About this listing

I offer a clean and simple studio in the heart of Logan Circle, DC's most centrally located and hippest neighborhood. If you are searching for an affordable, easily accessible place look no further!

The space

This first floor studio apartment is in Logan Circle, one of DC's most centralized neighborhoods famous for unique restaurants and nightlife. This building is an easy walk from the monuments, museums, White House and three metro stops. The apartment has shiny hardwood floors, lots of natural light and comes with an internet connection. Their is a window air conditioning unit that is very powerful and can be set to whatever temperature keeps you comfortable. Street parking is available overnight but is only 2 hours between 7AM and 9PM. However for an extra $30 I can get you a two week visitor parking pass which allows you to park all day on the street. I love welcoming people and connecting them to the sights and attractions that this great city has to offer.

The building itself is a medium sized apartment complex - 5 floors with an old elevator. It is a blue collar building, nothing fancy and filled with a diverse mix of young professionals and families .

Responding to recent guest feedback I have rearranged the living/sleeping area of the apartment swapping out older more bulky furniture for newer, sleeker items. Friends and family now agree the place feels much cleaner and spacious. Most importantly the room boasts a very comfortable, new queen-sized bed.

I recently put in a Roku connection complete with a Netflix account at my place. This should keep people busy on lazy days for hours!

Interaction with guests

Very little. I set things up as much as possible so guests come and go without being bothered. I am happy to grab a beer though with guests if they would like to talk to a local! Just let me know!!

Other things to note

Sometimes the neighbors/ first floor location can make the apartment a bit loud during the afternoon but it has always been quiet during the night. My place is a better spot for people looking for a no frills, comfortable spot in a great central location. People who plan to spend most of their time in the room, and are looking for a hotel like experience should definitely look elsewhere.

Charlie was a great host! He provided great information in a guest packet and added some nice, welcoming touches. The location is very walkable and close to pretty much everything.

Central location, walkable to the conference center, metro stops, grocery stores, and great restaurants. This rental is probably best for single travelers who plan on using the room as a place to crash at night. Space is tight for two people plus luggage. Charlie is a responsive host and quick to address any potential issues. The wifi is fast, and he kindly provided coffee, eggs, and bread for breakfast as well as a lot of great recommendations of places to visit in the immediate area.

The Good: Good sized-room. Very secure. Not as load as it could have been for a first-floor room. Bed is comfortable. He has everything you need (no need for towels, shampoo, etc.). Easy. Felt homey. Glad for the wifi and TV/Netflix access. Very very clean. More than enough pillows, which is a rare thing! Slept like a baby. It does get hot, but the windows open and have bars on them. Like I said, very secure. The Bad: Bathroom is old. Toilet needs replaced (pretty weak plumbing - not his fault). Shower needs new fixtures and were falling off the walls/there was a rusted fixture that stuck out. Just be careful getting in and out of the shower. The Ugly: Nothing. I'd stay here again - no question. Great location, especially if you're working in the area. Host is very nice and has everything in that apartment that you'd need if you needed to make a sporadic trip to DC. Love it. Will be back for my next business trip.

Centrally located apartment close to public transit. The host Charles provided us with a bottle of wine, breakfast items, and was responsive via email and phone.

Charlie's place was exactly what we needed for our one-night in DC. Check-In was super easy. Netflix available, walking distance to bars and restaurants. Also, the water pressure in the shower was SO good it will make you not want to leave.

I am a Washington DC native who grew up in the city and have spent most of the last ten years in my home town when not living abroad in Africa, Latin America, or Europe.

I am currently a government consultant here in town and travel a decent amount so would love to rent my place out to respectful individual who can use my great location to see all this amazing city has to offer!
