In september 2012 famous italian director Paolo Sorrentino shooted his new film ("La Grande Bellezza") in this appartment.

The quarter Salario goes back to 1911, its name comes from the Salaria Way, named so by Romans as it was used to carry salt from the sea to the Sabina region. The architecture of its buildings is elegant and it's a very "green" area: the beautiful Villa Borghese Park with its museums and zoo inside, Villa Torlonia, Villa Paganini and Villa Albani parks.
Besides the Aurelian Walls, there are roman archeological finds as Horti Sallustiani, the grave of the poet Sulpicius Maximus, a hipogean temple, the Lucilio Peto Mausoleum.
Even though it is the smallest quarter in Rome in its area there are many important institutions as Ministries, Universities, Polyclinic, Embassies. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACRO) and many Art Galleries have turned the Salario quarter an artistic point of reference.
The Salario is adjacent to Parioli, Pinciano, Trieste and Nomentano quartersThe apartment is located in central Rome, near (15-20 min. by step or 5 min. by bus) the railway station Termini. The nearest metro station Policlinico (Line B, The blue line), bus stops Nomentana/Regina Margherita and V.le Regina Margherita / Nizza. On the ground floor apartment is located a comfortable family cafe Contrucci. At 100 meters from the house there are 2 supermarkets and the old food market. Restaurants I Butteri, Itoya (Japanese cuisine), Fiesta Y Siesta (Mexican food), Villa Paganini. Sights nearby - Museum of Contemporary Art MACRO, parks, Villa Albani, Villa Torlonia, Villa Borghese.
Every 30 min of late after the agreed time of check in costs 5 euro.

Great communication, great location (only a quick lightrail ride or 10 minute walk from the metro which takes you right to the Termini and Colosseum!) around great food as well, and very generous accommodation for Rome, compared to where most of my friends were staying. Irina was great, I hope to be back!

Irina was very patient and kind with us when we arrived. The apartment was neat and very close within the center of Rome. Just a short walk from the Borghese gardens. She also gives maps and recommendations for food which are both fabulous.

Irina, Was a great host, taking time out of her day to show and explain the highlights of Rome on a Map she provided. I felt very informed and ready to take on the Rome after visiting with Irina.

Do not book an airbnb with Irina. The room is nice however Irina as a host is one of the lowest quality experiences I've ever encountered from a customer service standpoint. My first email exchange with her was me introducing myself and her reply was demanding the number of which train I'd be on multiple times because "99% of tourists are late". Ironically - I arrived to the apartment on time and she ended up arriving 15min late. I was understanding since I get that things happen and sometimes people are late but if the roles were reversed she would have "fined" me multiple euros. She was also late for an old Russian woman and her daughter that were staying at the apartment leaving them outside in the heat so it's clear I wasn't a special case. She'll ask you constantly if you left lights on and threaten to fine you for various reasons. Bothersome, unprofessional, and socially inept.

Irina was really helpful and offered to help in various ways, quick responses over internet. Room was really spacious and clean with high ceilings. The apartment is located in great location and not too far away from termini station.

Irina was wonderful. She was very responsive throughout the whole process, and provided great directions on how to get to the flat. The room was exactly as advertised, very comfortable and clean and perfect for my friend and I to share. Irina was attentive and provided maps and directions and answered any questions we had. I don't think Irina lives in the flat - I believe the other rooms are rented out to other visitors - but this wasn't a problem for us. We had everything we needed. The neighborhood was great, with a gelateria right next door and a bank and two supermarkets just steps away and some nice restaurants in walking distance. Bus and metro station very close by as well. Highly recommended!
