The Space

Come feel at home in our outdoor common area, chat with other guests while enjoying a cooked breakfast with fresh fruit, and delicious Costa Rican Coffee or a selection of fine Tea. Lounge by our Pool or relax in our Jacuzzi with a cool beverage after a full day of exploring and tropical adventures, or just sit back and be immersed in sights and sounds of the local tropical rhythm. We have many different colorful Birds and Iguanas also you might possibly be entertained by a Troop of Monkeys who occasionally drop by looking for a meal.

Let us know if you have any special needs and we will do our very best to accommodate.

Guest Access

All rooms have private access. Cable TV is available in our lounge area, Wi-Fi is complimentary and password will be provided at check-in.

Interaction with Guests

We live on the property and pleased to offer recommendations for places to eat, and things to do in the area such as the National Park and Adventure Tours.

The Neighborhood

In an international survey, Manuel Antonio was recognized by Forbes Magazine in 2013 as one the most beautiful National Parks. We couldn't agree more.

Getting around

The local public bus is inexpensive and stops just outside our gate with service every 30 minutes from 6am - 7pm, then hourly until the last bus at 10pm. Taxi service is available 24 hours-a-day and can be flagged down anywhere on the road.

Other Things to Note

Guest reviews on Trip Advisor rate their stay with us as excellent. We are a fully restored Spanish Colonial property located near the road to Manuel Antonio National Park which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Costa Rica. While we have done considerable modifications to minimize ambient noise with new windows, doors and A/C with the compressor mounted outside, however guests who are sensitive to noise should be aware of this.

  • Coyaba Tropical B&B was our introduction to the many wonders of beautiful Costa Rica and what an introduction it was. Mike and Paul are the perfect hosts, welcoming and mellow, while unobtrusively tending to every one of needs and all other details with grace and kindness. They have created a gloriously landscaped and relaxing tropical setting under a jungle hill, with a lovely pool and jacuzzi for ironing out the kinks after hours spent exploring the environs of Manuel Antonio. Mike set us up (email hidden) for the park and we saw "muchos animals" through her spotting scope, fabulous. Paul's breakfasts made of fresh local ingredients were delicious and substantial. We especially liked the fried plaintains. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and lovely. The local bus service between Quepos and Manuel Antonio stopped across the street and it was unbelievably cheap and reliable rendering a car unnecessary. Try Z restaurant right next door for a good meal and attentive and friendly service. Best of all we always felt like we were coming "home" after our daily adventures. My husband and I give our highest recommendation and most sincere thanks to our wonderful hosts at Coyaba Tropical B&B.

  • This is the 2nd time I have stayed here. Mike and Paul are continually improving their B&B. It was already perfect the first time I stayed but now with a pool and jacuzzi, it is even more so. They are great hosts and the breakfast is amazing. I will be staying here every time i come and visit Costa Rica. For going to Manuel Antonio, there is no better place to stay.

Thanks for the compliment Kurt, it was a genuine pleasure meeting your wife and daughter on this visit. It has been very satisfying to see each phase of our project coming together... with more changes coming towards achieving our vision. We look forward to seeing you and your family again when you come back to Manuel Antonio.

  • We stayed for 6 nights 9th - 15th December 2011, it was just great. Everything we had read on trip advisor was true. Mike and Paul were perfect hosts, the breakfast was just as we had read - fantastic. The help and local advice from Mike was also very helpful. The proximity to the National Park was perfect, just a short bus ride. many restaurants were within walking distance.

You will fall in love with Ginger, the pet Jack Russell.

Beaches are ideal, white sand, palm trees, true blue pacicfic ocean.

If it didn't rain most days it would have been the best holiday ever.

Thanks Mike and Paul for making our stay so enjoyable.

  • Mike was a really great host. He was very easy to contact and provided tons of advice on the many things to do and see in the area. He even called up some of the tour providers and signed me up for some great tours. His recommendations were great! The room was like a 5 star hotel room. It was decorated very nicely, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying there and would stay there again the next time I am in the area.
