Rent my quiet back from the street room in the East Village. It's private and has everything you need, from wi fi to a tidy bathroom.! Its an extremely safe 24 hour neighborhood. There's lots of work by local artists in my kitchen, and a washer dryer you can use with the guidance of your hostess - it drains into the sink, nyc tenement style! Couples are ok, its just extra~! The bed is full size and has pillows galore, and the linens are fresh. It's a third floor walk up, in a well maintained prewar building, My block has a couple of nice restaurants, Supper and Il Bogato, and my favorite pizza is Rizzo's, a block and a half away on Clinton Street. Its close to a lot of pubs and shops but my particular street isn't noisy or crowded - things go block by block here in manhattan. I've had good experiences with all my guests so far - we've both been lucky!
People are easy going here, they're not in such an incredible hurry, and I love to go to Tompkins Park, on 7th Street, and people watch in the central area. It's diverse, relaxed, and still quirky - the East Village and the Lower East Side are the best neighborhoods in NYC!
It's two blocks from the 2nd Avenue Stop on the F Train (Orange line_, a few blocks from the 6 (Green) line, Bleecker or Astor Place, and I'm fond of the 14A and 15 Limited, buses are one of the best ways to look around our city streets, especially China Town.
The apartment is in a 100 year old tenement building, and it slopes a bit - that's characteristic of the old East Village, as we're close to sea level and in fact as you get down towards Avenue D and C, you're on former swamp land!

We did not see Jennifer but a friend of her. The check-in was easy and it was possible to let our luggage in the kitchen our last day. The apartment is very well located and the room very clean. The little negative
point was the pipe in the room that was noisy sometimes during the night.
Jennifer is a great host! I'm really glad I spent a night there before I flew out of New York. Only wish I could stay longer. Also alphabet city/east village are great neighborhoods!!!
Très bon séjour chez Jennifer, notre programme assez chargé ne nous a pas permis de passer trop de temps avec elle, dommage! En plus le quartier est extra! Je recommande vivement.
I had a great time staying here. Great location; it's near a lot of good restaurants . perfect for those on a budget. Jennifer is fun and generous. I highly recommend it.
Jennifer was really acommodating to our last minute booking and she and her room mate were both friendly and welcoming.
This is the perfect place to stay in New York, in Alphabet City in Lower Manhattan. Jen was the perfect hostess, & made sure I was comfortable & had everything I needed. She gave me lots of information about he the locality. Could not have wished for a better stay.
I stayed 6 nights with Jennifer in December and had a great experience. Her apartment is centrally located in the lower east side, with close access to the Subway and walking distance to bars and restaurants. Jennifer was very accommodating and had interesting knowledge about the neighborhood. It was nice to have a laundry/dryer in the apartment. Thanks!
Everything I was hoping for. Warm, clean and safe. Great location.
Jennifer is very warm and welcoming. The room is comfortable and very quiet. The neighborhood is wonderful. The last really bohemian area in Manhattan. Chock full of bars, restaurants, shops, etc. A short walk to the train, the Lower East Side, Chinatown.
If you like Vietnamese food, be sure to try the V'nam Cafe for pho and banh mi.
