The small room wasn't as clean and nice as shown in the photos. At night, I found a few cockroaches running around. The air conditioning doesn't work so it was pretty hot. And the toilet paper and shampoo ran out after one use. Overall, not a pleasant experience at all and I wouldn't stay there again :(
We had a great stay at Wendy's place in Hong Kong! Very central in the city as well.
Wendy had been very responsive and helpful. The apartment is small but it's good enough for single or a couple and it is clean. It is located in the prime area of Hong Kong and it is exceptionally convenient and only minutes away from the MTR station. The location is also surrounded by many good restaurants and trendy pubs and bars. I would definitely recommend it to other visitors looking for accommodation in HK.
My experience with Wendy's apartment was great. Wendy is very friendly, I booked last minute at 7:00am on the same day and ask for an early check up (11:00am) Wendy answer right away and offer to accommodate me from 11:00 till the regular check up time in another unit (bigger) without any extra cost. In this temporary unit there was a washing-machine and they offer me to use it if I needed, I didn't use it but was great to have the option and friendly attitude.
For check in you won't meet Wendy, I was receive by one of her staff members, she was super nice and friendly, she even help me with my luggage. You'll meet the staff at the building's lobby and they'll accommodate you right-away. Since they receive lots of guest you must call an hour before you plan to be there to schedule the exact time of arrival. I was worry that I didn't have a local phone but this wasn't an issue, at the airport you can ask at the information counter for the phone and call; if it happens to you, like it happen to me, that you're late and the staff member is gone there is a phone at the building's lobby and they let you use it for this matter. So no worries in regards the call!
The room I got had a double bed, a big chest of drawers, a small table, a mini fridge, an electric water heater and a TV. The A/C was quiet and quite powerful. You'll get towels, soap and shampoo, also hand-washing detergent for cloths. The room is small but feels cozy, is great for one person and good for a couple. If you are traveling with a friend I rather recommend a bigger unit, mostly because of the bed size won't allow much space in between and also the shower walls are glass (see through) for me (alone) was great! Yeah there is not much natural light because the windows are small and facing a wall but that is quite normal in HK and makes the room more quite and great for a good sleep.
In regards the location, it's fantastic! There is a convenience store right next to the building's entrance, the MTR (metro) is half block away and all small bars and restaurants from Wan-Chai are right there.
Overall my experience in this unit was great, I recommend it!
I know Hong Kong well so it was easy to find the apartment i had booked, directions were spot on. However on arrival i was met by Wendy's housekeeper who informed me the unit i booked was not actually available and i would have to follow her to another unit i could stay at which was a short walk away. The unit i actually stayed in did the job, i just needed to get somewhere to sleep for one night if i had to stay longer i would have not been happy though for reasons below.
The aircon was a window type which was very noisy and not very good, the entrance to the unit was under renovation so very dirty. I could not find any towels to have a shower with so had to use a small dish cloth. Considering the price i paid and how much other hotels in the area were this weekend overall i am ok with how it worked out. It appears from reviews i am not the only one to experience this, maybe some feedback for Wendy is to remove the listing from calendar if its not available for any reason.
