  • We had an amazing time in Breckenridge! Our room is big and clean. Gary is an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable of Colorado. We highly recommend to anyone visiting Colorado and has skiing on the agenda. We loved our stay and already planning our next trip. We have the epic pass and Breckenridge is a great place to stay at. Everything is close by from ski resorts to restaurants/ bars. We were able to cook everyday, grocery store is super close. We are in the middle of Vail, Beaver Creek, A- basin, and Keystone. Thanks Gary for being super nice and sweet! You are awesome!! Can't wait to be back.

  • Really enjoyed our stay here. Great location - only a short drive to the charming town of Frisco, and Gary was a great host - very friendly and welcoming, and knowledgable about the area. A great place to stay if you're planning a trip to any of the surrounding ski resorts. Would definitely stay again!

  • Great time at Gary's place. We will go back for sure.

  • I stayed with Gary for 6 nights during a recent ski trip. Gary was a friendly host, and very accommodating considering my last minute booking. The room and house were spacious and well maintained, and Reina was good company on the day I took off from skiing.

The neighborhood was nice and quiet, and there was very easy access to the free (and frequent) shuttle into Breckenridge. I will definitely keep his place in mind as an affordable option for future trips.

  • Gary was a fantastic host! Not only was he extremely welcoming but he also gave us some great suggestions on places to rent equipment and eat. Would highly recommend staying with Gary and his wonderful dog Reina. If/when I return to the Breckenridge area, I'll definitely look at staying with Gary again. His place is in a great location right between Breckenridge and Frisco. It is extremely easy to get to any of the surrounding mountains.

Thanks again Gary for your hospitality and looking forward to staying with you again!

About
I am a 71 year old college professor who is married with five children, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. I was born in a small town in Iowa. Left Iowa in 1960 and spent four years in the Air Force as an Intelligence Specialist in England, France and Germany. Went to college and became a New York City Police Officer, Lakewood (CO) Police Agent, Summit County Undersheriff, County Coroner, County Commissioner and Colorado State Representative. I have taught at Metro State University in Denver, Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood and Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge and Dillon. I have five earned college degrees in English, History, Management, Psychology and Human Communication. The five things I can't live without. 1. My family. 2. Reading 3. Teaching 4. Summit County, Colorado. 5. Spicy food. My favorite travel destinations. Mexico, Guatemala and Ecuador I prefer non-fiction books. Historical biographies and recent academic studies. I really do not watch movies. The entire industry has become very poor. If a movie gets outstanding reviews I might go see it prior to the Academy Awards. I like all kinds of music without respect to the type of music. I will eat any and all kinds of food. I really do not have a preference. As a host I offer a life of varied experience. I have lived and worked all over the world except in Asia. I spent most of my life as a police officer and have taught at the college level since 1970. I teach a total of 27 different subjects and truly enjoy all of them. I get paid to teach but if I were not paid I would still teach for free. I moved to Colorado in 1970 and have lived in the mountains most of that time. I am very open minded and liberal. I believe that people should be able to live their personal lifestyle without criticism or judgement. As a host I feel it is my role to help guests as much as possible and to be a resource into the Colorado Mountains and Summit County. My life motto is to "Take it easy" and let what will be alone.
