This place is great for singles, couples, or friends. This is a 3 bedroom house, I stay in one room, and the other two rooms are available. One guest room is 200sqft with a Queen sized bed. The second guest room has a twin sized futon. The house has a large yard, and plenty of parking. Easy access to everything - beach, park, shopping, nightlife! This is a 60 year old beach house, it has a lot of charm, and a view of downtown and the bay (fireworks from SeaWorld when the season is right). The house is on the hill and south facing so there is a little extra sun as compared to being right at the beach, where it could be overcast.
This is a very central location for San Diego. Close to the airport & downtown (both within 15 min drive), shopping malls, and tourist attractions. You will find it is really easy to access the freeways and it's very easy to get to the beach.
I have bikes you can borrow. You are welcome to fruit, cereal, oatmeal, and juice for breakfast. The kitchen/fridge are available to you, but I do prefer if you don't prepare meat because I am vegetarian. I have nothing against carnivores; I've done my share of carnivoring in my day. You can bring in takeout or have some cold cuts.
I offer rides to and from the airport for $20 if I'm available.
And I'm always happy to give surf lessons as well!
I clean all bedding and towels within 24 hours of arrival.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
I had a really relaxing and fun time while staying at Max's place in the Pacific Beach neighborhood. I appreciated his prompt and courteous communication with me before my trip and his easy going, unassuming way during my stay. It was so nice to enjoy a quiet neighborhood for restful sleep. The front and backyard's beautiful plants, flowers and hummingbirds were impressive, expressing a true California vibe through the colors, historic style of the house and many surfboards as decor and for play. I rode one of the bikes all over the place, down to the beach, on the boardwalk, and up the coast to the LaJolla area. I'm really glad that I spent my time at Max's place.
The room and place is just as others describe: clean, very comfortable, quiet room in a vintage bungalow style home overlooking a mid-century residential neighborhood. Feels very safe. Plenty of street parking. I spent a full day enjoying the cool summer breezes while working from my laptop. Internet and cell coverage is good. Max is a really cool and talented guy who really cares about making sure my visit was going well. Kudos to him for great communication and warm hospitality which made my first AirBnB experience truly outstanding. He gets it! 1000 points.
Max is a great guy, very relaxed, chilled setting. As we walked in Max was having a rehearsal of his band, great music, that was an experience itself. Max have some bikes and some extra boards. He gave me some tips on the surf spots to go and we biked to Pacific Beach all the way to Mission beach. Great spot!
Max was great! Helped me get to where I needed to go to get hooked up with a cell plan. Nice guy to chat with, super down to earth. Bed was clean and comfortable. Would stay here again next time I'm in town!
Thanks Max for your hospitality,
Max was a very nice and quiet host. We could just move around and feel at home even without seeing and communicating all the time . That was very pleasant and natural!
He was so friendly to us and borrowed us bicycles and a surf board for my son! Lionel was so happy to make his first surf tries!!!!!
Max House is a very charmy and chilling place. We felt very comfortable.
The beach there is great!
A great experience!
My son liked Max a lot! He says that he was quiet and funny!
Max was EXTREMELY hospitable and welcoming. It's not terribly far from San Diego proper (easily accessible via a public transit line that connects Old Town and UCSD), but it'(email hidden) to unwind after a day traveling, particularly since the neighborhood is located in a quiet neighborhood.
Staying with Max was a breeze. We arrived a little earlier than expected and he was kind enough to welcome us into his home which was very neat and clean. The location has a great view of the hills, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach and even downtown from a distance.
Max (email hidden), had lots of great places for us to visit and had bikes for us to borrow too! There are surfboards we didn't use but the option is great to have. The house is a bit older but a great overnight spot to crash and very clean! We would stay here again.
Max was the man. Extremely hospitable and we had a good time hanging out. Max let me use his bike and foam surfboard, which was perfect for enjoying the beach. The bike had a board rack, so it was extremely convenient. It was probably a 20 minute bike ride to get down to the water. This helped me save a ton of money on board rentals and parking.
I heavily recommend staying with Max if you're looking to enjoy the Pacific Beach scene.
Max helped me out on short notice day of, to spend one night before my apt was ready to move in. The house was clean and Max was very nice, he provided everything I needed and if I needed another place to stay in PB i'd go back.
