Our space is inspired by our travels around the world. We have created a tranquil and warm environment to enjoy and relax in, both indoors and out.

The space

We have a really cute stand alone "eco-zen condo" with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, less than 1 mile from the beach, located on the east side of town, near Pleasure Point. One bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has a brand new full size futon, both with memory foam toppers and VERY comfortable. Our home includes the following features:

-Recent upgrade! NEW HOT TUB!!!!
-New bamboo floors
-New (recycled material) carpets
-Beautiful remodeled bathroom
-Recently remodeled kitchen fully stocked
-Beautiful garden out front with year round fresh veggies (not for use unless agreed upon)
-Brand new remodeled patio area with tiki bar, gas fire table, water fountain and hammock
-Solar panles
-Compost tumblers

-Washer/dryer for longer stays available for use, not for use with weekend stays, only if emergency
-Dogs NOT allowed anymore unfortunately due to neighbor's complaint with a previous guest's pet incident:(

Things to do near by:

-Close to about a dozen different surf spots (Pleasure Point)
-Several great coffee shops a couple blocks away
-Bus stop 1 block away
-Hiking at Nisene Marks State Park only about 6 miles away

Our place is clean and cozy so come check it out and enjoy your stay in Santa Cruz. You won't regret it!

Interaction with guests

I try to keep it at a minimum and give them their space but be available for them if I'm in town or out as much as possible for questions or concerns.

Other things to note

-If the wi-fi password is requested, no downloading movies or other potentially illegal stuff off the internet. We have been burned once already!

-NO CABLE TV! We do have a ROKU TV in the living room with Netflix and other channels and a television with a selection of DVD's to watch in the spare room.

- A dog lives in this home when we are around so we are not an allergy free space.

If you are thinking of visiting Santa Cruz, you couldn’t do better than this home. It is beautifully done and we had such a relaxing time--they have a garden, a lovely deck with a fire pit, a hot tub--it was like something out of a movie! Great location.

Threw home was perfect for us since we spent almost all our time at a dance conference. The hot tub was great, great shower, comfy beds. Re street noise kept me awake but it'd wad too warm to close the windows.

We felt right at home in this house and loved the peaceful setup. It indeed feel "Zen"! Although the distance to the beach is short we would NOT recommend planning to walk it as the most direct route has quite a bit of traffic. Loved having the fresh vegetables and fruit, lounging in the yard with the lights and water feature in the evening as well as turning on the fire feature to warm us during our morning coffee. Street noise gets loud during rush hour but dies down in the early evening. The jacuzzi was especially nice after a long day of activity on the beach and around town. We'd recommend staying here when visiting Santa Cruz.

Dee was such a wonderful and accommodating host. The cottage was perfect for my husband, myself and our teenage son. Loved the amenities, furnishings, zen garden and hot tub. Super clean, cozy, and close to great restaurants recommended by the hosts themselves. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely great value! Quiet, cozy neighborhood, wonderful location close (5-10 min drive) to everything! The highlight was the jacuzzi and the garden, from which my daughters enjoyed some fresh kale each day. Highly recommended for individual travelers, couples, and especially families. If you surf, Steamer Lane and many of the other locals breaks are a short drive away, and the jacuzzi is the perfect post-surf relaxation spot. Enjoyed it thoroughly, and hope to be back soon!

Hi! I am Dee and I am in my mid 30's and married to my wonderful husband for the past 8 years. By day, I work part time as a registered vet tech for the veterinary dermatologist and I run my own pet care business and my husband teaches environmental science to 5th and 6th graders in the Santa Cruz mountains. During our free time, together we enjoy traveling, snow boarding, rock climbing, scuba diving, music festivals and camping. My biggest passion in life is horseback riding and my husband is a die hard surfer who also enjoys working in the garden and relaxing in his hammock while listening to reggae tunes. We are both very passionate about the environment and doing our part to reduce our footprint on this planet.
We love traveling and seeing the world and we make an effort to travel out of the county about every other year. We have been to places such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, Hawaii, Europe, Philippines and Sri Lanka. When we travel, we travel without any specific agenda and let life guide us to where we belong. All we need is our trusty Lonely Planet guide book and we find ourselves at great hostels and air bnbs where like minded travelers gather to share stories and experiences. We enjoy good company and fun positive people that inspire us to become better individuals. We are fortunate in where we live and the beautiful home we live in and we would be blessed to share it with others while we are out on our own life adventures. Our motto in life: "Find what you love and love what you find."
