Gary was a very gracious and accommodating host. I immediately felt welcomed and at home moments after meeting him. The home itself is very spacious, open, clean and beautiful, with all amenities provided for. It is also very close to the nearby ski resorts and 10 mins away from Frisco where you will find stores and restaurants. I think the best part of my stay was my interaction with Gary... I enjoyed Gary's grounded and serene nature, and our entertaining, informative and deep conversations. My only regret is not being able to stay longer! I will definitely be back again for a wonderful stay with Gary! Thank you so much!
Staying at Gary's home was a smooth as it gets. I arrived and chatted with Gary for a while. He's a very interesting character and has a lot of powerful insight to offer, especially for a 21 year old like myself. Gary's room was comfortable and had two double beds in it. The bathroom was a bit of a walk but didn't bother me at all. Gary had plenty of comfortable towels in the bathroom to be used. I shared the bathroom with a younger couple that was staying in the room right next to the bathroom. This wasn't an issue at all. I was tired and the room was great. Exactly as described. Gary has a well behaved dog that lives with him and a very nice pad right near swan mountain pass. You don't have to deal with the breckenridge traffic and I was 10 minutes from keystone. I had a great time and look forward to staying with Gary In the future!
Gary's place was an absolute delight to stay at. The place is clean, well maintained and Gary is a really really great host. He made us feel welcome right from day 1. The room was cozy and clean. The house is clean and we would hang out with Gary in his living room having some really nice conversations and meeting some wonderful people when we were not out skiing. There was warm coffee in the morning and a detailed list of restaurants we could go to in out room. He also lets you use his kitchen if the mood to cook a meal comes upon you. .
Its a really convenient location if you are on a ski break like we were. Breck , keystone, A-basin are all minutes away. Also the place is really close to Frisco which is an excellent location for all your restaurant and other shopping needs. We preferred it to wandering in the tourist ridden town of breckenridge.
I would definitely love to come back to live at Gary's if i am looking for a Air BnB at breckenridge. It was a pleasure getting to know Gary and a fun ski trip :)
Gary greeted us when we stopped by before a day on the hill in Breckenridge and offered to let us leave the car there. Catching the Summit Stage bus from his place was a bit challenging so we drove anyways.
The room was perfect, it felt like home, and Gary was a joy to talk with as he has lived quite the life so far. It is a great spot to stay for quick and easy access to any of the mountain resorts. You will not regret staying with Gary!
I felt comfortable and welcome thoughout the entire stay. Gary was a fantastic host. I highly recommend Gary's home to anyone traveling to Breckenridge.
We had the best time snowboarding in breck, Gary was an amazing host, had the best stories a man could have, it's a shame we didn't have more time to listen to everything he had done, the house was great, with a beautiful sight, there was nothing else we could need thank you very much Gary

I am a 73 year old college professor who is married with five children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. I was born in a small town in Iowa. Left Iowa in 1960 and spent four years in the Air Force as an Intelligence Specialist in England, France and Germany. Went to college and became a New York City Police Officer, Lakewood (CO) Police Agent, Summit County Undersheriff, County Coroner, County Commissioner and Colorado State Representative. I have taught at Metro State University in Denver, Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood and Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge and Dillon. I have five earned college degrees in English, History, Management, Psychology and Human Communication.
The five things I can't live without.
1. My family.
4. Summit County, Colorado.
5. Spicy food.
My favorite travel destinations.
Mexico, Guatemala and Ecuador
I prefer non-fiction books. Historical biographies and recent academic studies.
I really do not watch movies. The entire industry has become very poor. If a movie gets outstanding reviews I might go see it prior to the Academy Awards.
I like all kinds of music without respect to the type of music.
I will eat any and all kinds of food. I really do not have a preference.
As a host I offer a life of varied experience. I have lived and worked all over the world except in Asia. I spent most of my life as a police officer and have taught at the college level since 1970. I teach a total of 27 different subjects and truly enjoy all of them. I get paid to teach but if I were not paid I would still teach for free. I moved to Colorado in 1970 and have lived in the mountains most of that time.
I am very open minded and liberal. I believe that people should be able to live their personal lifestyle without criticism or judgement.
As a host I feel it is my role to help guests as much as possible and to be a resource into the Colorado Mountains and Summit County.
My life motto is to "Take it easy" and let what will be alone.
