CRÈME CARAMEL is an apartment located in the Castello neighbourhood. It is furnished with elegance, practicality and taste. In every detail we notice the owners' constant attention in creating a welcoming environment equipped with all comforts to make the guests (email hidden)ème Caramel is on the first floor in a completely restored building in a picturesque street near the Venetian Grand Canal: the "Calle della Vida".
It is composed of a large kitchen-living room with a comfortable sofa that can be made into two separate beds or into a double bed, a bedroom with double bed and a bathroom. It is the ideal apartment in which to spend a holiday for a family or for one or two couples in Venice.
The kitchen is fully equipped as befits the great Italian culinary tradition. The apartment is equipped with all facilities, dishwasher, air conditioner, LCD satellite TV, DVD-MP3 player, internet connection, microwave, washing machine, American and Italian coffee maker, toaster, hairdryer, iron, central heating and security box.
The neighbourhood which opens onto the beautiful St Mark's sea basin, is very characteristic: the lively Via Garibaldi with its fish market, fruit and vegetables stores and the finest shops in the centre, going from designer shops to small craft ones, are within walking distance. Every day you can choose a different restaurant among the many of the area or buy local products in a grocery store for those who prefer to cook at home.
We had a lovely stay at Creme Caramel. The place is nice and clean, easy to find and has everything you need. Faville Tours are very helpful and service-minded, only complaint is that you are forced to pay 20€ if you arrive after 8 pm.
Crème Caramel is a very nice flat, its position is perfect : just between the biennale and San Marco...and in a calm street.
We were three adults, and it was ok for us.
So it was a very good journey !
Great stay in terms of location, room, greeting and WiFi. Would definitely stay again. We stayed with four of us, without much luggage, and it worked well. Nice touch having a novel about Venice and the Death in Venice DVD in the room.
Good location, very dark and small apt, OK for 2, but not very comfortable for 3 or 4, very expensive surcharges (cleaning, late check-in). Listed as "private parking available" but when requested, we were just told - park in the public garages... Quick communication, but a bit impersonal (managed by a travel agency)
Amazing stay at Creme Caramel apartment while visiting the Biennale. Marco was very nice and helpful when meeting and showing us around the Appartment. It is in such a perfect location, loved everything about it. Clean and tidy and everything you need in a Venice get away. Easy to book and straight forward to deal with. Thank you we will be back!
Great place.. very clean. Good location just off the Arsenale stop. Great kitchen with all the cooking utensils. The staff who came to meet us was very professional and we felt very comfortable. The bathroom is very small but minor issue with us. Thanks for a great time in Venice.
The apartment was well presented, nice and clean. it is much smaller than anticipated, and looked somewhat larger in the photos. It was actually a good space for a couple and a10 month old baby. The shower is also VERY small (as is the standard in Italy, but I felt this was particularly smaller) and although it sleeps 4 I wouldn't consider it if you have luggage for more than a night's stay. We were very happy with the service from Faville Tours. Marco was very thorough and despite the flooding and the rain managed to get a baby cot in on last minute request, so we were very happy with the service.
Location wise this place was a few mins from the Vap stop and close to St. Marco's so very well positioned. The apartment itself is small but comfortable. However, other things that matter to me were missing:
1. Light - very poor natural light. The windows look out onto walls of adjacent buildings and so you have to keep the lights on at all times. Not a big deal if you are planning on staying out anyway.
2. Hospitality - first airbnb place I've stayed where they don't even provide soap to wash hands with!! You have to buy your own and also toilet paper pas the first small roll. It costs 50 cents to provide a small bar of soap so it's poor hospitality not to do so. Imagine people flying or taking the train from far places coming to the place and needing to go to the toilet and wash up - well you can't because there isn't any soap. Something very basic if you ask me!
3. Noise - there was a big sign in the stairwell for us to keep noise level down especially past 10pm. Yet, the people staying above us were super noisy and were talking loudly, dragging furniture around and playing music till past midnight at which point we had to go up and ask them to stop. Overall too, the walls are very thin and you hear every single movement and sound. When people above flush their toilet, you feel like the water is going to fall on your head because the plumbing runs behind the bathroom wall I guess and it's loud
4. Safety - we came back on day 2 to find our front door open. As panic set in, the upstairs folks came down and said that they had been robbed and their laptops, tablets and valuables were gone. The thief was in our place but escaped through the windows when he heard noises from the upstairs people returning home. Nothing of ora was taken but we didn't sleep that night our of fear.
I will never go back here again.
I had a pleasant stay in this apartment with no problems at all - the apartment is recently renovated and fully kitted out for all standard needs, including a full kitchen with cooking utensils. The internet worked fine throughout my stay. The area is peaceful but still very close to the main sights of central Venice (San Marco's is about 10 minutes away). Vaporetto stop Arsenale is a one-minute walk away.
The staff running the agency were very helpful - when I had a request it was replied to within minutes, and a small initial problem with the hot water was fixed very quickly, before I needed to use it.
I would very much recommend the apartment to those wanting a nice place to stay in central Venice.
