Interaction with guests
I'll be happy to greet you when you arrive, if I am in town and depending on the hour. Otherwise, you can get the key from the lockbox. Any questions about the place, or about Portland, once you're settled in, please do message me.
Very central, extremely vibrant. Truly there are more cafes and restaurants than I can keep track of, but I can recommend a few of my favorites. Portland was the original microbrew ground-central, and there are in this neighborhood in particular a ridiculous number of brewed-on-site pubs. An eclectic mix of clothing stores, ice cream shops, cafes and restaurants are minutes away by foot. The amazing New Seasons grocery/bakery/deli is a 5 minute walk away.
Lots of buses within a couple blocks. Light rail is a 15 minute walk away. Very affordable bicycle rental by day/week is a short walk. Citybbije share station 5 minute walk. 10-15 minute bike ride to downtown. A 20 minute drive to/from the airport (take Columbia blvd way, rather than I-84 during commute hours!)
Other things to note
The clawfoot tub may be a bit hard to use if you have balance issues or have difficulty stepping up into such things.
Shoes off inside please. No pets.
No smoking ( or vaping) in cottage or in the yard. Sorry, even if you are an outdoor smoker, please don't book.
You can use the washing machine and dryer located in the main house basement just a few steps away from the cottage.
Please keep any bicycles you bring/rent in the (street level) bike garage on hooks. Very convenient!
All guests: You'll be responsible for cleaning/ laundry during your stay.
(See house manual for location of cleaning supplies, keys to laundry, etc)
Please leave the space tidy when you check out, dishes washed etc. Key back in lockbox, in winter heat turned down and windows closed, in summer windows either closed or left open just slightly.

I have a strong interest in sustainable, bikeable, walkable cities. I love Portland because so many people here share a vision for a human-scaled city.
I don't use (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN), but would be pleased to meet you face to face :)
