Hitomi is such an awesome lady. It was a pleasure staying at her place. Dinner was excellent too. The location is a little outside the city, but close enough and very easy to find. We even met some other travelers at Hitomi's place. Thank you for having us again.
Hitomi-San place was an excellent lodge to be in if you ever wanna experience Home Stay. Her house is located slightly outskirt of Kyoto where it lies in a quiet town (wow I love it so much). It takes only 5-7mins walk from her place to the train station & it was definitely easy to get by. You can deposit your luggage at her on site parking (car garage) beside her apartment if you are early cos she need to work; definitely safe cos I did that :D.
Do join her for dinner at 7.30pm as she is a superb cook. It was definitely a great experience trying out what a Japanese 手作り料理 could taste like & I really love what she had prepared for her guest. Not only I had wonderful dinner from her, I learn a lot of new words from her too, such as "別腹" haha!!! thank you :)
Also, if she has other guests, everyone would join in the dinner & exchange their experiences during their stay in Japan & you get to meet a lot of new friends. Love it!
Hitomi San can't really convey much in English but she is very helpful to help you get by~ :D I will come back to Kyoto again & I will definitely pop-by here.
My host made me feel welcome, very respectful of privacy but very helpful if asked. She even cooked me dinner after I was thirty minutes late one night. The neighborhood is quiet and suburban and twenty minutes by JR Line from Kyoto Station, a pleasant place to stay and commute from, but no worthy restaurants in the area.
You can't go wrong staying at Hitomi's house. If you really want to see how the average Japanese lives, this is your place. Located slightly outside of Kyoto (about a 15 min easy train ride to the Center), in a quiet neighborhood, 7-11 right around the corner for your easy atm needs, a few cool tiny restaurants in the "downtown" area.
Hitomi is awesome, a working woman who goes to work all day, and cooks you a delicious dinner when she gets home. Her English is limited, but hey, so is my Japanese. Which is why Google translate was invented, and since the wifi at her place is quite good, no problem communicating.
Hitomi goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Thank you Hitomi for a very memorable stay.
It is a very good experience to stay at a Japanese family since I am learning Japanese. Hitomi-san's English is not very good but I think everyone could feel her kindness. The dinner she cooked every night is so good and it is a pity for me to miss one dinner during my 5 nights' stay. She will talk to the guests about their journey during the day. Dinner time is very interesting.
As for the house. The room is big enough and clean. There were a lot of information about Kyoto and the surrounding area ready for you to read. The bathroom and toilet is also quite clean. The room must be cold in winter but the air conditioner works well so it is OK. The neighborhood is quiet and when I lost my way the first night I arrived, the people I asked just took me directly to Hitomi-san's place. The house is close to the JR station and is easy to find. Though it is not in the Kyoto city but it is still very convenient thanks to Japan's transportation.
HITOMI is friendly and helpful !!! Her food is delicious and every evening he prepared dishes always different. The house is very clean and the room is spacious, bright and quiet. Thanks a lot for the stay and see you the next time.
Hitomi was very nice and hospitable. She offers the typical Japanese living experience. Loves her cooking too!
It was a pity that my stay was too short. Would love to go back again.
