The Space

Our TRUE 2 BEDROOM apartment is on the 2nd floor of a newly renovated building in Prospect Heights. There's so much to do around here -- Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Barclay's Center, and some of the best restaurants and bars in Brooklyn -- and we'll be sure to give you the lay of the land when you arrive, either in person or via our extensive homemade guidebook. Here's a bit more about the apartment:

Bedroom 1: Queen sized bed. Honestly the most comfortable bed that has ever existed in this world.

Bedroom 2: Queen sized pullout couch. Firm and comfy! This room doubles as a den with a TV and PS3 (more on this later) but there's a real living room in the adjacent room. There's also a beautiful fishtank with about 12 small fish.

Living room: The perfect place for 4 people to hang out and listen to music on our spectacular stereo. The room contains one couch and one chair.

Bathroom: Our shower sports the most refreshing dual showerhead out there.

Kitchen: New stainless steel appliances, a gas stove and oven, and even a dishwasher. The fridge and dry pantry will have some staples for our guests. There is a dining room table that seats up to 5 people next to the living room.

Laundry: There is a coin operated washer and dryer set in the basement. We will provide detergent.

Heat/AC: There is central air (!) in our apartment. The apartment stays pretty warm during the day and all night depending on just how cold it is outside. Feel free to mess with the thermostat until you get it just right!

Internet: Free. (And fast!)

TV: Our PS3 gets Netflix, Hulu Plus, NFL Sunday Ticket, and has HUNDREDS of movies preloaded. Let us know if there's any movie or TV show you want, and we'll get it for you before your visit.

Public Transportation: The 2,3,4,5 and Franklin Ave Shuttle trains all stop within a 5 minute walk at the Franklin Ave. station. These trains take you into Manhattan in 20 minutes or less or they take you to Atlantic Terminal in under 5 minutes to transfer to the N,Q,R,B,D and LIRR trains. The A,C,E trains are about a 10 minute walk or shuttle ride away. The B45 also stops across the street and is great for getting around Brooklyn.

Whew! I think that covers it. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions...we hope to see you soon!

Check In
  • I booked the place for my family to stay. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. Everything is as described! Would recommend to any friends!

  • It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Meredith's home and I took care of the place as if it were my own.

Fantastic location to public transport and not too far away from Manhattan and all the touristy locations. It was walking distances to local organic grocers, as well as local pubs.

Meredith replied to all of my emails/questions in very reasonable response times considering it was during the holiday season! And probably with a bit of patience as I am sure I had asked the same questions over and over again.

The apartment looks like in the pictures and was a joy to stay there. I would recommend both Meredith as a host, and the place to stay, if you want to check out Brooklyn and sightsee New York, if the city stays are not for you!

  • We had a great stay at Meredith and Jake's place. Everything was as described and our hosts were extremely reliable.

  • The description is perfectly accurate: Meredith's apartment is super nice, fits perfectly for four people and in a great location in Brooklyn, min. away from the subway on Franklin Av. We were traveling with my husband's parents and it was great for them: the master bedroom is comfi, the kitchen area is well designed and every corner has just the right accessory. Communication was super easy as well.We highly recommend this place!

  • I booked Meredith's home for my sister and her two teenaged kids, they LOVED it beyond words! The house is beautiful and "better than the pictures" according to my sister. My teenage niece's (website hidden) status after she arrived was,"The best damn apartment️ Leave me here to (email hidden)." Haha! Needless to say I was so glad and proud that I found this gem for them:-) Meredith is an excellent hostess, she is very responsive and super helpful. The house is well connected and close to grocery stores, the station and the neighborhood is safe and hip. You are likely to see hipsters walking around with strollers;-) Highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a beautiful, well appointed, convenient, safe, hip place to stay in Brooklyn.

  • We had everything we needed in the appartment and felt very comfortable at any time. The appartment was very clean, modern equipped and had enough space for the two of us. Meredith is very kindly and thoughtful - we appreciate her help in advance of our trip muchly! The subway station is 5 minutes away from Sterling Place, from there it took us 20-30 minutes to reach Manhattan uptown. There were lots of Bars and Restaurants recommended by Meredith that we liked, especially "Sweet Basil" - with delicious thai cuisine. Last but not least we would reccommend staying at her place!

  • Beautiful apartment, just like the photos. Meredith was very professional a quick to respond. The instructions she left were great too. The apt was really close to the subway, funky coffee shops and bars. Very close to the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. The apartment was in a more edgy part of Brooklyn than I expected.

  • Had a wonderful stay at Merideth's apt! The house is extremely clean and charming. Merideth was also very helpful with the logistics. For my next visit to New York, I would definitely (try to) get this apt again!

  • We had a great time at Meredith’s place. It was super clean, quiet, comfortable, and we absolutely loved the décor. The neighborhood was awesome too – just a few blocks from lots of different restaurants, Prospect Park, and the 2/3 subway into Manhattan. We even found parking right outside the front door! I would definitely stay here again.

  • Meredith's apartment was a wonderful place to stay, particularly with an infant: awesome location in Prospect Heights; easy parking for those driving in; inviting, spacious, well-appointed and CLEAN living space. Meredith had all sorts of nice touches including towels and fresh soap, helpful info sheet. She made herself easily available via phone even though she was out of town. And, she graciously mailed our daughter's forgotten hat. We will definitely look forward to staying here again if we travel to the area.

I am a non-profit fund raiser and Food Studies student at NYU. I love to cook, take photos and explore new places. I lived in the Lower East Side of Manhattan for 2 1/2 years, after which my fiance and I moved to Prospect Heights/Crown Heights. It's a great, vibrant neighborhood and we love it!
