The Leslie Science Center with park land and trails is two blocks away. There is an 18 hole public golf course, Huron River nearby and you will be one block from Ann Arbor #2 city bus line for quick and easy commute to Medical center, Central campus, Kerrytown and downtown. The #1 bus is about 3 blocks away for an easy commute to downtown and campus. Great biking area with an easy ride to many destinations. (cycling in popular in Ann Arbor). I'm about 3/4 mile from the Amtrak station. Easy access to I-94 and DTW International airport. Large garage, spacious fenced yard, quiet shady established neighborhood. Wifi, central AC, new washer/dryer, clothesline, fully furnished with tons of charm. I have a large fenced in back yard so dogs are a possibility-- negotiable. (I have 2 dogs). The house isn't large but has wonderful appeal and is perfect for 2-4 people.
The full house, yard and garage.
I won't be in town when guests are at my home, but I will be in easy contact for any questions or concerns by email or phone.
Quiet and convenient. Lots of trees and privacy, but very close to shopping, Kerrytown, downtown and U-M campus. Friendly neighbors.
The Ann Arbor Transit -- the number 1 bus runs on Pontiac, bus stop is about a 8-10 minute walk. The number 2 bus runs on Plymouth- bus stop is 5 minute walk. Both buses will take you into downtown Ann Arbor, including the Blake Transit Center where you can take the Air Ride ($12) to Detroit Metro Airport, DTW! A great deal. The AmTrak station is a 10-12 minute walk from my house.
Guests note the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. My house is not grand, but it has style.
We stayed here for 2 nights to attend the Winter Classic hockey game on Jan. 1. Very reasonable price and great family alternative to a hotel. Master bedroom for parents had ensuite bathroom, teen son slept on comfy living room sofa and his teen cousin took the second bedroom, so everyone had their privacy and space. Small TV disappointed the boys but no big deal. Good, free WiFi.
Best is location - short drive to downtown and parking lots for The Big House. Amy was very available by email and left detailed instructions for everything.
Amy's house is very much Ann Arbor. Full of character and warmth. The neighborhood is great for dog walking. The neighbors very quiet. The house is small but adequate. Amy was very responsive and accommodating.
The house was just as described. Very warm, cozy, and welcoming. We'd stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay at Amy’s home and look forward to staying there on our future visits to Ann Arbor! The location, neighborhood, and overall value of getting an entire, beautiful, dog friendly house, with a yard, is incredible. Although we did not meet Amy, she made sure we had everything we needed and our arrival and departure went very smoothly. The photos accurately represent the house, but it felt a lot more spacious in person! Her home really felt like home for us and I would definitely recommend staying here if you have the chance!
We had a wonderful stay at Amy's house. It was clean, comfortable, and roomy. We felt right at home. I wouldn't hesitate to rent her house again, and will highly recommend it to friends. In all, even better than we expected!
If you have dogs this is the place to be, they had the run of the fenced in yard and house. We brought our 2 dogs and they settled right in, slept in our room and hung with us whole time. But we also left them to do our activities. Just like at our own home. This house is in an excellent location for sure. Everything is right there less than a minutes drive for food and shops. Private street yet neighborly feeling. Host Amy very easy to work with.
Pretty house, pretty area.
Stayed at Amy's for a full week while on business in A2. House was quiet, comfortable, generally clean, well located in a lovely neighborhood, a close to downtown, a block away from the wonderful Leslie Science Center which I would visit to walk the trails and check on the raptors after long days at work, and a nice exercise walk or run to parks along the Huron River. It is a very uncomplicated house to settle into. Beats the hell out of the comparably or even much higher priced local hotel rooms.
A wonderful house in a quiet neighborhood with a gracious hostess, and some fascinating books, posters and touches of artistic flair in every corner! My family of 5 (hubby and 3 teens) plus our dog were pleasantly surprised to find a "bonus" study which we hadn't noticed in the description. So, everyone had plenty private space to have alone time. Our first airbnb experience was so amazing and without any downside whatsoever! Our family will never want to stay in a cramped motel room again.
I could tell that Amy put alot of effort into making our stay feel effortless, even though she was out of town. I appreciated her comprehensive guide to all things related to the house and to Ann Arbor. Everything made sense, but if I did have any questions, the answers were right at my fingertips or as simple as an email to Amy.
Thanks to Amy, for opening her home to us. It was a welcome oasis during a LARGE family reunion with the in-laws. I feel like I know her already although we have never actually met in person. Next time I'm in Ann Arbor I'd love to take her out for a coffee.
If you are fortunate enough to be coming to Ann Arbor when Amy's house is available, I highly recommend it!
Extremely comfortable, cozy house; truly a home away from home. Everything we needed was available, and the large backyard was definitely an added bonus. Amy responded to any questions that we had in a very timely manner, and was great about providing detailed information about her house and the surrounding area. For the price, it really can't be beat. Highly, highly recommended!
