We are just minutes to cafes, a major shopping center, playground, pub, and yoga/gym/Pilates classes.
Our closest villages are: Brunswick Heads-10 min, Mullumbimby-15 min, Byron Bay-25 min, Bangalow-30 min. This area, extending south to Byron Bay is a mecca for the arts, music, alternative health and environmental sustainability. Home to many annual music festivals and cultural events. Many nearby quaint villages have a variety of fantastic local weekly farmers and craft markets. Incredibly beautiful scenic drives, National Parks, picnic spots, hikes, walks, ballooning, skydiving and bike or horse rides are just minutes away. Very beautiful, magical coast, rain forest and river country that sits in the belly of an ancient volcano caldera on the edge of miles of pristine beaches.
The Byron Shire is a collection of semi-rural seaside and rainforest communities near Cape Byron-the most easterly point of Australia. Having a car is preferable as public transportation is limited.Gold Coast Airport in Coolangatta,Queensland 35 minutes.

From Sep 1 - Nov 30, 2015 the minimum stay is 14 nights.
Cate & Judson's home is lovely. There was plenty of room for the 4 of us and the house was light and inviting. We had the choice of meals inside or outside and the kitchen had everything we needed. There was even a vegetable garden which we made use of. The hills around the house provided good exercise for running in the morning and the ocean beach was a 15 minute walk away. The local shopping centre was less than 10 minutes away by car. We had a great holiday.
A glorious, beautiful, joy of a home. Perfectly presented with everything you need and then some. Cate and Judson were warm, kind and personable when we arrived, and left us everything we needed for a great stay. South golden beach is a lovely quieter option for visitors to Byron shire. We highly recommend this home.
We arrived as a group and were greeted by two of the most wonderful people I have met. We immediately felt comfortable with them and in the surroundings of their beautiful home. It felt like home.
Cate and Judd's home is an extension of who they are, they treat it with care and lots of love and you will see that in every corner of the house. There is art decorating the walls, the house is filled with natural light, there are places in the house where you can sit and they provide you the solace of being alone (peaceful) and then there are areas where you can enjoy time communing with people in the ambience created by them in this beautiful home. They even have a great BBQ area - its the type of getaway where you enjoy your time whether its cathing up on reading or lying down watrching the trees and the ocean, listening to the wind and birds or chatting with friends on their deck over a glass of wine.
The beds were comfy, they had sheets and towels etc provided, the house was always clean and I loved their bath and outdoor shower. They had 2 toilets which is great when you have a group and Cate knowing there are a few grls in the group, made sure we had enough mirrors in our room as well!
Their hospitality was like being with family. They provided all the amenities needed over and above what they should as hosts. They gave us excellent advice about Byron and the culture and where to go, where to eat and what to see. They didn't need to do that but they really took care of us.
The area they live in is great beacuse you are literally a short walk from the beach, there is even a riverwalk and some great cafes there (had the best chicken burger ever!) The landscape is hilly and lovely to look at the views of the sunset as you drive by. Its nice to get away from the crowd in town sometimes and see other parts of Byron and being here really gave us that experience. Infact we would often spend mornings to late afternoon just lounging in the house relaxing - You really feel renewed and rejuvenated!
highly reccomend to others to experience what we have. I have soo many favorite moments staying there and have not stopped telling friends about our holiday after coming back to Melbourne!

About the Host, Cate & Judson
We are both full time practising artists, Judson, a New Zealand born sculptor and master carver and Cate a USA born painter (and also life coach). We have created amazing homes in both Mexico and Australia that are filled with our paintings and sculptures along with surprising artworks of other international artists and many treasures from both our travels and from nature. We have both managed B & B properties as one of our many lifestyle incarnations and take pleasure in making travellers welcome and comfortable. We enjoy sharing our passions of art, history, culture, music, great food and of course traveling, with others!
We ended up living in Mexico after going on a year trip through South America and across the USA visiting the national parks.Looking for a place to stop and do some artwork, we went to San Miguel de Allende and felt so at home in this amazing colonial jewel. We are currently exhibiting our sculptures and paintings in Mexico, California and Chicago.
We also are enjoying sharing our skills and passion of art making with others. Recently we have opened our home studios both in Mexico and Australia up to both experienced and beginner painters and sculptors who want to have some fun and receive qualified, professional one on one art instruction. Feel free to ask us more about it!
Adventurers at heart, we have soaking up as much of beautiful Mexico when we are there doing trips to various archeological sites and many colonial towns along the way! People often ask us where is home-and we reply that home is in our hearts because we have them with us wherever we go!
Come visit! Happy Travels!
