One stop from London Bridge, this room can accommodate one, two or three people (we'll put an extra single in there).
The flat, which is very comfortable, has everything you need, including wireless Internet, a shared bathroom, kitchen, separate bathroom, microwave, fridge and parking. You also have your own key, so you can lock your room.
The flat is about 400 meters from New Cross Station, which gives you access to the Overground and the mainline railway (Note: the Overground is connected to the tube/underground - it just runs over ground - all tickets are valid). Deptford Bridge Station is even closer. From here the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) will take you to Greenwhich and Canary Wharf.
There are also numerous buses, which pass New Cross Road and go straight to central London, including several night buses, so you can always get home no matter what time of night! You can be in Trafalgar Square (by train) in just 15 minutes. The vibrant and eclectic area of Shoreditch is also just 15 minutes on the Overground. The location is ideal for any tourist or person working in central London!
So far all the guests in the flat have been very nice, interesting, responsible and very respectful of one another. I believe that they have all enjoyed their stay. The apartment is maintain daily to a high standard.
In the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are 24 hour food shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, bars and the famous Deptford Market all within walking distance of the flat. The flat is very close to Goldsmith University campus, so could be an ideal base if you are visiting the university for a conference.
My brother and his girlfriend were really satisfied. They only had some problems at the beginning because their room was full, but then it was just misunderstanding and everything was ok. Everybody was nice and their stay was really great.
Thanks a lot! Bára
The flat is fine, well managed and easy to reach following Sidney's instructions. The room is perfect for 2 people, not too small and well furnished. The first night it was really difficult to sleep because trains run exactly under the room's window....but the following days we've solved the problem using earplugs. The other point was cleanness: apart from the room, which was fine, the kitchen is in a rather bad conditions, the previous guests were not very attentive and glasses and dishes were really dirty. Definitely we were on average fine, apart from this latest point, maybe the cleaning should be looked after a bit more, also on the public areas.
Very nice located room. Sidney is very nice host, he solve any ours problems really quick.
P.S. trains passing near the house a little strained at the beginning, but we got used very quickly and they did not deliver concern
Sidney is a great person and a friendly guy.
However, the location of this apartment is really questionable.
It's dark and dodgy and located in a pretty shady area.
We took a cab but it was hard for the driver to even find the place. It's very far from the airport and the city centre.
It's however near to the rail. That's for sure.
There are also quite a few eateries 5-7mins away.
We booked the place for 2 nights but only stayed a night. We didn't even shower as we really didn't feel comfortable at all.
Nonetheless, if u r a single or travelling backpacking style, I suppose u will be ok with the place. It has good wifi!
The apartment is fine for those just looking for a cheap place to sleep in central London. However, DO NOT except any kind of hotel standard as the rooms are quite worn (but who cares if you are outdoors exploring the great city all day long!?).
The less good is the location just beside a bunch of very busy railroads (in average 1 train/minute almost round the clock) making it very hard to relax at night without earplugs! Can not understand why nobody have mentioned this in previous reviews???
We had a pleasant stay at Sidney's apartment for a short trip in London. It was a bit far from Central London, the place is close to the New Cross Gate overground station which was convenient - Check the TFL website for the last train leaving for this station! We had a bit of confusion as Sidney had another guest coming into our room on the last day of our stay but we had to leave early anyway so it didn't cause us much problem. All in all, the place is good value for money and I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a cheap place to stay in London!
We were satisfied with accomodation. It´s really closed to city centre. We got what we paid for. Sidney was very careful and kind. I can really recommend this accomodation.
Sidney is such a friendly and responsive host. It's a pity that we don't get to meet Sidney in person, as we got the key from another tenant there. Whenever we had any doubts during our stay, Sidney responded to our texts almost instantly. The room is very clean (comfortable bed, clean sheets) and the location is perfect (really near to the New Cross overground station - about 5 minutes walk). The unit is located on the second floor, but there is a lift so you don't have to worry if you're travelling with luggages. Definitely worth the price that we paid. Will definitely consider staying here again if I need a reasonably-priced accommodation in London.
If you are looking for clean comfortable room with reasonable price in London, Sidney place is definitely suitable for you. It is close to the New Cross station, so it is easy to get into city center.
Sidney is a great host and when I will travel to London again, I will definitely stay at her place again:-)
Nice and comfy room and I'll surely recommend this apartment to everyone
