We stayed here for 2 days and didn't want to leave! This is a beautiful riad in the medina area. The rooms are designed very tastefully and very appealing in a Moroccan way. Our caretakers Noori and Mohammad went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We would go back in a heartbeat given a chance.
The riad was wonderful and we received a warm welcome, with Moroccan tea. The host was very friendly, the room was clean and as in the picture. The breakfast was great, we could eat it in the relaxing courtyard. Communication with the host per mail was also good. Location is great, in a quiet alley near the souks.
The experience was great at Riad Selouane, it felt like we were at home.
Hello, Sorry for my bad english
roach we have good memories of Emma.
Our breakfast consists of hot drink, honey, fig jam,
butter, cakes, Moroccan bread, Moroccan pancakes, homemade yogurt, fresh orange juice. I'm sorry that all this is bland.
We are in Morocco, we try to serve products that our guests do not have at home.
So there will never be a cereal, eggs or sausage at home.
All the best
I would not recommend this Riad. First of all, I arrived in the Medina after taking a taxi from the bus station and had no concept of where to go and I called the number provided on my reservation and no one spoke English so it was very difficult to communicate, I asked someone to help me translate so someone could come and meet me to show me where the Riad was and the person at the Riad said no they could not come and meet me. I arrived to my room to lay down for a nap after a long day of traveling and there was a ton of noise so I had to ask for a fan. My room had a window opening to the street and even after closing the window the noise was still so loud, kids screaming and playing in the alley, motorbikes, crying babies etc. I asked to switch rooms and they said no they were going to be occupied soon, they were not occupied at all the whole time I was there. Second, The wifi was not working in my room and was going in and out in most parts of the house. As that was my only way to communicate and plan the rest of my trip it was very annoying, and after i asked about it several times, still nothing changed. I was very frustrated. Lastly, the breakfast is bread and yogurt and the doors don't lock.
I would like to say that the Riad itself is beautiful and very peaceful inside - despite my room. But the pictures are not the same as the place itself, it wasn't as well kept as the pictures make it out to be. I had a guide help me out in the Medina for one morning and that was very nice. I also had someone accompany me to the Ouzoud Falls in the desert. He didn't know where to go so we kept stopping every 20 min to ask someone if we were going in the right direction. We got lost, got a ticket and it took 4 hours as opposed to 2.5 hours. If you don't French this is not the place for you, and it is not a luxury hotel but the price of one. Therefore i would not recommend.
My boyfriend and I had the best time at the riad. the stuff were super nice and welcoming. a taxi was organised to pick us from the airport late at night. the room was spectacular. nice big bed and bath and decorated very well. the riad was a beautiful terrace where we spend a lot of our time. the riad is very close to the main square and if you wanted to go on an adventure the staff are very helpful and will help you organise it. all in all we had an amazing time and would recommend our friends to stay here. xx
Merci.
Nous reviendrons avec plaisir!
Wonderful stay!! Beautiful riad and very welcoming hosts. Wouldn't hesitate going back.
