About This Listing
Bang slap in the middle of the historical centre of Rome, our home is a lovely, sunny, newly furnished 2-bedroom apartment. Located on the 4th floor of a 17th century building, it still has the airy, spacious feel of the old houses in the area, as well as the original wooden vaulted ceiling.
The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom, and the second bedroom has a pull-out day bed, which comfortable sleeps two people. The second bathroom has a corner bath and a fantastic shower that was converted from an old spiral staircase.
The apartment has two mobile air conditioning units, one in the master bedroom and one in the living room.
Our kitchen is modern fully equipped with the likes of a stove, oven, dishwasher, blender, juicer and Nespresso machine, and our guests are always free to use any food from the pantry. We have a good wi-fi connection as well as a washing machine and a tumble drier, and the building has an elevator, in case the thought of all those flights of stairs gives you the heebies.
We don't have a TV, but we do have a projector and a pull-down movie screen. And we leave a mobile phone with a local pay-as-you-go SIM card for our guests to use, on request.
All the windows in the apartment are full-length French windows that let in lots of light, but for the ultimate view, you can head upstairs to the shared roof terrace for a city vista that takes in the Pantheon dome and St Peter's, among other landmarks.
The apartment is just a few minutes walk from Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, the Pantheon and the bridge at Castello San Angelo. Also within walking distance are the Vatican, the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. It's an amazingly buzzing location, surrounded by cool restaurants, pizzerias and bars, though light sleepers should be warned that late-night revelries can sometimes be heard from the Irish pub below.
Unfortunately, the nearest metro, Barberini, is a bit of a walk, about 25 minutes. But there are bus stops nearby and a taxi rank just around the corner. There is also a very convenient supermarket a couple of blocks away.
This apartment is our home, and so do expect to find traces of our existence here and there! We leave the place clean and tidy, but our clothes will be in the closet and our cosmetics in the bathroom. We invite you to use our basic kitchen supplies, but we'd prefer to keep the other stuff for ourselves ;-)
There is a hanging space and drawers in the spare room for you to store your clothes.
Please don't smoke in the apartment, and please please please respect the neighbours' peace and quiet. Be aware that there are people living both below and above us, and that they get up early in the morning!
Nobody apart from you and your party is to be admitted into the apartment.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We stayed at Vanessa's place for 5 nights recently during our summer holiday. Firstly the place is amazing - a very large apartment - easily the most spacious we've stayed in during our trip through Europe. Situated on the 3rd floor, all rooms open to the beautiful cobbled streets of the historical centre below. The apartment is well decorated with interesting little pieces all over which gives the place a real homely feel - we particularly liked the 'trophy' wall with plaster animal heads and the big wooden dining table with mismatching chairs.
Secondly the location. Couldn't really be better. Right in the historical centre, spitting distance from Piazza Navona, numerous restaurants and shops. It's a 15-20 min walk to sights like Trevi, Vatican and Roman Forum if you walk with purpose. The great location does mean that there is street noise at night, but we shut the windows, turned on the fans and it was fine.
Finally Vanessa was a great host. She wasn't around to greet us but had her neighbour show us in. The check-in went fine. I texted her several times for pieces of info and she was very responsive replying immediately or within a few hours.
We loved the place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else.
Stayed for a week during a heatwave in August. Before we booked, we were concerned there was only one portable aircon but Vanessa came through and purchased a 2nd massive unit, which was fantastic as it allowed our toddler to nap in the bedroom while we stayed in the living room.
Apartment was very spacious, well equipped and clean, just like the pictures. Two bathrooms was a nice bonus. The blue shower was really cool. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need (except for a microwave!, which really didn't turn out to be much of a problem). Having a washing machine and dryer within the apartment was very handy, saved us having to venture out to find a laundromat.
The view out of the bedroom was amazing, excellent people watching. There's a large area in the living room for my toddler to spread out her toys and play. Although the apartment was on the 3rd floor (4th for us North Americans), there was an elevator.
Location couldn't be beat. Easy walk to Piazza Navona which was a lot of fun for my toddler. Tons of restaurants nearby and a great gelateria right across the street. Close to bus stops and taxi stands. 7 min walk to Campo dei Fiori.
Although we never met Vanessa, she was very responsive through email/texts. She called the day we arrived to make sure everything was OK. This was the first time we ever rented an holiday apartment. A very positive stay and would not hestitate to stay at Vanessa's place again.
Beautiful apartment in a great location.
Very nice and spacious, very clean, lots of light during the day, great central location with many restaurants near by, as well as a few well stacked markets. Also close to public transport and walking distance from the Vatican, Castillo San Angelo, the Pantheon ... you can even walk to the Colosseum. They do have an elevator but we just climbed the stairs and we never heard the neighbors. The shared terrace on the roof of the building is also very nice and we relaxed there in the evening with some wine. No bugs, no mosquitoes. Cool blue shower in the second bathroom.
Quite noisy until very late in the evening every night of the week - we had to sleep with earplugs. No central air so if you close the windows because of the noise then it gets very warm in mid July. The small portable AC is not quite enough for the second bedroom. [Best solution is windows open and sleep with earplugs]. As they advertised in their description, this is a lived in apartment ... their personal things are in every room. Clothing, makeup, food (even in the fridge) are left behind while you visit. We felt a bit uncomfortable because we are not used to that. Probably not a big deal for most folks.
Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous apartment! We were thrilled with the location, the size (big!), the abundant light, fun and comfortable decor, and ease of . . . well, everything. The apartment is delightful and makes you feel like you're a privileged guest in a secret space. The rooftop terrace is divine with a simply phenomenal view. I hope to visit again and again and again. Absolutely no negatives.
Vanessa's place was great!!! Clean, spacious and beautiful!
Plus to all the above, it is located in the very center of Rome, and have everything under your feet.
Thank you Vanessa for this great experience!!!!!
If you are looking for a great apartment in central Rome, walking distance to all the mayor attractions, Vanessa's apartment is the perfect choice. From the minute you book, till the time of arrival, Vanessa is extremely kind and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back :)
This place is just around the corner: you could almost spit on the people queuing outside in the evenings (dont!) from the living room window. Typical thin Roman pizzas, cheap and delicious.Via del Governo Vecchio Roma Lazio 00186
Great coffee joint, cheap, cheerful and nice sandwiches.Via della Pace Rome 00186
Very cool place to hang, as a cafe during the day and a very popular nightspot on weekend evenings, especially in the summer. The adjoining restaurant is also a great place to eat, but book ahead!Piazza del Fico Rome Lazio 00186
Very cool little joint serving some rather unusual French-influenced food. Always packed, so you might have to wait a bit, but its worth it.Piazza di Pasquino Rome Lazio 00186
This is a very pretty, though a bit pricey, cafe set inside the courtyard adjoining the Bramante church.Arco della Pace Roma Lazio 00186
This bakery on the corner of Campo de Fiori does great sandwiches at lunchtime.Piazza Campo de' Fiori Roma Lazio 00186

Just amazing gelato. Worth the trek. Enough said.Via dei Gracchi Roma 00190
Fans of meat should head here. Hip spot, a bit more alternative than the more traditional places in the centre. Delicious food.Via Galvani Rome Lazio 00153
