Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests but we try not to get in your way. As you let yourselves in and are self sufficient, some times we don't run into each other. It's a simple phone call if you have any needs or questions!
Close enough to all the action but far enough away to feel like home. Our reviews say it all!
From the airport, you can take a cab or there is a $2 city bus to the downtown visitor center that gets you a shorter cab ride to us.
Parking is off-street and just outside your door so your car will always be handy.
With our newly added Beach Cruisers, getting around town is even easier!
There is a fun little trolley in town that is or is nearly free although walking is always the best mode of transport in Charleston.
The pedi-cabs (human powered bicycle cabs) are abundant and always around when your feet finally give out!
Cabs are not a common site in the city but are available if you call. And now Uber is alive and well in Charleston.

Great coffee, a nice bottle of wine and a friendly atmosphere - AAAHHH!
Newly added bicycles for your use around town.
Respect the property and surrounding residents.

Have a great stay!
Staying here was absolutely lovely! The place is so nice and big and clean! The bikes were fantastic to scoot around town quicker. You are about a 15 min walk to downtown, but super fast on the bikes! I would go back in a heartbeat!
My wife and I visited Charleston for our 5 year anniversary and the Home Away From Home was excellent. The room was very clean, comfy furniture, and exactly as described. Laurie even left wine for us!
We enjoyed being able to walk many places and go for a jog along the waterfront in the mornings. Beach chairs and towels were a nice touch for our trip out to Folley Beach. When we come back we hope to stay here again and we are recommending to our friends also.
I loved the space! So nice and clean, cozy, comfortable and got great light! I couldn't have asked for a more relaxing stay :)
It truly is "Home away from Home". Morning coffee in the private garden with WIFI is an extra delight. Super clean and cozy with all the comforts of home.
Laurie's a lovely host and you can walk or bike to
everything...the location is perfect!
We have stayed in dozens of Airbnb's and this was one of the best! The location was perfect, the hosts very pleasant, kind, and accomodating and the space was so comfortable! The bed was new and nicer than my own mattress at home! The bathroom and room were spotless and the courtyard in the back was peaceful. Plus being greeted with a bottle of wine and free parking was a plus!
This being our first Airbnb experience we weren't sure what to expect, but all the reviews were spot on. Laurie and her husband were warm and welcoming, a bottle of wine awaited us, and a most comfortable and delightful room. I loved the garden with spring unfolding and birds singing - right outside our sliding glass door was a private oasis. The location was convenient, and bikes and Uber are readily available, so we left our car in the driveway. This worked out so well, we've already reserved another Airbnb lodging for our California trip next month.
About the Host, Laurie
Hi! We've lived in Charleston and SC for 30 years now. We love our city and know that you will too! We've recently retired from our business and are now enjoying sharing our home with guests. When we're not out cruising the Bahamas or traveling other exotic locales, Rob likes to tinker around the yard and enjoys rowing on a local team. Laurie loves to cook, entertain, exercise and wander Charleston. We're both avid members of Dragon Boat Charleston. We have two grown children who also live in Charleston.
