About this listing
Disconnect and recharge. Sleep all day in the hammock or swim in the pool. Enjoy organic fruit from the trees and ford the river just down the road. Hike up the hill and enjoy the views and the peaceful serenity.
This is a little farm with some fruit trees a couple of chickens, and a little dog. It's a peaceful place up a steep hill about 1 km outside of town. There is a sweet little family who takes care of the place and meals can be arranged for a small additional cost. This is a great base to explore San Francisco and environs. It is a culturally unique hamlet offering safety, serenity, privacy, peace, nature. The house has three bedrooms and sleeps at least 8 people (we've slept a lot more with flexible sleeping arrangements). The house is quiet, clean and well-maintained.
This property is great for kids, couples and families.
Guests can access the entire little farm except for the kitchen and service and mechanical areas.
Interaction with guests
Guests are mostly on their own, and will be served at mealtimes if agreed upon. I am often around but not intrusive.
The house is a 15 minute walk from the town, and there are great short and long hikes through coffee groves and to the river which has sometimes strong currents and cool ponds to swim in, and to walk over the rocks. the farm has a view of El Tablaso (the Big Tablet), a giant, awe inspiring high altitude rock formation.
The farm is accessible from Calle 80 in Bogota which takes you towards la Vega/Medellin. There are buses along this route and a taxi ride from Bogota is probably not too expensive. Getting into town is a short walk, or a 3 minute car or taxi ride.
This is a unique experience in a wonderful, peaceful and quiet country setting.
Other than simple rules of common courtesy, the only expectation is to enjoy yourself!
During your stay, staff will be nearby most of the time to assist you, however you will enjoy the fresh mountain air and stunning views, and forget just how close you are to civilization.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A LITTLE FARM so there are sometimes a couple of friendly small dogs and chickens maybe, but the animals are not allowed inside the house.
