A place in the heart of Moscow, next to all the main sights and fancy areas. Lots of restaurants nearby. All reachable by foot.
I designed the apartment myself and tried to fit all my needs. It has all you may need. A fully functioning kitchen. A bathtub and a shower. No TV as I don't watch it :)
There's a museum dedicated to the building next door. It was completed in 1931 as the Government Building, a residence for the Soviet elite.
The access to the apartment is as easy as can be any time as the doorman is there 24/7 and he has the keys.
Interaction with Guests
I am always trying to be there in person when you arrive, but sometimes I'm busy and the doorman will hand you the keys. But I'm always reachable by phone, e-mail or airbnb to assist you in anything. Just ask :)
You literally see Kremlin when you come out of the main door. 10 minutes to the walls of Kremlin through the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge and a little longer to Red Square through the picturesque Alexander Garden!
Within a walking distance are the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Pushkin Museum, the Red October - the new fancy area with lots of bars, restaurants and nightclubs, Gorky Park is just 20 min walk along the river with great city views and new Krimskaya Embankment walking spot (see pics) with street art gallery where you may buy a piece of art or get a coffee or mulled wine.
A 24/7 supermarket 10 meters away!
Lots of restaurants around (see guidebook!)
You are in the heart of Moscow, so everything is reachable by foot.
- Uber (UBER app)
- Taxi (Gettaxi app)
Four different subway stations 15 min reach:
- Alexander Garden
An automated velobike rental station next to the building.
One of my 3 skateboards/longboards
Ferry station next to the building, to take you on a river trip with great old town scenery.
Other Things to Note
I'm always there if you need any assistance.
NO smoking, but you're welcome to use incense sticks.
Please keep the noise down 11pm - 8am. This is restricted by law in Russia and if the neighbours break the rule, the police is there to help you!
I'm always there if you need any assistance.
Excellent apartment and Alex is great! The place is right in the heart of Moscow. Only 10 minutes walk to the Kremlin and 10 minutes to the Red October district where there are loads of cool bars/ clubs! Alex was great and kept in contact with us the entire time. Definitely recommend!
The reservation was canceled 19 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Alex's studio is the right place if you need to be in Moscow down town - walking distance from most centrally located city spots.
Alex is a host, any host should be - responsive, flexible, friendly. Thanks!!!
I stayed with my girlfriend at Alex's studio for two weeks in November. I am so glad we did.
The studio: It's a bit small, but has everything you need - a good-sized and a separate futon, a kitchen, and a nice-sized bathroom. Wi-fi was fast and consistent, the laundry machine in the unit made our two-week stay possible, and everything else we needed was there - kitchen utensils, hair dryer, etc. etc. The first-floor location right near the doorman made getting in and out with our luggage very easy. Everything felt clean and safe.
The location: The studio is right in the middle of Moscow. When you step out the front door of the apartment building, you are a few steps from the Moscow River and can see the Kremlin and the Church of Christ the Saviour; they are each about a 10-minute walk away. We had no trouble walking to sightseeing locations, subway stations, bars, restaurants, or shopping, even in the cold November weather. When we didn't feel like walking, Uber in Moscow is reliable and far less expensive than it is in the States - $3-10 per trip at most. There is also a 24-hour grocery/general store directly next to the apartment that was extremely convenient for food, toiletries, or whatever else.
Alex: The ultimate host. Alex responded to countless emails and questions before and during our trip, gave recommendations for where to go, instructions for how to get around the city, and generously helped us with whatever else we needed. As just one example, when I asked Alex about tickets to a sold out ballet at the Bolshoi because I was having trouble figuring out the Russian-only ticket resale sites, Alex got me the tickets without any hassle for less than the resale sites were charging.
If you're going to Moscow, especially for an extended trip, I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Perfect listing for my few days in Moscow. Alex left keys with the concierge in the building which made it really easy to get in. The listing is exactly as pictured. Lovely and clean and in a great block. Alex left me a welcome note and wifi details. The whole process was super easy and exactly what I needed for my work trip. Thanks!
Thank you Alex for your hospitality. Your studio is in fact decorated with style and conveniently located next door to a grocery store though not too close to any other conveniences such as restaurants or cafés... nor the Kremlin as you suggest. The walk is a bit far in cold temperatures!
Thank you Maryse.
I'm sorry you had to experience the cold weather conditions in Russia, but weather is not something I can control. Nevertheless no matter the weather conditions (storm wind, blizzard or hail) the distance from my apartment to the walls of Kremlin doesn't change. It's exactly 750 meters.
On the other hand the length of the walls of the Kremlin is 2,5 kilometres and it's territory is 27,5 ha. So if you need some specific part of it, the walk can take longer.
There're about 20 very good restaurants I know that are 10-15 min walk from the apartment. And most of them are listed in the guidebook of the listing's description. I would have loved to share this information with you if you ever asked me.
I'm always there to help my guests.
Very nice place at perfect location. I haven't met Alex face to face but he helped me a lot. He is a great host. Apartment is full of appliances. Red Square is very very close from the apartment. I definitely consider to stay at his place in my next visit to Moscow.
A few words about myself.
Originally from Moscow. A typical guy from this area :)
I love all the extreme sports. Fast cars, motorcycles, parachuting, skateboarding and much much more. I like to stay fit and eat healthy food.
I'm traveling a lot and leave my beloved apartment all alone.
So I decided it needs company sometimes :)
I enjoy meeting new people and will be there if I can to meet you on arrival and available to answer any questions you may have about the apartment and Moscow in general.
Waiting for you soon!
