Interaction with Guests
I won't be in town when guests are at my home, but I will be in easy contact for any questions or concerns by email or phone.
Quiet and convenient. Lots of trees and privacy, but very close to shopping, Kerrytown, downtown and U-M campus. Friendly neighbors.
The Ann Arbor Transit -- the number 1 bus runs on Pontiac, bus stop is about a 8-10 minute walk. The number 2 bus runs on Plymouth- bus stop is 5 minute walk. Both buses will take you into downtown Ann Arbor, including the Blake Transit Center where you can take the Air Ride ($12) to Detroit Metro Airport, DTW! A great deal. The AmTrak station is a 10-12 minute walk from my house.
Other Things to Note
Guests note the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. My house is not grand, but it has style.
Non-smoking house. I'm a vegetarian, but don't mind "non-veggies". I compost-- which is optional for guests, but a great option. My neighbors are super friendly, but I encourage guests to be mindful of the noise. If the weather's nice, you can use the fire bowl in the back yard. The yard is private and surrounded by large trees and is fully fenced if you plan on bringing your dog. I have two dogs but they won't be there during your stay. If guests are here a week or longer, they must put the trash and recyling bins on the curb for pick up. I only ask that you treat my house and belongings as you would your own-- and have fun!!! Ann Arbor is a great place to live and visit. There are many performances, lectures and activities happening on the U-M campus and in town.
We rented Amy's house while we were working at the Ann Arbor Art Fair. There were two couples and we had a great time.
Even though Amy was out of the country she left detailed instructions about everything and had neighbors to contact if anything went south. The house and yard are cozy and charming. Everything was clean and tidy. Two artist couples spent a good amount of time talking about all the artwork. We all liked Amy's taste in decor. Thanks Amy! We hope to stay again next year during the fair.
Amy provided good communication prior to our visit. She included instructions for accessing and caring for her home, as well as information about the area. The home was situated in a quiet, treed neighborhood, close to a lovely paved trail for running and biking. It included a large garage and yard. The fireflies at night were spectacular!
The house location was great, very close to everything we needed. Amy was very quick to respond and left very detailed information about everything in her house.
My daughter and her children ages 5 and 1 were visiting from Helsinki, Finlad. They Airbnbed a condo on the other side of AnnArbor from us so we were close and had advantages of two different areas. This house offered a great backyard and the kids enjoyed it tremendously!! My daughter and her husband lived very near this house when they went to UofM so I knew the area from visiting her for 6 years there. It worked out great and we had no complaints.
The house was very well laid out and the space was more than adequate for myself, my husband and our son. Nice to have a study with a desk for doing some work. The university and downtown were only a few minutes away, very convenient for the wedding we were attending at the Michigan Union. Rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We were happy with our stay.
We had a nice stay at this house and were comfortable. The yard was so pretty in May with all the blooming flowers. Big trees and lots of birds to see. It was very convenient to downtown and the nature center just down the street provided lots of hiking opportunities. It was home away from home.
