Thank you for our stay. Lisele was very welcoming and willing to help with any question we had. The area is surrounded by small eateries, bars, etc. We walked to everything. Atlantic station and the Barclays center is also very close. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard and meeting other guests. thank you!

Community be Good has many strict - explicit and implicit - rules. If you care more about simply making things work rather than following the many notes on which all the rules are written, this place might not work for you. Also, if you feel like certain views or personal considerations don't necessarily need to be expressly addressed, you might get in trouble or be judged "passive", as the host is an extrovert (i.e. insists that most feelings, thoughts, and assumptions be verbally explicit) and values communication a great deal. We had a hard time following every rule to the letter, and were blamed for that. Finally, our schedule wasn't matching the habits of the community, which made our stay even more uncomfortable. To be fair, Lisel tried to find compromises on several occasions and was generally amenable.

Lisel's brownstone is in a great area in Brooklyn. A lot of nice shops and restaurants are just a couple of minutes away, Manhattan is easily accessible with the 2, 3, B and D subway lines from nearby stops. The best aspect is the enormous collection of books that fill Lisel's house: I noted down quite a few titles that I want to read. The room was very spacious, the bed comfortable. The area is quite silent for NYC. Other reviewers complained about thin walls, but I heard nothing from other tenants and I'll be often awake at night due to jet leg. It was my first experience with AirBNB and I am quite satisfied. Next time I'll be in NYC for work, I'll ditch expensive Manhattan hotels for a room in a place like Lisel's again.
