Great place to stay and get around the city. Subway directly outside of my building. My Landlord knows I use Airbnb to cover my rent. I don't think you'll be disappointed by your stay.

The Space

My Landlord knows that I share my home with Airbnb guests. There is no problem with him.
Thanks for stopping by my page. Please read all the way through.

There is no A/C so please be aware.

I live in a Pre-War Building on the UWS. I think people really enjoy staying with me as my reviews reflect.

My door is 10 feet from the 1 train at the 103rd st. Subway stop. It is an old elevator building. As it is a pre-war building, it has paint chips and character. But, It is a perfect, safe place to crash and enjoy the city. There's a Starbucks right across the street with tons of delis, etc.

I'm an Artistic Director so the place feels pretty whimisical. I am an early to bed early to rise type of person. I sleep on the daybed in the living-room. Also, please note a couple of things.

I work a lot out of my apartment and sometimes I have meetings in the AM in the living room. I also have a boyfriend who stays from time to time. But, we are very respectful.

I am happy to have up to 3 guests but there is an extra fee for each additional person. And please note there is only a double bed. So you'd need to have a sleeping bag, etc.

The bed has a duvet, and four pillows. I provide towels, and sheets.

Please be non-drug users, no smokers and no heavy drinkers and be please be respectful. My neighbors are lovely people and are mostly families. I recently moved into the apartment so not everything is decorated, and I am still learning about quirks. Like for instance, the hot water can be "temperamental" depending on when you shower. And the heat is steam and usually the apartment is very warm unless you open the windows

Lots of light for NYC. The apartment faces Broadway and you can hear traffic.

I have WIFI and you are welcome to use the fridge. I ask that you do not make meals at the apartment.

There is only one bathroom and my closet is in the bedroom. I will do my best to get my clothes out while you are not using the room, but I respectfully ask that you allow me to get clothes as needed.

There really isn't a lot of space to hang clothes-so it's best to be able to pull out of your suitcase.

When requesting the room, please confirm you have read the description. And please put your arrival times. I have a hard check out time at 11am-meaning no suitcases, etc left in the apartment.

Guest Access

No real meals, snacks are fine.

Interaction with Guests

I am very aware of the need of privacy.

The Neighborhood

I live right near Riverside Park. It's beautiful.

Getting around

The subway is right outside my door. It's the reason that I leased the apartment in the first place.

Other Things to Note

Sometimes my boyfriend comes by. He's lovely and we really keep to ourselves. People have really enjoyed him as well.

  • We spent 8 days at Chris place. She was a wonderful hostess. She made sure everything was ok. Chris is theater director and invited us to see her play.
The apparment is well located on line 1.
As read in other comments, the place is tidy, clean and small (but it's NY).
    We'd love to come back.

  • I was pleasantly surprised to find a warm, friendly and interested hostess in Christine. She did everything she could to make my stay a happy one, which it was. As others have stated, her place was very clean and tidy. Because the room faces Broadway, it is usually noisy there but with the window closed and the fan on to create "white noise" I was able to sleep without earplugs. A plus for me was that my home-away-from-home is only one block from the family members I was visiting. When I visit them again, I would try to stay with Christine. Many thanks, Christine.

  • Super friendly, super helpful! Her super-clean apartment is easy to find, easy to get to – even from JFK – and located in a perfectly nice area with good food and drink possibilities nearby.

Getting the keys was easy, and she Christine was forthcoming with all kinds of info in response to all kinds of stupid questions.

I would be happy to stay there again.

  • Christine is a very warm host! So nice, caring, sensitive and fun to be with!
The location is super convenient - Only two steps from the subway station.
The apartment itself is comfortable, cute and inviting. and the guests room is big with such indulging bed - better then you've got at home!
Christine was very helpful and it was so nice to live with her - My staying at her place was way beyond my expectations.
When I'm back in NYC I'll definitely want to stay there again! :)

  • Christine has been great host, very helpfull and friendly. The description of the appartment is accurate, the building might be old but the location in highly convenient and the apartment is clean, cozy, tidy, the room is very espacious, and everything works OK.
I had a great time at Christine's apartment. I highly recommend her as a very reliable host.
    Thanks Christine!

  • To stay with Christine was the best decision I could make!! Out of black dispair, I cancelled the already booked but bug-contaminated hotel last minute and decided to try a private room. Christine turned out to be the most helpful, kind, decent, smart, humorous and open minded host someone could wish for!

Her provided NY insider infos were as helpful as your own keys you receive.

I enjoyed every minute staying with her, even if, due to the lack of compatibility from her working hours to my sightseeing/going out hours - we unfortunately did not have so much time together.

I hope that, when I will return to NY someday, she has some space still left for me!

  • Christine is an Angel, sweet, educated, a person that shows care, the place is clean and well located, i had a beautiful run in the park, great restaurants and the subway is right there a few steps from the door building. I was looking for being our first experience in AirBnB a place where we will feel secure and we did. Thank you Christine!

  • Christine was an amazing host. She's very nice and helpful. Her apartment is very cute and cozy and with great location. We didn't spend much time in as we were doing sightseeing most of the time. The place was very clean and comfy. The apartment is located basically across the street from the subway so it was very easy to move around in Manhattan. We would highly recommend Christine's place to anyone visiting NYC :)

  • Christine's apartment building, as she says in her description, is old, and the communal areas are tatty. However the apartment itself has the basics, is clean, the bedroom is spacious and comfortable and the apartment is well located in a good neighbourhood with shops, restaurants and transport on the doorstep.

I run a not for profit theater company. I am pretty neat and like to have a clean home. I believe in honesty and kindness. My Landlord is completely aware that I use Airbnb. He is in support of it. It is important to me that my guests have a great stay and that everyone communicates clearly.
