About this listing
Hey guys, I have a great flat that I'd love to share with you, here are some of the details.
You will notice that in some of the reviews it sounds as if I live in the flat and that's because I used to. Formerly I was only renting out a spare room but now I'm renting out the entire flat, the whole place is yours!
I've lived in the city for 2 and a half years and I still believe that I my apartment is in the absolute best location. It's on St. Marks Place between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. If you haven't familiarized yourself with the city yet, St. Marks and the surrounding area is a fantastic spot for restaurants, bars, and nightlife in general. You can find anything you want within a block or two! Regarding public transit you can literally see the 6-train stop at Astor Place (less than a block away) from my door step and I'm 2 blocks away from the N/R-train stop at 8th Street/NYU. With access to both the green and the yellow subway lines you can get anywhere in the city with ease. The apartment is about a 5 min walk to Washington Square Park and a 5-10 min walk to Union Square.
The best thing about my apartment (besides its awesome location) is it's huge living room. It has huge windows which give it a ton of natural light, hardwood floors, and 13 foot ceilings throughout. This is extraordinarily rare in the city. I have a large modular couch which comes in handy should you invite a few friends over. There is 120' projection screen TV with surround sound and I have Direct TV with every channel and sports package they offer. I have a kegorator and should it be stocked during your stay feel free to help yourself to a cold one. The kitchen is fully equipped with the standard appliances and cookware, plus microwave, toaster oven, all at your disposal. The bathroom is standard issue and feel free to use my toiletries. Both bedrooms are spacious and are furnished with a queen size bed, dresser, and desk.
I will provide towels for your stay and there is a washer/dryer inside the building. There is also a closet available should you need it.
I'm a 32 year old Boston native but I can't get enough of NYC. I've always helped my guests learn a little about the city and given advice on different things to do and areas to explore. Come check out my place!
No smoking!!! Other than that just be respectful and review the house manual.
C'est notre 6eme voyages à New York.
A perfect place to spend a 2 night stay in NYC. Close enough to everything from the major tourist streets to help us get a better feeling for life in the amazing city. Jeff was very accommodating and flexible with check in and check out times, and easy to communicate with. Plenty of room, much more than a standard hotel and good aircon. He is good at all
Jeff's place is probably the best place you can get in the East Village. It's massive. The pictures don't do it justice. And it's right in the heart of everything. You'd think that with such a prime piece of property Jeff would be more demanding or finicky, but he was really easy-going, and made us feel very welcome at his place!
Jeff was a great host who was very accommodating to our needs i.e. late check in and very early check out.
The apartment was in an absolutely ideal location with access to great restaurants/shops/supermarkets and subway nearby. The place itself was ideal for the 4 of us to stay in, and the living room was a wonderful space for us to relax and watch TV on the amazing projection screen.
Jeff was also very generous and provided accessories such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hairdryer, towels etc, which made our stay very convenient (as opposed to having to go buy all this stuff or bring it with us).
The only thing we didn't realize was that there was a staircase into the apartment and then a 1 storey walkup - which proved a little difficult for 4 girls with suitcases. But it was manageable.
Overall - highly recommended apartment and in that case I would definitely stay at any of his properties during my visits to NYC.
The appartment was comfortable, well equipped and clean. The high ceilings give a feeling of space and the place is bright. The neighborhood is great with restaurants and shops at a walking distance. Thanks!
Jeff's apartment was perfect for us. It was exactly as described and Jeff was very helpful with tips about the area and always quick to respond to any questions we had. Would definitely stay at Jeff's place again!
Where do I start?
Jeff was a perfect host, very nice, responsible and attentive, responded to my messages and queries in no time. Thank you Jeff!
A great apartment: wooden floor throughout the flat, high ceiling, in very good decorative conditions and really clean. Because I turned up over Xmas , I even had the chance to get a massive xmas tree in the lounge and fairy lights around the flat. Cute!
The location is perfect: walking distance to many areas (West village, Chelsea, soho, Union square, Madison square...) and extremely handy for the subway, which is around the corner and allows you to go mid town and Central Park in 10-15 minutes.
Overall, I definitely recommend the apartment even if, selfishly , I wouldn't like too many people to know about it so it remains secret! Hahaha
I will happily go back to Jeff's on my next trip to NYC. I'm really happy I didn't stay in an hotel and tried Airbnb for the first time... A very positive experience.
