Spectacular 80 sqm loft in Montevideo located near the main avenue and theatre. Elegant furnishings, unique art pieces and a piano make this apartment an enjoyable space.
Maravilloso lugar.
IF YOU ENJOY CLEAN ORGANIZED PLACES, IF YOU HATE FLEAS, AVOID CASA TATU. We had an awful experience: from the inexistent reception to a dirty dark place. Let us share our awful experience. We have been sendin(website hidden) messages and SMS’s for three days informing our new arrival time without any reply. We never received any instruction about how access the flat. When we arrived there was a phone number written in the wall, we called and got only the message box. We were finally saved by the nearby restaurant; a very nice lady opened the building door and informed us that the flat’s door was usually opened. The place was dirty and more than half of the lamps were not working. We had to light candles to organize ourselves in the darkest parts of the flat. More than 2 hours after our call we received a phone call, we complained about the lamps and got only a promise of having a call next day. We tried to sleep, but the place was full of fleas. It was impossible to have a shower; the place was filth and disgusting. The internet was the only thing working. It saved us: we found a hotel and moved in the early morning. We were so angry and stressed that we simply left the flat, without even boring to get the refund. We just wanted to start our vacation and to put this awful experience behind us.
Incredible spot. Great host, great location. But if you are taller then 5'5 your head will hit the ceiling walking through the halls of the apartment.
precioso el departmaneto y muy bien ubicado, nos encanto!
What a wonderful apartment! We loved the space and of course the piano. This is a very unique place and we stayed for two nights.
Sebastian was a very nice and easy host. Late check out was no problem since we were booked on a late bus at 6pm and Sebastian let us stay for the entire afternoon, too. THANK YOU! (reg. check out time was 11am).
The apartment is located directly in the old town, the cafe downstairs, the Cafe Bacacay offers delicious salads and other food and you are close to lots of bars, restaurants and the Plaza Independencia. Most ATM machines give Pesos and USD and are just a few mins around the corner in walking distance.
We can definitely recommend it and would love staying there again!
Great place to stay for a trip to Montevideo. We loved it as soon as we walked in. Well located to explore the old part of town. Unfortunately the night we stayed was really hot and there was no air conditioning or fan so we couldn't get much sleep even with windows open. Perfect for a couple just be mindful of weather conditions.
Great location in Ciudad Vieja! We were told by a few people during our weekend stay to avoid the neighborhood at night, but we didn't have any problems. Common sense, of course, should be applied. The cafe just under the apartment has great food and a friendly staff and the view of the Teatro Solis can't be beat. Seba was very responsive and helpful. I would definitely go back.
Sebastian's old city loft is full of charm. It has hard wood floors, wonderful old windows and interior brick archways that make you feel as though you were living in the 19th century. It's location could not be better; it's directly over the Café Bacacay, a sophisticated hang-out at the edge of the old city. But the apartment lacks in creature comforts. There's no A/C, no fan, and no place to put your toiletries in the bathroom. The plumbing works well but the electricity is questionable. All in all, a good experience, but maybe best avoided during very hot weather.
