Shopping, dining, drinks, it's all in the area. The beach is a 20-25 minute walk but it's worth staying in Ciudad Vieja over staying close to the beach, so much more to do. The apartment is spacious, the exposed brick is a wonderful touch and it has everything you need. For all of the noise that can be on the streets in the early morning, we were very surprised (and pleased) at how quiet the apartment was. Would recommend, no hesitation!

Las Mulitas such a wonderful step back in time, and into a sophisticated experience right in the heart of Montevideo's Ciudad Vieja and Centro areas. The loft was as great as it looks in the images. Our stay was all that we had hoped for and more, with its amazing location, just off Plaza Impendencia and the Teatro Solis. The entry door to the building opens to the outdoor seating area of the Cafe Bacacay with clean, healthy delicious food and excellent coffee and house made baked goods. Bacacay is a pedestrian street that connects with another walking street, Sarandi, filled with everything that we needed for our stay there; pastry shop (just next store), wine shop, Devoto super market, barber, cafe's, haberdasher, restaurants, bars, night clubs, printers, FedEx office, and ever kind of shopping possible.......and all within a block or two. We were in town for business, but will return soon just to play and get to know Montevideo's museums, churches, and cultural sights from the best seats in the house......... Thank you Las Mulitas for such an excellent experience............finn and Syna

We had an OK experience at the Loft. The location is superb, and we were delighted on our first morning to find the Old Town right at our doorstep, great history and culture, shops all available. Unfortunately, the Loft did not match our expectations - it was cold and dark when we arrived and took a long time for the two small heaters to warm it up - and we arrived at 6pm in the rain. Our host was not there, and the girl from the cafe next door, opened up downstairs, but said she had nothing else to do with the apartment. Admittedly the Loft is old, in an old building - which was part of the charm - but unfortunately the amenities are not great. The kitchen lighting was poor, the taps/plumbing constantly leaking with an old tea towel wrapped around base to stem the flow. The bathroom is small, cold with poor water pressure and a fitting about to fall off the wall. The toilet cistern has a screw driver in the wall with a note saying use this if the toilet fails - and we had to ! There are no floor coverings, and in winter this only serves to make the place feel colder, and the loose floorboards to play on your feet, like your fingers on the lovely piano provided. We left a day early.

Perfectly located and full of beautiful details and character, I wish we had more than two nights here. The apartment is lovely and spacious, and we were very comfortable here. There are some tricky bits, like a shower with barely a strong trickle (but hot water!) and a temperamental toilet but also niceties like Apple TV. If you appreciate antiques and old-fashioned details, this will make you contemplate a move to Montevideo to live in an old mansion.

Las Mulitas User Profile

Las Mulitas is a personal venture that i ve been creating for several years in my hometown Montevideo.
Choosing properties I consider very special for historical and architectural reasons, and putting special care in its restoration and subsequent careful decoration, to offer to my foreigners guest from all over the world,to make them feel comfortable.
Either in our houses or shared residence, we are looking for friendly and simple guests who come to this city with the intention of living a different experience and leave with great memories and not just beautiful souvenir photos.
We like to share conversations, moments and laughs with our guests, wish them forward to returning soon they're gone.
As I live with my family near to the properties rented through airbnb, I am always available to give advise and help.
We love meeting new people and customs, be sure that this is your place
