  • Pat and Dave are wonderful hosts. They are warm and gracious, and have that amazing quality of friendliness that makes you feel like you've known them for ages right away.

The space was very clean and comfortable. They have four sweet dogs that I enjoyed playing with, but they are kept in the house if you're not into them. Their backyard is private and peaceful, with a pool (too cold for swimming in the winter months) and gas fire pit (delightful for lounging around in the evening). The room itself was great with a private keyless entry, big beautiful shower, super comfy memory foam bed, and lots of room to unpack. They are quick to accommodate any requests you might need.

Breakfast by the pool in the mornings was also wonderful. Very simple but delicious and appreciated. We even had fresh squeezed orange juice from their orange tree -- wow!

I'd definitely highly recommend Pat and Dave's place. Fabulous value, convenient location, and gracious hosts!

  • My stay at Casa Mescal was lovely, the only thing wrong with it was, I wish I could have stayed another week longer. The gracious and warm atmosphere allowed me to feel relaxed and safe immediately. All my needs where met. Pat and Dave's place is all its represented to be on Airb&b and more. I can't imagine that they would treat family anymore welcoming than they did me. Hope to return again with my hubby.

  • We could not have asked for better hosts than Pat and Dave and their four dogs! Their home is lovely and the master suite where we stayed was spacious, comfortable, and quiet. The location was convenient to downtown Scottsdale and highways, Dave made us wonderful breakfasts each morning. We would stay here again if we are ever in Phoenix!

  • Everything about Pat & Dave's place was EXACTLY as described on their home page! Guests couldn't ask for better host- we arrived in unbelievably late and Dave graciously waited up for us. He gave us a tour of their home, where we'd be staying and asked for a breakfast time. The first time I walked into the room I felt like a VIP. A bottle of wine and cake sat on a plush Queen sized bed and the room was softly lit with little accents that gave it an overall warm and affectionate invitation. The bathroom was huge, and featured a walk-in shower with built in bench. It also stored a small refrigerator and had both coffee and tea available with little snacks. The room is passcode protected which is a nice feature and the private side entrance to the pool and room gives a feeling of seculsion and little worry of disturbing the rest of the home. It was great to wake up to breakfast each morning-either at the table by the pool or at their kitchen counter and Pat & Dave came in and out to chat and give advice about things to do or places to see. All in all, we definitely had a wonderful experience and wouldn't hesitate to come back again soon! Dave & Pat easily make you feel comfortable in their home and their three pooches add a nice homey touch which is definitely not available when staying at a hotel. The price is right, as is the location-only a short 2min drive down the road to be on the 51 which will branch off to the 202 or other highways as needed. When looking for a safe and comfortable place to stay with a touch of class, luxury and privacy, yet down to earth and affordable-Dave & Pat's place is without a doubt the place to book!

  • Pat and Dave were wonderful hosts! They were very flexible and laid-back, and arranged a nice breakfast for us each morning. They even left us out a breakfast outside on the patio when we needed to sleep in one morning. We had a great time talking to them and playing with their adorable pets.

  • Patrick and Dave were wonderful hosts. They made sure that we had everything we needed and went beyond their host responsibilities and shared their time to visit with and get to know us. Their home is very comfortable, Dave is an extraordinary cook and breakfast was amazing each morning. We would highly recommend Patrick and Dave's home and will definitely stay there again. We are misplaced New Englanders living in "the Valley of The Sun." Arizona is our home for the past 8 years and we love the weather.. after all it's a dry heat. Arizona is (email hidden) to live, we have a beautiful home here in the city (Phoenix) and a mountain retreat upon the Mogollon Rim in Pine, AZ. It's at 6,000 feet elevation, give or take a few and only 110 miles away and about 30 degrees cooler. We have a great time , we are world travelers and our new goal is to go completly around the world on a ship.. not all at once-since we have to work for a living. Our goal is to stay put on retirement day and rock on the porch enjoying the mountain air.. RIGHT... not. We will be off on another adventure the day after the social security hits the automatic deposit. There will be no looking back. We have three dogs, Maggie, Mini & Max and a cat called Mona- who actually thinks she's a dog. Our homes is warm, friendly and inviting.. We are great cooks, hosts and enjoy the occasional happy hour. Our professions are completely different from each other, one is a free-lance travel writer, social columnist and non- profit creative strategist and the other the aero space industry.. ummm guess that what makes it work. We will be offering our Moutain retreat in Pine for rental and in October 2012, our guest suite (off the pool) for nightly rentals.. Time to get busy.
