About This Listing
Guest room in my Hollywood Hills home. Private bathroom, flat screen TV, California King bed (my friends call it the W Hotel Suite). Contemporary house....the architect also designed Jackie Collins' house in Beverly Hills.
My house is located in the heart of the Hollywood Hills, just five minutes from the world famous Sunset Strip, 10 minutes from shopping on Rodeo Drive, 15 minutes from the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Dolby Theater (Academy Awards), and 20 minutes from Universal Studios. With reasonable traffic, it is about 40 minutes to LAX.
There are many good bars and restaurants and shopping in the Sunset Plaza area of Sunset Blvd (5 minutes away).
Parking is easy on the street at my house. On a clear day, the view from my house reaches across the city and all the way to the Pacific Ocean.
NOTE..I DO NOT INCLUDE BREAKFAST IN THE LISTING. THERE ARE GREAT RESTAURANTS NEARBY OPEN 24 HRS.
ALSO...I HAVE TWO GUEST ROOMS LISTED ON AIRBNB SO THERE MAY BE OTHER GUESTS IN THE HOUSE AT THE SAME TIME. PLEASE ASK IF YOU ARE INTERESTED.
The laundry room is available for your use as well, but not after 10PM
Public transportation is not terribly convenient from my house. You really need a car to get around at your convenience in the Los Angeles area.
There is no smoking in the house. This includes e cigs..sorry. Upon arrival you will be given a key to the front door which also opens a side door which is very near the rental bedroom. I take great pride in keeping this house in top shape and I expect my guests to treat it as they would their own home. Please be careful and lock the front door WITH THE KEY when you leave.
I leave some lights on at night for security. If there are lights on when you come in late (if you do come in late), they are on for that reason.
The laundry room is available for guest use but not after 10PM.
Please let me know a couple of days in advance of your arrival...approximately what time you expect to arrive...thanks!
NOTE..this is my personal residence... It is not to be used as your personal recording studio, video studio, conference room when here on business or party central for business or personal friends.
I am speechless really. Amazing home, amazing host. I cannot wait to stay there again.
The host made me feel very welcomed! He added a personal touch by having some complementary snacks and bottles of water. The listing is exactly as on the pictures. The neighbourhood it really quiet and safe.
Darrell's place is simple amazing. The view itself is breathtaking and the room is private, roomy, clean with tons of amenities. Even though I didn't get to meet Darrell in person as he was traveling but his tenant Kerry was able to show me around the house and shared with me of some LA tips and stories as I'm the first time visitor to LA, it was much appreciated. I highly recommended this place!
Vielen herzlichen Dank an Darrell
Darrell's house was perfect! and I renewed for ten nights, I hope I could go back here in the future.

About the Host, Darrell
Hi... I am semi retired from a long career in finance at several companies, including a very large health insurance company. I currently teach finance at UCLA on a part time basis.
In addition to my professional career, I am a musician. I have a grand piano in my house, and I have recorded two full length CDs.
I have been an avid runner for much of my adult life and I have completed 51 full marathons all over the U.S. and also in Canada, Italy, Greece and Spain.
I have climbed many major mountains around the world, and have been attempting to tag all of the 'Seven Summits' (the highest peak on each of the world's seven continents) I have tagged six of the seven peaks, and reached about 24,000 feet on Mt. Everest. So if I can go back to Everest before I get too old and tag the summit, I will have joined a very exclusive club!
I am single and live in this big house by myself, except for a tenant that lives in my attached studio apartment. I look forward to meeting people from around the world and having them enjoy the comforts of home when they travel.
