Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as they want !
We do pride ourselves on trying to give our guests the true experience of visiting Italy, and our most popular requests after guided tours are the private dinner or Big Italian Family dinner option, where we interact with our guests and welcome them into our lives and they truly get to embrace a bit of the Italian culture.
What I love about this neighbourhood is that it is so close to anything and all things touristy, yet residential, authentic and "hidden", all at the same time. You have a much higher probability to be the only tourist in the restaurants and shops around here. It has been one of Rome's best neighbourhoods for a very long time with the locals themselves.
There is a metro (central, red Line A which is the one you need for all historical centre stops including the Vatican) a few steps outside the door, and a bus stop literally right outside the front door, and the bus takes you through the entire centre.
House guests are expected to wash their own dishes and cutlery (there is a dishwasher, so no worries). There is a washing machine, if used we kindly request our guests to use it after 8 PM. We have laundry service on request at a cost.
Please turn off all lights and AC units when not in apartment,
Dogs of small to medium size - and housebroken and well behaved! - are more than welcome. Ask us about our Pawtastic Packages for your furry friends!
While we encourage and welcome honeymooners; don't swing in the chandeliers and break them.
While we encourage having your fill of amazing Italian wines; don't spray prosecco around while jumping on the sofa.
While we love dogs; if a bed or couch or other furniture is chewed or destroyed, we wont love them so much anymore.
While we love and adore kids and offer everything to make their holiday as great as your own; please keep them from writing on walls and things, and please take care moving your stroller. It can safely be left outside the apartment in the hallway.
SMOKING IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN inside the house. But you know, step out into the inner courtyard, and pick up after yourself please.
We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Mitra's apartment. My family and I (there were 4 of us total) were very comfortable in Mitra's apartment and so appreciated all of the goodies (eggs, fruit, juice, wine, etc) that were waiting for us upon our arrival. The location was great - very close to the train station and an easy walk to the Colosseum. Mitra also arranged some fantastic tours for us, including one in Florence. Her communication was prompt and thorough. She really enabled us to have a perfect first visit to Italy!
This apartment is exactly as beautiful, as clean, and as well-kept as it looks in the photos. It is very conveniently located, not just near the archeological sites but also right beside a metro station. We were offered a free pickup service from and back to the airport, which was wonderful, and then we were expected at the apartment and shown around. We found an extremely well-stocked fridge, flowers and bowls of fruit - so altogether it was a perfectly pleasant arrival. We spent a full week here, and the apartment was a great place to come back to and relax in after Rome (website hidden) was no problem at all, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Also, there is a restaurant right next door with a good mixture of locals and tourists. Wifi worked perfectly which was very important for some of us. And last but not least Mitra was extremely friendly and helpful, very easy to reach for any questions and she responded very fast. A great place to stay in Rome, thank you!
The apartment is fantastic. Very bright and airy with all the amenities you need. It is within walking distance of all the main sites and right by a metro station if needed. Mitra and Fabio were extremely accommodating and were able to recommend places to eat and see. I would stay here again.
Mitra and her husband, Fabio, made us feel very welcome - they presented us with plenty of food and drink upon our arrival, and even gave us a Happy New Year parcel, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Mitra organised some great tours for us as well, for which we were very thankful.
The place was very clean, tidy, warm, comfortable and spacious.
Thank you so much, Mitra and Fabio! I hope we will one day come again.
Litiberi suites was beyond our expectations! Every little detail, like leaving a stocked fridge for breakfast, or a bottle of wine, etc.. was amazing! Mitra is also a certified tour planner and she planned all of our private tours in Italy and we were blown away by all the knowledgable and so friendly guides and drivers! The suites are walking distance with most of the main attractions, the metro is 20 steps away and the taxi stand is near as well! This place is a must stay, not only for the suites but you will experience the true Italian hospitality by Mitra and her team. Will definitely be coming back!
True to its description, the apartment was fantastic - amazing location & beautifully furnished etc. The extras Mitra provided in terms of the driver from the airport, breakfast items & extra food goodies... and a bottle of wine (!!) made it a great place to stay. Highly recommended!
The apartment is stunning and the location is excellent, but the communication left much to be desired. Mitra was very hard to get a hold of, and it turned out that she was on holiday with limited access to email. We did not find this out until late on our last night. We also stayed out of the apartment while the cleaning person was there, only to return and find that they did not show up. Lastly, the label for the apartment buzzer was very difficult to read.
For the money ($800 US for two nights), I expected more and was hoping for better communication. That being said, the apartment was very clean and comfortable.
I find it regrettable that this is the review being left after a stay.
My communication, which is being critiqued was because I took a whole hour in responding -and I got back to my guest, in this case Kelli, in one hour.
I can not imagine being equally upset after having to ask several times for an exact arrival time, despite a week going by with no answer.
Ms Greenwald stayed for two nights, so one whole day was spent in the flat, and we apologised profusely for the seeming miscommunication which lead to the cleaners not coming in, and they assured us "there were no worries". Our cleaners come in for no more than half an hour, to tidy the place up, and we ask beforehand if during the day is fine, as we find almost all our guests are out during the day.
Daily cleaning is a service we like to give our guests free of charge, so in this case there would have been one instance of cleaning. But as even Ms Greenwald states, the apartment was very clean - because our apartment is cleaned throughly and all items dry-cleaned between turnovers. An attention to detail we appreciate being noticed, at least.
We stocked the apartment with fresh flowers and abundant breakfast - free of charge, as our gift to our guest, and offered to pick them up from the train station - as we always do, and the buzzer with our name on it is listed in block letters.
Now, our house is in the historical centre of Rome, and as such, the houses are over a century old. In our case it also means that the design for the labels of the door are very narrow and small, unfortunately we can not do anything about the size.
I failed to accommodate their request for a last minute tour guide - something I had advised months ahead that it could be difficult to do, that if they wanted a tour it was best to arrange prior to arrival. I was clear in communicating this.
September in Rome is still high season and our guides are booked up - and I will never send a client with just any unknown guide and risk giving them a mediocre experience.
Our apartment holds wifi, laundry, breakfast, they had personal check in and check out, fresh flowers, perfectly cleaned, i left them a guidebook, fully stocked kitchen, but it is regrettable to see that failure to answer within one hour while using airbnbs' system and not direct email results in such a disappointed client. While it is our first time, we sincerely hope it is the last.
About the Host, Mitra
This project is something we are very excited about, me, (Mitra) I have been in the industry for about 10 years and tour guiding / giving concierge service is something I have offered my clients all this time, and being able to give them a place to sleep is just the extra little thing that completes our business.
We are a husband and wife team who pride ourselves in giving our clients the true traveling experience, and a one stop shop for all things travel.
Fabio (my husband)is a chef, a passionate bread maker and a lover of all things pizza (and once worked as an instructor at the National Italian Pizzainstitute) and he is from a long line of Italian grandparents and mothers cooking like the gods of ancient Rome themselves, and his talent has taken him from Rome to Montreal to Zanzibar workingwith street vendors in Asia to Michelinstarred chefs in Europe - but he really is (email hidden) for our clients and creating a personal bond with them over food and wine.
My own tour guiding / concierge service is a story on it's own; I am the corporate drop out that got recruited to come to Rome and be a tour guide , and 10 years later I am still here and loving it. Apparently it was a career move that paid off, as I was selected by Dream of Italy as one of the Best Tourguides In Italy! :)
A huge honour as we have little to no awards in this business of ours , and I owe it all to my amazing clients over the past ten years. I am very excited for the next coming ten years!
The name we chose for it is Litiberi Suites, the word Litiberi comes from the first two letters of the names of Fabios grandparents. Nonna Lina, Nonna Titina, Nonno Benedetto and Nonno Riccardo.
The house the suite is in is Benedetto and Linas house, the other two grandparents remained forever south in Italy, in Apulia. This house is where my husband grew up, where he went to school from, where he got baptised in the church up the street - and where now our daughter also got baptised, to keep the familytradition going - and where he had his first communion, where he spent Christmases and birthdays.
I knew this house meant everything to him, so in the winter of 2011, I sat him down and told him my idea.
To keep the house in the family and keep on giving to our clients the affection and love of a family, to make everyones trip a fantastic one. To keep the house and bring it back to life and make his grandparents proud.
So we sold our own house and moved out of the city, rebuilt a garage into a small house and lived among plaster dust for months, all while tackling on the massive job that would be the floor-to-ceiling renovation of Litiberi Suites.
We are proud of the house and what it has become, and what it is becoming.
We are proud to carry on a legacy of hospitality, from all of our grandparents.
We are proud to welcome you to a city we both love and adore, and we can not wait to share it with you, starting with giving you the best live in, full on, living experience in the city.
