The convenient location of the apartment in the old district MONTEVERDE VECCHIO boasts many conveniences: supermarkets and grocery shops, banks and drugstores, fine restaurants and fast food restaurants, and all kinds of retail stores.
Athletes will find the "paradise" at their front door, the Villa Doria Pamphilij:
The Villa Doria Pamphilij is the largest park in Rome - and certainly one of the most beautiful parks. The lovely, rolling hills, huge pine trees and large open lawns attract, especially in the early evening hours and on weekends families, couples and many sports addicts. Of particular interest is the plant diversity in the landscaped garden in front of the Casino Algardi.
We stayed in this small but perfectly equipped, clean and comfortable apartment for almost 2 weeks and the three of us never felt cramped or crowded at all. We enjoyed a very nice home-away-from-home atmosphere in a very convenient part of the city and each night, after hours of touring the ruins, the monuments and of course, the shops, we were snug as bugs-in-rugs back at the apartment in a quiet, secure neighborhood.
The apartment has a very homey atmosphere and we had everything we could need for our stay. The only small recommendation we would make for Rudy, the owner, is to consider a new, thicker mattress for the sofa bed in the master bedroom. My husband is over 6 feet tall and 180 lb. so maybe he noticed it more, but the mattress has some quite thin spots where you can feel the springs starting to come to the surface. Both of us found it difficult at times to find a good, smooth spot to sleep and maybe it's because we're getting towards our 70's and the old bones need better mattresses than when we were young and sleepin' in hammocks and on air mattresses, so others probably haven't had a problem with this sofa bed at all. Not a biggie, but we thought we'd just suggest it.
We want to thank both Rudy and his son for giving us such a warm and helpful welcoming when we first arrived, showing us all the features of the apartment and even driving our daughter around the neighborhood so we'd feel at home there when we ventured forth the next morning. They made a very nice impression and gave us a perfect start to our Roman Holiday. And even though we didn't get a chance to meet Martin in person,he was soooooooo helpful and supportive, right from the very first email exchange, months earlier when we were starting our AIRBNB searches for all our apartments Europe-wide. Martin answered each enquiry extremely quickly and because we were booking multiple apartments in various cities, we appreciated his promptness more than I can say. He also helped me find our second apartment, close-by to this one and that was a God-send, making our daily trips out and about in Rome,so much more stress-free because our homes were only 300 meters apart.
All-in-all, our Roman experience was awesome and it started off with the best little apartment on San Calepodio and the best AIRBNB ambassadors to help us with our stay, Rudy and Martin.
Wonderful apartment--clean, comfortable, spacious and very easy to stay in. We had my father-in-law stay for over a week, and he had absolutely no complaints. Martin was helpful, responded quickly, and even shuttled my father-in-law from the airport to the apartment. Highly recommend the apartment.

About the Host, Martin
Hi, I am Martin! I was born in Salzburg - Austria forty-three years ago. After a rather tranquil life as a teacher for music and math at a very nice place in the Austrian mountains I married my Roman girlfriend Daniela and an exciting life in the whorled capital of Italy started. Together we are managing our Romahouse holiday apartments now for nearly 14 years. It is a great experience to get known to so many different cultures from all over the world by renting apartments. This exploration of different custom and languages at work brings you sometimes a certain holiday feeling at home, too!
Thus we like to cook not only pizza and pasta at home... but also delicious food from Austria across Asia beyond America inspired by our guests.
In our holiday season we like to travel: Europe, Africa, Asia - sometimes cities but mostly we want to refresh our self in intact nature because this contrast from the daily "big city environment" is sometimes a necessary cure for our body and spirit.
Recreated back home in Rome again we are glad to
introduce our holiday experiences into our work.
