  • Los AlcaTraces is a terrific location to experience the local culture without being surrounded by tourists. Greg and Silvia were extraordinary hosts ~ providing the perfect amount of insight about Cozumel.
Sitting among the birds while listening to the local sounds made an excellent backdrop for the daily breakfast of local pasteries, fresh fruit, juice and coffee.
The room was well kept and provided plenty of space without feeling cramped. Feeling safe and secure was not a problem at Los AlcaTraces nor the area around it.

Greg, Silvia and Rosa definitely maintain the motto "Mi Casa es Su Casa"
Thank you for helping us fall in LOVE with Cozumel!!

  • Great stay in Cozumel. Perfect distance away from the tourist cruise ships but still in what felt like a safe neighbourhood. Greg and Silvia answered questions when we had them but also gave us space to enjoy their nice unit.

Great breakfast (fruit, coffee, juice, and bread/muffin)
Rosa their dog is super cute.

Room has tv with cable, ac, and felt safe with locking windows, doors and cabinets to put our stuff in. I would highly recommend this place for travellers to the island!

  • We loved our stay at Los Alcatraces. Greg and Sylvia are very friendly and do their best to make their guests feel welcome. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. It felt like an inviting place to be,either inside or out by the garden/pool area. We were given good tips on how to get around the area. Another friendly touch was their dog Rosa. She was adorable and not afraid to have new people around her. I wish we could have stayed longer this time, but wouldn't hesitate to return again and stay with Greg and Sylvia.

  • We loved Silvia, Greg and Rosarita. They were like family. When we needed guidance they were always willing to help with advice or a phone call if necessary. The room was clean and simple, and the accommodations included the outdoor 'living room' and pool. Los Alcatraces is within walking distance of lots of things, but you need a ride to the real beaches, which are breathtakingly beautiful. But just lying on the chaise beside the pool is a sight for wintery eyes! And Rosie is the friendliest little dog. We felt special.

  • This is a lovely place to stay with delightful hosts. Great location a little deeper into town (though we walked with our bags from the ferry and had no trouble). Silvia gave us great directions and helpful info before we arrived, and was a gracious host, directing us to her favorite spots all over the island and offering us a lovely breakfast of fruit and pastries every day. The room is clean and quiet and homey, and a friendly dog Rosie keeps you company. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the beautiful island of Cozumel, especially if you are interested in something besides the tourist zone.

  • This trip was our first winter vacation, and I can't imagine a better place to stay. Silvia and Greg were perfect hosts: they gave us their undivided attention, answered our questions and gave good advice, and also gave us introverts the space and privacy we needed for a much-needed, soul-restoring vacation. We really valued being away from the tourist area's hustle and bustle, and felt very safe walking the streets at night; everyone we met had a kind smile for us.

  • Had a wonderful stay with Greg and Silvia, their place is great, very cozy, and the location is within easy walking distance to everywhere we went. I have stayed in various hotels and resorts on the island and this is one of the best. We had a great time. Greg and Silvia are great hosts and made us feel right at home. Rosa, their dog is a sweetheart and she welcomed us and hung out with us often....very cool dog! I will be back.

  • I had a wonderful stay with Silvia & Greg. The room was clean and welcoming and the breakfast on the patio was perfectly timed and delicious.

Silvia & Greg are both very knowledgeable about the island and the variety of things you can do during your time.

Thank you for a great stay.

About
Thank you for visiting our Los Alcatraces Cozumel bed and breakfast website. We hope you allow us to help you have the perfect vacation. Make some time to visit Cozumel and enjoy the rewards of that immeasurable experience as we did. Back in 1992, I came to this tranquil place in Mexico because I sorely needed a dive vacation. The inherent traits of genuine care for others and love of family are apparent in this special place. It is the natural charm of the Cozumel people that lures visitors in. Holidays are an important part of the annual calendar, where the Mexican people show their national pride. Then in 2009 I met my beautiful wife Silvia on the island and the permanent transformation started. The unfortunate thing is that today’s workaholic climate makes many of us feel guilty, weak or bad for taking some downtime. We often overlook the importance of proper rest and relaxation, but without it our bodies don’t have time to repair, recuperate and grow. If you have lost your gusto for work, then it’s time for an inspiration top up. Visiting places that move you and doing things that you’re passionate about are an instant fast-track to idea heaven. Stagnant surroundings make for a bored and dull you, so get your juices flowing by pumping some good endorphins into your body. And how do you do that? Sunlight, laughter, healthy food, exercise, and fresh air are all guaranteed to have you bouncing off the walls with enthusiasm. Los Alcatraces Cozumel is our home and can allow you to peacefully chill out and turn the volume down in your head. To give your lungs and bloodstream a chance to clear you need around 72 hours in pure, fresh air every few months. You can find this on the island of Cozumel. Let us help you strip away the hustle and bustle of the working week, so you can get to the core of who you really are. We look forward to serving you in person! Silvia and Greg Lupone
