Inner city convenience and excitement with the quiet serenity of a luxuriant garden setting. One block from cafés, bars and transport but with the peaceful setting feels a million miles away! Enjoy the winter sun or summer breeze on the rear deck. Cook up a storm in the chef's kitchen.
A 10 minute walk to the train station, our renovated home with wooden floorboards throughout is a fantastic place to relax - both indoors & out. Ultra modern & well thought-out kitchen design, spacious living & dining area & also my grandma's piano for the musically minded. Outdoors is our city 'secret garden' - large, established trees for some respite from summer temperatures, fruit trees, a vegetable garden (no maintenance required), lawn to lay on and to contemplate life & future travels.... We have just completed a lovely deck and patio in the rear courtyard - perfect for sipping mojitos as the sun sets in the west.
We have set the place up to be as sustainable as possible. Benefit from knowing you are using solar power during your stay and the majority of the timber is recycled, including the floors, table and bed. With the convenient location you can walk, cycle or use public transport to get anywhere!
The bedroom has a queen sized bed made from recycled Jarrah (a native Western Australian hardwood).
Please mention if you have a car so we can provide you with a parking permit for the street. The villa is not suitable for children.
Leederville is a 3 minute train ride direct to Perth city and it also only 2 stops to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is a vibrant place full of independent cafes, small wine bars, an art-house cinema, restaurants & shops for all your daily needs. Just a 10 minute walk to an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, local gym & library. Several parks are in the vicinity. One of which has a large lake with many beautiful birds. It is very popular with runners, walkers, cyclists & is especially breath-taking at sunrise & sunset. The closest of Western Australia's world-renowned beaches is a 15 minute drive/25 minute bus trip away. Please enjoy!
Other Things to Note
Having lived in Japan for sometime we have adopted the practice of leaving our shoes outside. We love lounging on the jarrah floors on our Indian cushions and hope you'll also enjoy the freshness of being barefoot in the house too!
No smoking inside please - there is plenty of outdoor space!
We like to know a bit about our guests - so PLEASE COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE so we can see what wonderful people you are!
We don't request a cleaning fee - so please leave the villa as you found it. All that really means is a sweep of the floor and a quick clean of the kitchen/bathroom surfaces.
We have a close community and value the friendship of our neighbours, so we do ask that you also respect this.
Had a lovely stay at James and Rebecca's Leederville haven. Great location close to the trainline as well as many shops, bars and restaurants. The house had everything we needed and it was great chilling out on the deck area at the back. We really enjoyed the bottle of bubbly they had left as a nice welcome, we would definitely recommend here!
James and Rebecca's place was exactly as described. It's in an extremely convenient location to get around anywhere in Perth, it walking distance to nice cafes, it's offers a very quiet place to get a night's rest and by far it's the cleanest Airbnb place I have ever stayed in.
We had a lovely time at James and Rebecca's place. It had everything that we needed and we felt at home. The terrace 'outside' is fantastic. A great place to relax and enjoy the sun. Location is great! Close bij Leederville, the city and a lot of good restaurants and bars. Really convenient for public transport as well. It was a perfect stay for us for two weeks!
I had a wonderful stay at James and Rebecca’s place. As I was in Perth for work I really appreciated having such a quiet and peaceful escape to go home to. Having never been to Perth before I couldn’t have asked to be in a better location, just a couple of minutes walk to central Leederville with all its cafes, restaurants and convenient shops (including a 24hr IGA). James and Rebecca were very friendly and helpful, great hosts.
I would highly recommend this place for both short visits and longer term stays.
I again stayed at James & Rebecca's in January 2013, sorry for the late review. I certainly enjoyed my stay in this great villa.
It is quite, peaceful and comfortable. A short stroll to cafes, bars and lots of good eat spots.
Regards & Thanks....Ray
This is frankly an excellent place to base yourself if you want to see the best of Perth. James and Rebecca's house is wonderful, with it being really close to some excellent cafes, public transport and some of the best that Perth has to offer. Sadly, I never met them but they made me feel comfortable and even arranged a permit for our hire car.
This is the second time we have stayed at James & Rebecca's place in Leederville and we love it. It is a tranquil zen like serenity in the middle of suburbia. A 5 minute walk to one of the best night venues in Perth (The Garden) and some amazing places to eat and drink on you doorstep.
We were given a beautiful bottle of Spanish Rioja on arrival which was a lovely suprise, and everything we could possible want was at our disposal.
Paula and I would highly recommend James and Rebecca's place for a long weekend in the City.
Rebecca & I LOVE travelling! For the past 10 years, we have both spent the majority of the time overseas. I have especially enjoyed time in South America, Spain, Portugal, France & Japan - be it working, studying, volunteering, or just enjoying hiking in the mountains or relaxing in cafes. I love playing the violin, cycling & speaking Spanish & French. I'm passionate about the environment & as such work in the promotion of sustainable transport.
As for Rebecca, she fell in love with the French language at the age of 12. Since then, she has been lucky enough to make several trips to France & has spent about 2 years there. French is her preferred language. She has spent 3 years in Japan & hence has a great appreciation of this culture, & especially tea ceremony. Her current passions - playing the celtic harp & making cheese. Rebecca teaches French, piano and harp.
