About this listing
Great place to stay and get around the city. Subway directly outside of my building. My Landlord knows I use Airbnb to cover my rent. I don't think you'll be disappointed by your stay. Please note that prices change for demand.
Thanks for stopping by my page. I think you'll enjoy the room
****Please note, my prices go with the season and Airbnb charges on top of my fee and I charge for each additional person****
Also, I do not have A/C only Fans. And the heat is steam heat so it's uncontrollable unless you have the windows open.
My Landlord knows that I share my home with Airbnb guests. Please read all the way through.
I live in a Pre-War Building on the UWS. I think people really enjoy staying with me as my reviews reflect.
Please note I live right off Broadway. The street is directly outside the window in the bedroom and living-room. If you are noise sensitive, this will not be your spot.
I have my apartment professionally cleaned between each guest. And take pride in having a clean apartment.
My door is 10 feet from the 1 train at the 103rd st. Subway stop. It is an old elevator building. As it is a pre-war building, it has paint chips and character. But, It is a perfect, safe place to crash and enjoy the city. There's a Starbucks right across the street with tons of delis, etc.
I'm an Artistic Director so the place feels pretty whimisical. I am an early to bed early to rise type of person. I sleep on the daybed in the living-room. Also, please note a couple of things.
I work a lot out of my apartment and sometimes I have meetings in the AM in the living room. I also have a boyfriend who stays from time to time. But, we are very respectful.
I am happy to have up to 3 guests but there is an extra fee for each additional person. And please note there is only a queen-sized bed. I have an air mattress that could be put on the floor-it would be tight. (Please note there is a fee for each additional person)
The bed has a down comforter and four pillows. I provide towels, and sheets.
Please be non-drug users, no smokers and no heavy drinkers and be please be respectful. My neighbors are lovely people and are mostly families. I recently moved into the apartment and I am still learning about quirks. Like for instance, the hot water can be "temperamental" depending on when you shower as well as the elevator.
Lots of light for NYC. The apartment faces Broadway and you can hear traffic.
I have WIFI and you are welcome to use the fridge. I ask that you do not make meals at the apartment.
There is only one bathroom and my closet is in the bedroom. I will do my best to get my clothes out while you are not using the room, but I respectfully ask that you allow me to get clothes as needed.
There really isn't a lot of space to hang clothes-so it's best to be able to pull out of your suitcase.
When requesting the room, please confirm you have read the description. And please put your arrival times.
Please note: Check in is after 3pm and Check out is before 11am. I have a hard check out time at 11am-meaning no suitcases, etc left in the apartment.
My biggest suggestion to anyone staying with me is that this isn't really a hotel. It's best if guests are interested in seeing the city and not staying in their room the entire time. I hope that's understandable.
No real meals, snacks are fine.
Interaction with guests
I am very aware of the need of privacy.
Other things to note
Sometimes my boyfriend comes by. He's lovely and we really keep to ourselves. People have really enjoyed him as well.
No drugs, smoking in the apartment. No heavy drinking in apartment. Looking for respectful people. I meditate twice a day and ask that you be quiet. Just a gentle reminder, sometimes the hot water can be temperamental-especially between 7am-10am as it's an old building and lots of people shower then. And also you understand there is only one closet in the bedroom that I might need to use. Also, if you lose your keys there is a $50 fee to replace them.
One key-the round key is to the front doors of the building. The roundish key opens both doors. You have to turn and push at the same time. You'll get it- it just might take a moment.
Take the elevator-it's slow and you have to wait for it. It's an old elevator where you open the door when the elevator gets to the 1st floor. Open the door and take it to the 6th floor.
There is no key for the very top lock as it is broken so the 2nd key the squarer key is what you use to open the front door to my apartment. It's the lower lock right above the handle.
Gently, pull the door handle towards you and turn all the way left until the latch unlocks and the door opens.
Then, you'll be in the apartment.
You'll find two towels, two rolls of toilet paper, etc. Please only flush small amounts of toilet paper down the toilet otherwise it will clog the toilet. No tampons. There is a small garbage can in the bathroom.
The other garbage can is next to the fridge.
Please take the garbage out each day-there are more bags next to the garbage can-I double bag them. And please make sure you wash all of the dishes. (Keeps the roaches away) When you walk out the door towards the elevator from my apartment, you'll see a closet door on the right-It has a garbage shoot
The wifi is
There is an empty dresser for you both in the bedroom. And if you'd like to hang things up, there is room in my closet.
I will leave some 91% alcohol and lavendar that I ask you spray your suitcases with. It keeps away any pests that might have climbed onto your luggage. (I've been reading too much on the internet. :)

I run a not for profit theater company. I am pretty neat and like to have a clean home. I believe in honesty and kindness. My Landlord is completely aware that I use Airbnb. He is in support of it. It is important to me that my guests have a great stay and that everyone communicates clearly.
