garden and pool are permanently held in a clean way. Distance to the busy Ubud city is approximately 2 or 3 km .... we did it several times by walking and came then back with a Taxi. Don't be afraid from insects because you're in the middle of nowhere at villa Harmony. Absolutely a place I would recommand if you like the green nature of Bali.
I had an amazing stay at Villa Jiwa!!!
The place is beautiful and the staff is really nice and helpful.. Always with the legendary Balinese smile and kindness!
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chilled and relaxed getaway!
Very nice place to stay.. the paddy field is very therapeutic to watch, be it in the morning while having breakfast or at night when you get to see fireflies.
Camille and the staffs are very friendly and accommodating. We have friends joining us last minute and they have a bigger villa with reasonable rate. Dipping in the infinity pool watching sunset is a must.
Thanks Harmony staffs and Camille for your kind hospitality (sorry did not get to say bye to you)
We will stay here again when we are back in Ubud.
We had a great time at Villa Jiwa at Harmony Villas. The location is stunning, so close to the rice fields - wonderful!
The villa and the bathroom are very clean. We loved the pool where you can have a very good swim.
Michael and his team are very friendly and helpful: scooter rental, laundry, breakfast - no problem!
We definitely recommend the villa and we will come back!
We decided that we did need a vacation this year and after long deliberation we decided to go to Bali. We had heard about airbnb and decided to give it a go....
We found Harmony Villa's in Ubud and loved the description of the place. The pictures gave us a good feeling. Harmony Villa's is managed by Camille and owned by Michael. Camille has been more than helpful in the preporatory phase of our trip and even arranged for us to be picked up from the airport.
Harmony Villa's is everything that the pictures show, something you would want to keep a secrect to yourself :) Lovely situated in the rice paddy's so beautiful and very well maintained.
The staff was great: every day our villa was cleaned and they made us a lovely breakfast in the morning!
All in all a very great start of our Indonesia experience!
Thank you soo much!
