We spent three nights at Jacob's studio apartment, and it was great! Jacob was helpful and attentive. We had no problems, and the area was a lot of fun. So glad we chose it.
Many good things to say. Jacob was very responsive and easy to work with - even let us store luggage in the apartment after check-out time before a late flight out of San Francisco. The apartment was clean, well appointed and a good value for the price. The real value though is in the location - numerous restaurants, coffee shops, bars, parks, shops, and access to public transportation within just a very short walk. Restaurants La Boulange, Souvla, and Loving Cup are all visible from the unit and each became a fast favorite during our stay. The only minor issue we encountered was trouble accessing the internet in the apartment but again, Jacob was responsive and said he'd do what he can to fix the access issue.
Jacob was not present when checked in but provided ample information for us to self-check in / check out. The apartment is in the most perfect location. We loved Hayes Valley. Heaps of cool local boutiques and coffee shops. The fridge wasn't working when we were there but I'm sure Jacob has had this fixed since we've left. Would happily stay here again.
Perfect location! Great little studio with everything you need. Jacob also accommodated our early arrival letting us leave our bags.
Very communicative and quick to answer questions. The apartment was just as it looks in the photos. Great neighborhood!
Nice location, plenty of places to eat or grab a coffee nearby. A little noise from the street, but Jacob had served us with earplugs so that was not a problem.
The apartment was minimalistic and spacious enough for two. It was clean, although there was barely any drainage in the shower, so we ended up filling the bathtub after every shower. A nice stay, but maybe a bit overprized.
Very safe and great neighborhood with lots of little cafes around. Very walkable to the main shopping area, about 30 minutes or so.
Apartment is clean and comfortable and had basic necessities. Sunlight streams into the room so it was beautiful. Heater works well so that was great. Wifi also works great! But I think the room really needs a little more furnishing. A TV, microwave and a hairdryer perhaps?
Kitchen is right next to the room and no matter whether you turn on the stove or not, there's a very strong smell of gas once I stepped in. Also, the kitchen door lock is spoilt so I had to use my luggage to keep the door closed at all times. We wanted to use the oven to cook some things but we couldn't figure out how to operate the oven. Apparently it's some oldish oven which you have to light manually with a match. Spent a very long time googling the make of the oven and trying to figure out how to use it because there wasn't any oven manual, plus Jacob was uncontactable as he was traveling. Gave up in the end.
About the Host, Jacob
Originally from Nebraska, I moved to San Francisco from the East Coast last year. My time in San Francisco has confirmed that I want to spend the remainder of my life centered on the West Coast, though perhaps not in San Francisco itself. I'm using Airbnb since a sizable chunk of my time is also spent Los Angeles, where I'm currently recovering from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident last spring.
Please feel free to message me with a booking inquiry. I find I work best with guests who are quiet, respectful, tidy, and self-sufficient (I'm plenty hospitable, but a concierge I am not). It pleases me to be able share this awesome, adorable space with other cool, friendly people when I'm away. I love San Francisco and am happy to tell you all kinds of awesome things to do here during your visit!
(For those who book, please do me a favor and familiarize yourself with the House Manual here on Airbnb so as to establish mutual expectations before your stay.)
