Lovely apartment, super location in Fairmont, easy access to downtown via the #33 bus. Warm welcome from Marcia with lots of practical advice about getting around. If I ever return to Philly, this is where I'll stay!
The apartment was very nice and Marcia was an incredibly gracious and helpful host. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom very nice with plenty of shelving for toiletries which I greatly appreciated. There was a microwave, small frig, electric kettle and toaster but no kitchen sink. Marcia very thoughtfully provided packets of instant coffee, tea, sweeteners, hot chocolate and microwaveable popcorn as well as paper plates and plastic utensils. The location was also super - both in terms of getting to places I wanted to see as well as proximity to drug store, ATM, wine store, restaurants and cafés. A While Foods grocery store was within walking distance as well.
We enjoyed our stay in Marcias' home! The area was pleasant. Parking was not a problem. The room was clean, cozy and accommodating. Everything we needed was in walking distance. Eastern State Penitentiary was down the street and museums just a few blocks further. Many restaurants to choose from. Marcia and Fran were beyond friendly with us. They made our stay extremely comfortable. Thanks ladies. We will definitely be booking with you again!!
This is our first airbnb, and we are glad we chose it. The location is great for the museums, and good for transportation.
The large one-room living area worked well overall. The bed could be better, and because it's a basement living space, noise from upstairs might be a factor for someone more sensitive.
Marcia C. is an excellent and friendly host, providing information and assistance, but not intruding.
This was our first experience using airbnb. My wife and I were visiting Philadelphia to see our son and go to the flower show. We picked Marcia's apartment because all the positive reviews. My wife and I couldn't agree more with those reviewers. Marcia and her sisters were gracious and wonderful hosts. We felt at home there. The apartment was great. The location great with restaurants in walking distance. And it was down the block from my wife's favorite attraction, Eastern State Pentitentary. We will definitely be reserving her apartment again in other visits to Philly. Thank you, Marcia.
We had a nice stay at Marcia's place in Philadelphia. The room was clean and comfortable, we had a nice welcome package with soups and stuff like that on our "kitchen's" table. The room is below ground level, so you can't open any windows and get your air-supply completely through the air-conditioning. But we never had issues with getting it right down there. The house is located at Fairmount, just a 20-minutes-walk from the city center. If you don't like to walk, you can take the bus which stops only 1 minute from Marcia's place. The overall experience was quite good. Marcia and her sisters were very friendly and so was the neighborhood. The only thing we missed was some space to put our clothes in. There are closets in the apartment, but unfortunately the were all filled up. If this little detail would be changed, we could give the room a 5-star-rating.
Marcy's home is very comfortable and in a good location. Marcy was flexible with my request to checking early and allowed me to book an extra day.
Marcy's sister Fran is a wonderful hostess and very helpful in providing me instructions to catching the bus to reading market and to the train station.
I will definitely make reservations on my next visit to Philadelphia.
Our first airbnb guest experience (we've been hosts at our Pied a Terre in Wilmington NC for the last year) Good communication with Fran about our arrival time, easy parking even in the snow near the front door, well appointed basement apartment with cozy memory foam bed. Drug store and wonderful bakery/deli/market on the same block. Easy access to art museum and downtown (we were in town for a wedding) We highly recommend Marcia's as very convenient, comfortable...and we'll be back. Thanks
Everything about our stay was amazing! We're definitely staying here everytime we visit the east coast! Thanks again, Marcia! You're awesome!
Marcia and her sister Fran were great hosts. Communication was smooth, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the stop for the 33 bus to the convention center was on the corner. And the best part was when Marcia was nice enough to let me stay in the upstairs unit for the last 2 days of our stay as she had no other guests coming in. Will definitely look Marcia up the next time I'm in Philly!
