The quarter Salario goes back to 1911, its name comes from the Salaria Way, named so by Romans as it was used to carry salt from the sea to the Sabina region. The architecture of its buildings is elegant and it's a very "green" area: the beautiful Villa Borghese Park with its museums and zoo inside, Villa Torlonia, Villa Paganini and Villa Albani parks.
Besides the Aurelian Walls, there are roman archeological finds as Horti Sallustiani, the grave of the poet Sulpicius Maximus, a hipogean temple, the Lucilio Peto Mausoleum.
Even though it is the smallest quarter in Rome in its area there are many important institutions as Ministries, Universities, Polyclinic, Embassies. The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACRO) and many Art Galleries have turned the Salario quarter an artistic point of reference.
The Salario is adjacent to Parioli, Pinciano, Trieste and Nomentano quarters.
The apartment is located in central Rome, near (15-20 min. by step or 5 min. by bus) the railway station Termini. The nearest metro station Policlinico (Line B, The blue line), bus stops Nomentana/Regina Margherita and V.le Regina Margherita / Nizza. On the ground floor apartment is located a comfortable family cafe Contrucci. At 100 meters from the house there are 2 supermarkets and the old food market. Restaurants I Butteri, Itoya (Japanese cuisine), Fiesta Y Siesta (Mexican food), Villa Paganini. Sights nearby - Museum of Contemporary Art MACRO, parks, Villa Albani, Villa Torlonia, Villa Borghese.

The apartment is very good. We arrived in the middle of the day and we were welcomed by a friend of Irina. She showed us the apartment and gave us tips how to travel through Rome. It felt like a hotelroom, except this was with a kitchen we could use with 2 other guests. The apartment was placed in a nice neighbourhood with 3 supermarkets and lots of places we could buy coffee and pizza. From our apartment we could walk to a bus station that could take us to termini. Also we could walk to the park: Vila Borghese. Irina showed up the second day and made sure we had a pleasant stay. She was very kind. Even when we just booked the apartment, the contact throughly the airbnb-email went very good. We very much recommend this apartment and would love to stay here the next time we go to Rome.
Irina was very helpful during all our stay at Rome. When we arrive at the place, the room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was not attached to the room, but we had the key, so it was fine. The kitchen is well equipped with toaster, hobs, freezer and fridge. The place is in the first floor and has a small elevator to help with the bags. About the location, it is close to small markets, restaurants, ice cream shops and bus/tram stations. Irina gave us all the necessary explanation about which transportation we should use to reach any place in Rome. She was also always available on Whatsapp to answer our questions. I definitely recommend her place if you are planning to spend some time in Rome!
The place was ok, but our arrival was complicated and the host was not very accommodating
I had an excellent experience staying here. The apt is in a great location that is 30min walking distance at most from the center of Rome. The room is really spacious and has all the necessary amenities, including a safe for documents etc. Irina was very helpful, friendly, and incredibly quick to respond to any questions that I had. She also provided a map of the city with details on how to get around as well as gave me the option to have a private driver pick me up and take me to the airport.
The apartment with spacious rooms was as it appears in the pictures . Well location, not in the center, but well connected and in a good neighborhood with restaurants, cafes and supermarkets all around. I didn´t meet Irina, because she was on a business trip, but she was always very thoughtful and ready to help via text message. His collaborator Eliseo has also been very kind and accommodating.
Irina was wonderful. She was very responsive throughout the whole process, and provided great directions on how to get to the flat. The room was exactly as advertised, very comfortable and clean and perfect for my friend and I to share. Irina was attentive and provided maps and directions and answered any questions we had. I don't think Irina lives in the flat - I believe the other rooms are rented out to other visitors - but this wasn't a problem for us. We had everything we needed. The neighborhood was great, with a gelateria right next door and a bank and two supermarkets just steps away and some nice restaurants in walking distance. Bus and metro station very close by as well. Highly recommended!
