  • I would not recommend this Riad. First of all, I arrived in the Medina after taking a taxi from the bus station and had no concept of where to go and I called the number provided on my reservation and no one spoke English so it was very difficult to communicate, I asked someone to help me translate so someone could come and meet me to show me where the Riad was and the person at the Riad said no they could not come and meet me. I arrived to my room to lay down for a nap after a long day of traveling and there was a ton of noise so I had to ask for a fan. My room had a window opening to the street and even after closing the window the noise was still so loud, kids screaming and playing in the alley, motorbikes, crying babies etc. I asked to switch rooms and they said no they were going to be occupied soon, they were not occupied at all the whole time I was there. Second, The wifi was not working in my room and was going in and out in most parts of the house. As that was my only way to communicate and plan the rest of my trip it was very annoying, and after i asked about it several times, still nothing changed. I was very frustrated. Lastly, the breakfast is bread and yogurt and the doors don't lock.

I would like to say that the Riad itself is beautiful and very peaceful inside - despite my room. But the pictures are not the same as the place itself, it wasn't as well kept as the pictures make it out to be. I had a guide help me out in the Medina for one morning and that was very nice. I also had someone accompany me to the Ouzoud Falls in the desert. He didn't know where to go so we kept stopping every 20 min to ask someone if we were going in the right direction. We got lost, got a ticket and it took 4 hours as opposed to 2.5 hours. If you don't French this is not the place for you, and it is not a luxury hotel but the price of one. Therefore i would not recommend.

  • My boyfriend and I had the best time at the riad. the stuff were super nice and welcoming. a taxi was organised to pick us from the airport late at night. the room was spectacular. nice big bed and bath and decorated very well. the riad was a beautiful terrace where we spend a lot of our time. the riad is very close to the main square and if you wanted to go on an adventure the staff are very helpful and will help you organise it. all in all we had an amazing time and would recommend our friends to stay here. xx

Merci.
    Nous reviendrons avec plaisir!

  • Total luxury! This riad is so beautiful - thank you so much. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were delicious and the roof terrace was a great place to relax and sunbathe. We really enjoyed a (very quick) dip into the pool -its cold, but that's a good thing!

When you walk into the riad, its such a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the medina - quiet, cool and peaceful. But the Djeema El Fna is only a 10 min (or less) walk away!

I would recommend the transfer from the edge of the medina to the riad with one of the luggage carriers as well. It's very easy to get lost in Marrakech and for the sake of 20 dirhams (£1.50 ish) save yourself the hassle and get someone to show you the way!

You won't regret staying here - its wonderful!

  • We had an amazing trip and the stay at the Riad was excellent. The room, the terrace upstairs where one could relax while sunbathing or reading a book or else have breakfast, the hosts were great, the location is superb in the Medina, only positive things...
    We highly recommend it!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the lovely Riad Selouane. The location was great, in the medina but tucked away in a quiet spot. We referred to it as our Oasis of Calm. The breakfast was excellent, the rooms clean and beautifully decorated. But what made our stay extra special was the wonderful staff who really took care of us especially Nouri who really went out of his way to make us feel at home. We are definitely coming back. Thank you for everything!

  • The Riad is very well located and the staff is incredible! The mysterious, magical and peaceful ambiance is a welcome respite from the noise of the Medina and the souqs. The breakfast of bread, fruit, yoghurt, juice tea and coffee is a wonderful way to start the day. The rooftop patio offers a sunny, quiet spot for writing postcards, watching clouds and birds go by or getting lost in a good book. Many visitors from around the world means interesting conversations over breakfast.

  • My Girlfriend and I traveled for a week through Morocco and stayed at 4 different places.
Riad Selouane was our home for 2 nights and certainly the most pleasant and best equipped Riad we got to see with very friendly staff. It really has a dream like charm and is basically the place you want to bring somebody you like to impress.
If I’d do this trip again I would certainly cut out a few of the “must see” (TM) things in favor for a bit of dangling at this Riad.
