I am a 73 year old college professor who is married with five children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. I was born in a small town in Iowa. Left Iowa in 1960 and spent four years in the Air Force as an Intelligence Specialist in England, France and Germany. Went to college and became a New York City Police Officer, Lakewood (CO) Police Agent, Summit County Undersheriff, County Coroner, County Commissioner and Colorado State Representative. I have taught at Metro State University in Denver, Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood and Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge and Dillon. I have five earned college degrees in English, History, Management, Psychology and Human Communication.
The five things I can't live without.
1. My family.
4. Summit County, Colorado.
5. Spicy food.
My favorite travel destinations.
Mexico, Guatemala and Ecuador
I prefer non-fiction books. Historical biographies and recent academic studies.
I really do not watch movies. The entire industry has become very poor. If a movie gets outstanding reviews I might go see it prior to the Academy Awards.
I like all kinds of music without respect to the type of music.
I will eat any and all kinds of food. I really do not have a preference.
As a host I offer a life of varied experience. I have lived and worked all over the world except in Asia. I spent most of my life as a police officer and have taught at the college level since 1970. I teach a total of 27 different subjects and truly enjoy all of them. I get paid to teach but if I were not paid I would still teach for free. I moved to Colorado in 1970 and have lived in the mountains most of that time.
I am very open minded and liberal. I believe that people should be able to live their personal lifestyle without criticism or judgement.
As a host I feel it is my role to help guests as much as possible and to be a resource into the Colorado Mountains and Summit County.
My life motto is to "Take it easy" and let what will be alone.
