Siamo stati benissimo nella casa di Haidee!Posizione meravigliosa, casa deliziosa e poi utilissima la piscina interna per rilassarsi la sera!Haidee è stata davvero gentile e disponibile!
The apartment was beautiful with such wonderful character. We enjoyed seeing the deer munching out in the fields in the early morning and evening. The hot pool was a wonderful experience that started our mornings and ended our days with a pampered feeling. Haidee's dad was very good to make sure the pool was to our liking. We did not meet Haidee but she had her friend greet us on arrival and was very quick to respond to messages once asked. A very out of the way, romantic stay.
Haidee's home was beautifully located and is perfect for a stay in Tuscany. Vineyards are a plenty and it was still warm enough to enjoy wine by the pool in the afternoon. The house is perfect for 2, with a great living room and cozy bedroom. The dogs that live above are so cute and very friendly. Overall it was a perfect place to stay with restaurants and vineyards near by to enjoy.
We'd give this "Chianti Apartment with Jacuzzi" only three stars because it did not quite meet our expectations and we felt it was not a good value given the price.
In general, it was ok, but we would not stay here again. For one, we arrived and were informed that the jacuzzi/sauna are closed from May-November. While the description online says "during the summer there is a pool, and in the winter there is a hot pool with jacuzzi and sauna," it doesn't make clear that the jacuzzi is actually closed, especially given the title of this listing. Secondly, the apartment is in need of general maintenance and is not as it appears online (furniture).
We stayed for 7 days and would assess the pros and cons as follows.
Pros: beautiful scenery, charming architectural style, quiet and peaceful, pool (though very(!) cold), laundry available; central location in Chianti if visiting other towns such as Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, etc.
Cons: dark interior; kitchen lacks supplies (i.e. only 1 bowl, 2 mugs, one of which had a picture of boobs on it, no spatula, only a small espresso maker, no kitchen towel or paper towels, no pepper); gas stove ignition didn't work so we had to use a lighter; couches are old, smelly, dirty and very uncomfortable (not as pictured online); bathroom was dark and missing a light bulb; shower poured lots of water onto the floor (plus there was no bathmat provided); moscitos everywhere and no screen-doors, so we had to keep the doors closed; to get here, you need to go down a steep and bumpy dirt road; not much in walking distance, just 1 restaurant; this apartment is located in Montefiridolfi, not San Casciano, as indicated online, which is a bigger town with a grocery store; and lastly, when we communicated to Heidi our disappointment with the jacuzzi/sauna and how the availability is unclear online, she said she could get someone to clean and heat the jacuzzi, but then we never heard back from her.
Overall, the accommodations didn't seem to fit with the spirit of airbnb.
Whereas most hosts provide a nice welcome, some water / wine, insider tips, and their apartments have all amenities needed to stay there (especially kitchen), this place seems more like a source of extra income for the owners, who do not take very good care of the whole experience.
We were greeted by a friend of the hosts, since Haidee couldn't make it because she was working. Her friend showed us around the apartment. The property is beautiful and very peaceful. We loved waking up to the church bells in the morning. My biggest complaint about this place is the apartment is musty smelling and damp. Also we couldn't get the jacuzzi to work and the room was full of bees. My husband is allergic to bees so we had to stay away. The smell of insect repellent was very present within the living area. This place looks exactly like the pictures and would of been great minus a musty smell and damp feeling. Also it would of been helpful to know that once you get onto the road the apartment is on that there are no house numbers and if it wasn't for the man waving his arms at us we would of been going around in circles. beware this is a gravel road too for those renting a car.
The apartment was beautiful, set in the chianti countryside not far from Florence. An ideal location! I would definitely recommend renting a car for the trip as it is a little isolated, but that's not a bad thing. The local shop sells the basics and a supermarket is only 3km away. We made a road trip to Pisa one day. Apparently the local restaurant is very good but advanced booking is needed, we tried to get a table and were told they were full, when it had just opened!!
Haidee made arrangements for her friend to check us In as we arrived very late and she was working, which was very nice of her.
A note to prospective bookers: I would check with Haidee whether the jacuzzi and sauna are operational because they were closed during our visit which we were a little disappointed by. Other than that we had a fantastic time and would thoroughly recommend it.
