This is my new flat, I love it already and hope you will as well !!
I host guests only from time to time.
It is a penthouse on the top floor (with lift, a rarity in Paris) with an open view on Paris' roofs, the churches' bells, the facades, ... you can even see Montmartre! The view with no effort :)
It is of course super bright, I already enjoyed a few sunsets and dawns there, it has an AMAZING LIGHT!!!
It has been fully refurbished and decorated, with vintage and contemporary designers pieces, furnitures and antics that I love, and tropical plants and orchids. I wish I could put a hammock for a nap under the sunny sky of Paris!
- one bedroom with a king size bed or two singles

The flat is very quiet and very well isolated, with double glazing and black-out curtains to ensure you sleep quietly, in the middle of a very lively area.
There is an intercom, a code to enter the building and an armored door.
The location is excellent, between le Marais, Canal St Martin, Belleville and Bastille. The immediate area around the building is superb, filled with cafés, groceries, little shops, in a friendly atmosphere, you will soon know everybody.
The metro is one block away (Parmentier, line 3).
5mn away is the Republique metro station, which is more convenient, it is a major hub counting the majority of the lines, which is key in Paris to avoid changes :
- Direct line to Gare du Nord train Station (4 stops, 5mn) : trains to CDG airport and Orly airport, Thalys to Brussels and Amsterdam, Eurostar to London
- Direct lines to Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Opera, Hotel de Ville, Chatelet : 15 to 20mn.
I'd be very happy to host you soon and make you discover my home and my neighborhood.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon !

I was in the apartment 11th days in February 2014. The location of the apartment is superb. There is a Metro station just a two minute walk and ten minutes walk there is central station with a lot of lines. In short, you can easily and quickly to arrive to any place of interest in Paris. The area has masses of restaurants, bars, and supermarkets in each direction. The apartment has an excellent heating system and lots of light. Also, a big screen TV with many canals to those interested. Matt and Odile are also very helpful and whatever you ask will be accepted soon. However, take into account that the kitchen corner is small and it would be difficult to cook serious meals.
Loved staying at their place! Big for Paris standards. Really comfortable bed - beautiful view- great shower pressure. Key worked well. Close to metro. Lift. Great heating. Highly recommend:) if they don't get back to you right away don't worry they will:)
I stayed in the flat for over a week in January and found it a very comfortable and central place to nest in town. I particularly loved the windows along the side of the flat that kept it cosy and quiet and full of light while being simple to open & close. The wifi and entertainment system is very modern and reliable pretty much everything about the flat allowed you to feel relaxed and at home. If you are unfamiliar with Paris it is quite easy to find by walking up from the Republique Metro which is a fairly central hub. I'll certainly be back to Odile & Matt's place if it's available when I'm next in town.
I spend my life in hotels and airports, trust me it is a lot less glamourous than it may sound.
Nevertheless, I have developed an expert point of vu when it comes to accommodation and I am very picky.
I had a good feeling about Odile and Matt's apartment just by looking at the photos on the airbnb website. Well, I was not disappointed at all.
This charming flat has everything it takes for a prefect Parisian experience.
It is located in what I would describe as the MOST Parisian area within the center. In the sense that it is a true lively neighborhood compare to the classic touristy areas and you will mostly meet true Parisians around there.
The place is decorated with a discret and tastefull eye. What I really appreciated was the fact that it is incredibly quiet and that is worth gold in a big city. The lift was also a plus when you stay on the top floor.( which by the way offers great vus )
Large and comfy bed, large TV screen, and cute little kitchen side, I simply felt at home right away.
Great little apartment in a fantastic location. Hosts were brilliant and happy to help with any queries.
Clean and tidy, perfect for a couple wanting to experience Paris.
Overall, my wife and I, who spent one week in Matt's apartment, had a very positive experience. The apartment is as described and reviewed by many others. Its location is great. Matt was a very responsive host. On several occasions I contacted him via email with questions or problems and he responded quickly and adequately. The kitchen is very well equipped, but very small. It was good for preparing a salad or sandwich or reheating (on the stove top) a meal purchased in one of the terrific local épiceries or butcher's and we did manage an omelette one morning. Anything more elaborate would be quite laborious. But we didn't mind since there are so many excellent restaurants near by. There was also no coffee machine, tho when I informed Matt, he offered to get us one. By that time, we had purchased a French press. Our biggest complaint was not with the apartment or Matt, but with the arranged meeting with Odile. I had emailed her several times that we would be arriving at 4 PM. She never responded, tho Matt did and said not to worry. After waiting for her at the appointed hour outside the cafe for 10 minutes, I called her. She said, OK my daughter would be there in 15 minutes. We waited 50 minutes until her daughter arrived. She was very sweet, but clearly in a big hurry to get us in and get herself out. I had to be quite forceful with questions I had and of course left a couple of things out. My advice: write down questions you have so that you can get them answered. In the end, the poor introduction receded as we enjoyed the apartment and Paris, and received good responses from Matt, in addition to his excellent written notes on the area.
O apartamento é aconchegante e bem localizado.

The main feeling in response to this stay was one of disappointment. This was to be our fun luxury finish to our holiday. I had agreed to pay almost $700Australian for 3 nights for my sister and myself for what was described as a Superb 2BR Penthouse in Paris. It was a very basic apartment of backpacker standard with a pretty disgusting bathroom at luxury level cost. The shower wall kept falling off, there was no shelf in the shower and it was so small you could not bend over to pick up soap. The toilet would not flush for one day. There was really bad water damage in the wall between the bathroom and the living room. There were no drawers in the rooms and only a single cupboard in the hall (with a vacuum cleaner in it for us to use) not really anywhere else to hang clothes. BTW the second bedroom is the living room. The entrance to the building was grotty and the tiny lift was musty and smelly. The apartment had sea grass matting flooring which smelt musty and did not feel clean. The neighbourhood is "gritty".The reviews kept saying how great Matt was but we never met him. Odile met us at a nearby cafe and the apartment she took us to was not at the same address as the one I reserved (ie as listed in Airbnb). The blurb they sent said that they had left capsules for the Nespresso machine and when I asked where were they Odile said there was no Nespresso machine in that apartment.
On the positive side Odile helped us find a doctor for my sister and she replied to my early questions by text, but took a while to respond when the toilet did not work. (We used a saucepan to flush.) The beds were comfortable. The apartment was light and views nice.
They are clearly very clever with a camera and perhaps a bit of Photoshop as the photos give a very different impression to the reality. Such a shame for the end of our holiday. I felt ripped off big time. To cap it off we were expected to clean the apartment even though a cleaning fee was charged. The beds were not even made up when I got there. We did that ourselves.. We could have had a clean 3 or 4 star hotel with a proper bathroom (very important for my sister's medical condition at the time) 24 hour security for this price.
Matt & Odile's flat is in a great location and we loved the top floor breezy outlook. The space was just big enough for 3 of us for 3 nights, and it was pretty clean. The bathroom looks like it is under renovation, and the shower was disappointing - however I didn't go to Paris for the bathing experience!
