This is my second stay at Micah's apartment and I love it, its walking distance to Double Bay and Bondi Junction and beaches. You are always made to feel welcome and the apartment contains absolutely everything you need.
Our family of four had a wonderful week at Micah's apartment. Micah's father, Arthur, and his partner Everlyn were very welcoming and helpful. They live in the apartment upstairs so it was easy to ask questions and it was always a very pleasant encounter when our paths crossed. We had a car and found no problem with parking - unrestricted on-street parking was always available within close distance of the apartment.
The apartment itself was beautiful and exceeded expectations. It had a lovely airy feel with floorboards and plantations shutters throughout and it opened up well for a cross breeze. Off the lounge room at the front were glass doors opening onto a beautiful courtyard surrounded by garden, this was my favourite spot for a coffee. The balcony at the back was also terrific, with views over the lovely back garden, treetops and city, and with a big table at which we had all our meals. We regularly walked to Bondi Junction, about a 20 minute walk and not too steep. It was a shorter distance to the Double Bay shops but the steepness of the walk made this a bit more of a challenge for us! There were cafes just a few minutes walk from the apartment, we quickly found a favourite - Creme Brulee patisserie. This apartment really was special, and it was such great value. Thanks so much to the hosts for providing affordable accommodation in this very beautiful part of Sydney. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and to stay again.
The location was excellent, the place is very nice and well-maintained. The terrace looking over to the city was the place of many quiet evenings after the kids went to sleep. Certainly one of the best places we stayed at in Australia (and we are frequent visitors). The hosts were very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
We didn't meet Micah as he was away but his father and partner were very welcoming and went to the extra effort of providing a Christmas tree, card, wine and fruit - was a lovely touch as we arrived on Christmas Eve.
The apartment was lovely - big, comfortable spaces and we felt very at home. It was a shame the BBQ area was shared as this wasn't made clear in the description, but we had a lovely balcony which we sat out to eat on every day. The kitchen was quite small and not very well equipped, but the other rooms more than made up for this.
The neighbourhood was an upmarket, quiet area - meaning we felt safe but it was a bit of a journey to get into the city. There was a bus stop right outside the apartment, where you could catch a bus right into the centre, but it would have been a very helpful addition if the timetables were provided (for the trip to Bondi Junction too).
Something we loved was walking down the hill to Double Bay and catching the ferry into the city, which was a nice alternative to the long bus ride.
Overall, myself, my boyfriend and my mum had a lovely Christmas stay here. It was a home away from home and very welcoming to come back to after long days exploring Sydney!
Thanks for you input. Would you please let me know what you were lacking in the kitchen and I will get Micah to supply it. I will also see about new timetables. We did have them but it seems they have disappeared so sorry about that.
Hope you are enjoying the rest of your holiday.
This is the quintessential home away from home in Sydney. Perfectly situated in safe and well positioned neighborhood close to Sydney's city center and Bondi Beach. Our family of four was impressed from the moment Evelyn greeted us at the front (and first of 3 gates) to take us into her and Arthur's exceptionally charming and well kept home. Arthur and Evelyn were available for any questions during our stay.
High marks for cleanliness, well-appointed and comfortable decor, layout and the huge bonus is the large terrace off one of the bedrooms. It overlooks a small garden with the Sydney skyline and harbors in the backdrop. In the front, off the lounge area, there is also a lovely patio. The kitchen was adequately stocked with utensils and dishes for cooking and dining in. We wish we could have stayed longer. There is no question that when we come back to Sydney we would love to stay here again!
Excellent apartment. Stayed here for three weeks with my husband and two children and we felt like at home. We were welcomed by Arthur and he and Evelyn were very friendly and helpful. And Micah promptly replied to any of our enquiries before and during our trip. The apartment had comfortable beds, clean sheets, amazing balcony with fantastic views and even the possibility for a BBQ. The apartment is very child-friendly and the location is amazing. It is close to Bondi Junction shops and Double Bay shops and a walking distance to a beach (Seven shillings). You have the choice of either bus, train or ferry to the city and I highly recommend taking the ferry. We had a great time here and would recommend it to anyone!
The flat is amazing - big selling point is the massive balcony with city views. The flat is spacious, very clean and well decorated!
We were met by Micah's father, Arthur, who is a legend and very, very helpful.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Sydney - this is the place. 10 min walk to Bondi junction for shops and short train trip to city, 15 mins walk to Bondi beach and short walk from Double Bay.
