This was a great stop for us in Costa Rica. The apartment was giant compared to many other places we stayed around the country which was a huge plus to be able to stretch out a little bit. Breakfast was included and was more food then I could eat and was really great.
We cooked in the kitchen and although the appliances were nice and new, the cookware and dishes was very basic and not worth it unless you plan to stay awhile and buy things like tin foil, paper towels, kitchen sponge. There was only one very small cutting board, and two small frying pans and pots. We found it difficult to just cook some pan chicken, broccoli, rice. But we loved that there was a toaster.
The bathroom had hot water and a big shower, but like some other places we stayed in CR the sewer line makes the bathroom smell so we had to make sure we kept the toilet seat down and the bathroom door closed to minimize the smell as much as possible because it was overpowering at times.
The porch for the apartment is great and feels private from the other people and includes a hammock.
It is about a 10 min walk to town and 10 min walk to a good beach. Overall, very relaxing and quiet and we would stay here again. It is a very good value for the price.
Jessica and Gabor are great hosts. They have a very nice place to stay. The apartment is very comfortable (especially the bed). The experience was super good. The apartment is nice, breakfast is more than enough and you can walk 4 minutes to the beach, maybe 8 to some bars and 12-15 to the National Park. Be sure that you'll have a great time at this apartment.
Great Couple! Great Stay! They have a wonderful, cute Bed and Breakfast. Jessica and Gabor are a super-friendly, hardworking couple who manage comfortable, well-maintained, clean and bright rooms. They are lovely hosts and the place is a great spot for your stay in Cahuita!
My stay at coconut love was wonderful. Jess and Gabor are an awesome couple and great hosts. Very accommodating and kind. I'm so happy that I got to know them and the town of Cahuita very well. It's a great place with warm, friendly, kind, welcoming, open and joyous people. I can't put a price on the experiences I had and the friendships created. If you're planning on visiting, do stay at coconut love, and be sure to dive into Cahuita's culture...soaking up its people, languages, food, traditions and nature.
Perfect place to stay and amazing hosts. The apartment is spacious and clean, and the breakfast was so good everyday. (Gabor worked as a chef for 5 years). It's a good location, and close to everything.
We had a great time, and if you're staying in Cahuita this is the place to book for sure.
Simply incredible!! We really recommend Jessica & Gabor place to everyone that want to be like at home!! The house is lovely, neighborhood nice, safe and you are very close to the beach, Cahuita National Park, Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo!!
About the breakfast... The best one!! If you want to visit the caribbean, definitely you should stop at this cozy house!
Thanks Jessica & Gabor for being the perfect hostess !! Sincerly all the best!! ;.)!
We really loved the place, we stayed for a month and Jess&Gabor are lovely people who are always there to answer your questions and help you as much as they can. The apartment was great for us, it has everything that you need. It is clean and well organised with all the kitchen equipment etc. I would recommend it for everyone, we hope to go back one day and enjoy Cahuita a little bit more :)
We had some wonderful days in Cahuita at our hosts place. Jess and Gabor are really nice people, living in the same building. They always give you good informations and care about you if you want to.
The appartment is in a nice area, inbeetween a costa rican neighbourhood, just a few meters away from the carribean sea.
If I come back to Cahuita, i´ll definetly stay there again.
We stayed in the Jasmine Suite at Coconut Love. Although very nice people, we felt that the hosts were not ready to have paying guests. In business for only a year and knowing no Spanish, the business mistakes made by Jessica and Gabor are passed onto the customers. Our two main issues was that there was no hot water except for one night during our 5 night stay and the kitchen was poorly equipped for real cooking. The list of disadvantages are as follows: no gourmet breakfast (mediocre at best) but great fruit; no towel racks; no closet drawers or cabinets; no bathroom cabinets; no hot water; no decor; no useful indoor table and chairs; 2 heavy, uncomfortable chairs & small coffee table; low platform bed was uncomfortable; kitchen is poorly equipped with 2 small frying pans, 2 bowls, 2 plates, a few utensils, rusted stove top range, &no exhaust fan over the stove. Since the farmers market was only on Sunday (toward the end of our trip) and the kitchen being what it was, we relied on the free breakfast and eating at restaurants. We did have positive experiences as well. Jessica and Gabor are nice folks who met us at the bus terminal when we arrived. They offered the use of their shower one night since ours was not working. Although the breakfast was not gourmet as stated, they were quick with it and always on time. The apartment is larger than expected but use of the space could be utilized better. The location is private and secure, deep in a local neighborhood which we enjoyed. The dogs barking and the roosters crowing were drowned out by the patio's heavy glass sliding door and the awesome ceiling fans in both rooms. We enjoyed our mornings on the patio very much. Our room was cleaned and the sheets were changed everyday as stated. There were a few bathroom toiletries included and the wi-fi worked just fine. The safety box was very small but useful for passports and money. Overall, this place has a lot of potential. Until they work out offering a better stay, a hostel with a private bathroom is only about $10 lower than their range. The next range up are costly lodgings which have more amenities and are closer to the beach (which isn't saying much since Cahuita is tiny). There are many more choices that are not online once you're actually there. Our suggestion is to book a night or two here or at a hostel and find something else when you're there.
