There are steps down to the property from the road and you will need to be able climb stairs to the upstairs area inside the annex. Please see photos, they are paddle stairs and they are narrow. Head room is restricted by a sloping ceiling upstairs.
Interaction with Guests
I try to be here to welcome guests. If I am not my neighbours will see you in. I am here to answer any questions and help you find your way around the area. I am happy to chat, but do not assume you are here to talk to me but to explore the area!
The village is really friendly, kindness is abundant here. Every day I wake up feeling excited to look across the valley and take in the beauty of it all.
See above, Local buses are very regular and the train is convenient if people have no transport of their own.
This is a self contained annex alongside my cottage in a quiet rural village. Guests are self catering. You are asked to be respectful of my neighbours and of course my annex! Please would you bring slippers to wear indoors. Many thanks.
Marion was a superb host. She called us before we arrived and offered to do our shopping out of concern that we'd arrive after the shops closed. Then she collected us from the station and drove us to her wonderful little haven. We felt so welcome by Marion's warmth. The whole neighbourhood, including her friendly neighbours, are all lovely too. Everyone smiles and says hello. Marion's home is lovely but the real treasure is Marion herself. The countryside is stunning. The views are gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to return again.
It was such a pleasure to have you here, wish you could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for your generous review. I am so glad everything worked well foe you. I wish David had used the other bedcover to keep warm!
Go well, be safe and do come again one day or drop by if you are in the area.
Marion was extremely patient and kind with us, we arrived at her property at 3 in the morning after quite a journey and despite us walking into her neighbours' garden and probably waking them up, she still was so lovely and welcoming. We really enjoyed having chats with her and would definitely stay with her again in the future. The studio is nice and cosy, clean and perfect for a couple. Recommended!
Clean and cosy annex in a beautiful hillside village location, Marion was fantastically helpful in every way. Highly recommended.
Beautiful Annex, lovely surroundings, and brilliant host. Highly recommended.
What a wonderful weekend, made all the more awesome by Marion and her beautiful little cottage. There are already loads of glowing reviews on here, so there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said already. Highly recommended! Thanks again Marion!
Marion was amazingly helpful. She met me in Stroud as I was uncertain how to find the address. When I was sick during my stay she was so helpful in getting little things from the village shop to make me more comfortable. She was so unobtrusive but remained in the background regularly checking to see if I had everything I needed. She was ready to provide extra heating for the cold January weather and was very helpful with parking.
The accommodation was perfect for me. The relatively small space actually enhanced my experience. I loved how the rooms were finished in local stonework. It was so cosy and having the sitting area upstairs with a fabulous view looking west and south down into Stroud was wonderful. It was quiet yet the buzz of the town was close by. The Cotswold Way is only 5 or so minutes away by car and that provided some wonderful walks.
Marion made the accommodation very welcoming with flowers and a range of products in the fridge, including homemade jams. The space was spotless.
Marion met us when we arrived directing us in as we got a little lost at the end. She gave up her parking spot close to the house and helped us take our luggage in. In the fridge she'd left really lovely Cheese, Jam, Eggs, Milk and good fresh bread too. Throughout our stay she was so helpful, giving us directions for good walks, she even kindly offered to drive us over to a nice spot for a walk back to the house.
She is really a great host and the annex is a great quiet little spot, really nicely decorated and in a cute village with friendly neighbours and great walks all around. We'd definitely recommend it.
It was lovely to meet you both and to have you stay in the annex. Thank you so much for your generous review. I do hope all goes well with the baby and would love to meet him/her one day if you are visiting your friends in Cheltenham again.
Thank you both for leaving the place so clean and tidy.
I'm sure you will have a brilliant year!!
Very best wishes to you and Louise, Marion
