  • We didn't meet Vicki personally, but she was a great host - providing loads of information and updates about local events. Her son Chris looked after anything else we needed during our stay.

The property is located a little distance out of town. The walk is definitely manageable, but if you're staying for a while it would be worth getting a scooter. There are bicycles available for rent and the ride into town is downhill, so basically no effort required. But on the way back you are cycling constantly uphill. Fine if you're really fit, but if not - quite an effort!

The accommodation is relatively private, which is nice. The outdoors areas are great. There is quite a lot of noise from roosters, dogs, scooters etc, but this seems to be standard in most places in Ubud. Maybe invest in some earplugs.

We cooked for ourselves a lot and, whilst basic, the kitchen was quite adequate for simple meals. The internet was OK - a little bit patchy at time. As it's a shared connection it would get really slow if someone else was downloading.

Overall we had a great stay at this property.

  • Our family of three really enjoyed are stay there. The owner's son and manager, Chris, was especially welcoming, kind, responsive, helpful and good humor. Liya (our 9 year old girl) says: ''AWESOME ! ''. Mantra (mama) says it was very family-oriented, nice girls on staff for cleaning, nice architecture and kitchen. Love the terrace for breakfast and relaxation, reading and so on.

  • My fiancé and I stayed here for over week and it was just so lovely! Nyoman was away-but even so, was extremely quick with all of the questions I had via email, and her son Chris, was there to help us with anything we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer, and THAT is our only regret! Thank you Chris, Nyoman and Vicki for letting us be apart of your little piece of paradise!!

  • The e-mail contact with Vicki went very well. Unfortunately she could not greet us when we arrived in Ubud due to her recovery from a surgery. Her son Chris was very helpful and friendly and helped us with the questions we had. I recommend to hire a motorbike, walking to Ubud is 30 min. Despite the rainy season we enjoyed our stay at Bali Quaint bungalow.
We wish Vicki a speedy recovery and thank her and her staff for a pleasant stay.

  • Vicky responded very promptly to all my mails prior to my arrival; too bad that the orignally sought-after room wasn't available anymore! When I arrived Vicky was abroad and Chris did not only go out of his away to obtain a bike for me within no time (their own bikes were already rented out) but also shared valuable information about Ubud and was often available for a little chat. Thanks to both of you and until soon!

  • This was such a fantastic place to stay while visiting Ubud. The walk in to the center of Ubud (monkey forest, etc.) took umy friend and me around 35 minutes total but it was a really interesting walk which gave us the opportunity to see a lot of traditional houses, local families, and rice fields.
Vicki was very helpful with any needs we had while staying there and Ricky was an excellent driver.
    No complaints!
Our house was also lovely and BIG! with two bedrooms, a nice bathroom, and a front and back porch. We felt very spoiled. :) Additionally, the restaurant next door made delicious food!

  • I really enjoyed staying in the Bungalow - I had plenty of space, two terraces, a nice bed and bathroom for a nice price in a friendly, safe and calm atmosphere. Vicky was very kind and helpful, giving me information about everything I wanted to know. If I come back to Ubud I would always want to stay in this place again. I warmly recommend it to every traveller.

  • My friend and I had a very lovely and relaxing time staying with Vicki and her son Chris. The room was very clean and maintained by the very attentive housekeepers. The cottage is a short 10min scooter ride into town. Vicki also arranged an excellent cooking class for us. Would stay here again when visiting Ubud.

  • We stayed at Vicki's place for a month and it was perfect! Our only regret is we didn't get to spend more time there. Vicki was incredibly helpful pre- arrival giving us information about transportation from the airport, banking, scooter rentals, anything we asked. When we arrived we were not dissappointed as everything was as advertised and Vicki was even more helpful setting up our scooters for us the day we got in and making sure we had all we needed. I can say without hesitation that Vicki is the most prepared host I have ever stayed with and made everything so incredibly easy. We would absolutely recommend staying here. (We also recommend having a form of transportation as the walk to town is a bit long and our scooters saved us since we were back and forth a lot.)

    Thanks again Vicki!

  • This was our first Booking with Airbnb. We came back from trekking at Vulcano "Batur" and to arrive at Vickis place was like finding an "oasis".

It`s appx 1 mile from the mainroad of Ubud and it provides you exactly what you need, when you arrive from a long trip. A very nice room with strong stonewalls, that provide a good temperature even in the afternoon, when heat outside reaches the highest level.

The bathroom surprised us with a modification, which we missed in all the other hotel rooms we stayed in Bali: Vicki separated the shower from toilet by a wall, thanks :-)

We spent all the afternoon on the terrace & walked through the ricefields in evening in the close surrounding, enjoyed the incredible scenery and sunset.

In Vickis closest neighbourhood, you find 2 restaurants & a shop which is open, even when you come "home" late to (email hidden) on the terrace. A kitchen is also offered in a small adjacent building.

Vicki took all the time we needed to answer our questions. If we would travel to Ubud again, we would definitely go there.
