Beautiful home on Mt Tabor with three bedrooms, two full baths, sleeping nook, extra airbeds, piano, full kitchen on main floor and kitchenette in basement. Cozy house , safe neighborhood, beautiful gardens, near a great park, and we are very nice folks! We are looking forward to meeting you!
Our whole house has been completely remodeled inside and out- Eric has done all the carpentry and I am the main gardener! Our place is full of warmth and light, in a great location, and you can get fresh veggies by walking out the back door! We also know the city and the natural wonders nearby very well and are happy to help you with ideas and info.
Basement- bedroom, living room, kitchenette, extra air bed, washer/dryer, full bath, Internet, garden.
Whole house- all of the above plus main kitchen, large living room, fireplace, whole upper floor/ open floor plan with main bedroom, an extra sleeping nook, small office/ meditation space.
You can have as much or as little interaction as you would like.. The basement apt is accessed through the main house but you have privacy once you enter the apt. If you are renting the whole house, we hope to meet you on your way in or out! We are very friendly and hospitable but we like respect people's privacy and need for down time.
Everything! It's beautiful, safe, quiet, 2 blocks from mt. Tabor park, a few blocks from a playground and about 12 blocks from movies and restaurants!
There are buses about 6 blocks away in either direction and, of course, taxicabs that are very prompt.
I speak Spanish, some French and some sign language. Eric knows a few words of German but seems able to joke in any language. There is a piano you are welcome to use if you are renting the whole house.

Anne and Eric, although we did not meet, were warm and welcoming. The check-in details and process were smooth. This is a quaint and creative cottage and we rented the whole house. As the listing details, this is the owner's permanent home and does not feel like a holiday rental. It has a lovely feeling, like staying in a friends house, rather than a holiday home. Some visitors may be challenged by the standard double bed sizes. Portland is a great city and this house is in a great area to access everything - Mt Tabor Park is at the end of the street and is Fantastic!
We had 3 generations of adults in town for Xmas, and this house was PERFECT for all of us. It is obviously handcrafted, and is just beautiful. The location was perfect. Eric was onsite the first day and was sweet, friendly, and helpful; Anne has been fabulous about communicating with us. I would TOTALLY recommend this to adults who are looking for a great Portland stay (there are lots of wonderful items that would be too enticing for little ones to leave alone.) ALL THUMBS UP!
We enjoyed our stay with Anne & Eric who were very thoughtful and welcoming and pleasant to deal with, knowledgeable about the city and helpful about places to go. They devised a nicely arranged space to accommodate three of us. The house is in a quiet neighbourhood with a lovely hilly park for walks and handy to the wonderful Hawthorne area with lots of shops and restaurants.
The basement apartment is cute, nice open layout, cute bathroom. It has a fridge and microwave in the little dining nook area. Overall nice place to stay. My only complaint is that there's not much of a sound barrier between the basement apartment and the upstairs.
Hosts were very nice and accommodating. There was a really cool old looking dollhouse for my daughter to play with, she loved it!
Anne and Eric's house was a wonderful place to stay. As a musician myself, her house and its music room was a perfect place to play the piano and compose in a quiet environment. The house is very comfortable and Anne was accommodating and gave me all the info I needed. I didn't actually get to meet them as they were away, but I hope to cross paths with them the next time I need a place to stay in Portland. I would definitely stay here again.
I enjoyed my stay at Anne and Eric's place. It was clean, quiet, and Anne and Eric are fabulous hosts and fun people to meet! I used to live near Mt Tabor, so I wanted to stay near there on my visit back to Portland. The park is a quick walk up the hill, and the Hawthorne district is a short bus ride away. I would definitely stay there again!
Anne and Eric's house was perfect for our needs, and communication with A&E was easy and quick. We were happy to accept a discount by changing the sheets ourselves. A proper Portland feeling home - lovely gardens especially!
