Interaction with Guests
I won't be in town when guests are at my home, but I will be in easy contact for any questions or concerns by email or phone.
Quiet and convenient. Lots of trees and privacy, but very close to shopping, Kerrytown, downtown and U-M campus. Friendly neighbors.
The Ann Arbor Transit -- the number 1 bus runs on Pontiac, bus stop is about a 8-10 minute walk. The number 2 bus runs on Plymouth- bus stop is 5 minute walk. Both buses will take you into downtown Ann Arbor, including the Blake Transit Center where you can take the Air Ride ($12) to Detroit Metro Airport, DTW! A great deal. The AmTrak station is a 10-12 minute walk from my house.
Other Things to Note
Guests note the comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. My house is not grand, but it has style.
Non-smoking house. I'm a vegetarian, but don't mind "non-veggies". I compost-- which is optional for guests, but a great option. My neighbors are super friendly, but I encourage guests to be mindful of the noise. If the weather's nice, you can use the fire bowl in the back yard. The yard is private and surrounded by large trees and is fully fenced if you plan on bringing your dog. I have two dogs but they won't be there during your stay. If guests are here a week or longer, they must put the trash and recyling bins on the curb for pick up. I only ask that you treat my house and belongings as you would your own-- and have fun!!! Ann Arbor is a great place to live and visit. There are many performances, lectures and activities happening on the U-M campus and in town.
We had a nice stay at this house and were comfortable. The yard was so pretty in May with all the blooming flowers. Big trees and lots of birds to see. It was very convenient to downtown and the nature center just down the street provided lots of hiking opportunities. It was home away from home.
This was one of our best experiences! The home is lovely and near a great nature preserve. Close to great restaurants and not too far from downtown. Our family spent a great time here listen to the birds, watching squirrels and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Would highly recommend!
Amy's house was everything we expected & more! She was an incredibly welcoming host, providing abundant information about the house as well as info. about the neighborhood & places to visit while in town.
This is a charming, cozy house with lots of welcoming personal touches & a beautiful, private yard! It is centrally located with easy access to downtown Ann Arbor & the U of M campus. Our dog enjoyed the spacious yard & it was so nice to be able to bring her along for our trip.
I would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking in or around the Ann Arbor area, & we hope to visit again in the future!
Amy was great! She provided detailed instructions about the house and checked in with me right away on my arrival. She promptly answered my questions. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood, with a beautiful and large yard. The house is comfortable and everything I used--shower, washing machine, dehumidifier, lamps, television--worked well. The trees around the house are lovely and kept the house cool during the humid time that I visited. I had a workshop on campus and I walked there and back each day, so the location was perfect for me. The office is at the front of the house and looks out onto a bird feeder, so I enjoyed sitting there and having the out of doors so visible. I appreciated the options to recycle and compost as well.
