Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests but we try not to get in your way. As you let yourselves in and are self sufficient, some times we don't run into each other. It's a simple phone call if you have any needs or questions!
Close enough to all the action but far enough away to feel like home. Our reviews say it all!
From the airport, you can take a cab or there is a $2 city bus to the downtown visitor center that gets you a shorter cab ride to us.
Parking is off-street and just outside your door so your car will always be handy.
With our newly added Beach Cruisers, getting around town is even easier!
There is a fun little trolley in town that is or is nearly free although walking is always the best mode of transport in Charleston.
The pedi-cabs (human powered bicycle cabs) are abundant and always around when your feet finally give out!
Cabs are not a common site in the city but are available if you call. And now Uber is alive and well in Charleston.
Other Things to Note
Free WiFi (of course!)
Great coffee, a nice bottle of wine and a friendly atmosphere - AAAHHH!
Newly added bicycles for your use around town.
Respect the property and surrounding residents.
No smoking anywhere on the property.
Have a great stay!
We have stayed in dozens of Airbnb's and this was one of the best! The location was perfect, the hosts very pleasant, kind, and accomodating and the space was so comfortable! The bed was new and nicer than my own mattress at home! The bathroom and room were spotless and the courtyard in the back was peaceful. Plus being greeted with a bottle of wine and free parking was a plus!
This being our first Airbnb experience we weren't sure what to expect, but all the reviews were spot on. Laurie and her husband were warm and welcoming, a bottle of wine awaited us, and a most comfortable and delightful room. I loved the garden with spring unfolding and birds singing - right outside our sliding glass door was a private oasis. The location was convenient, and bikes and Uber are readily available, so we left our car in the driveway. This worked out so well, we've already reserved another Airbnb lodging for our California trip next month.
My daughter and I spent 4 nights in this beautiful, comfortable and private space and were thrilled with the accommodation. Laurie and Rob were welcoming and available to help with any need, but completely non-intrusive on our privacy. The room/bath were very clean and nicely decorated, the bed comfortable, and the back garden a very nice addition. The hosts provided coffee, tea and filtered water, as well as a small refrigerator and microwave for our use. Laurie even left us a bottle of wine to enjoy. Their home is within easy walking distance of historic downtown Charleston and only 2 blocks from a great walk/run route along Murray Blvd. and South Battery bordering the Ashley River and the harbor. There are also bikes, beach towels and chairs available for the use of guests. Home Away from Home is a special and reasonably priced option if you are traveling to Charleston. I highly recommend it!
I absolutely loved this place. It was so comfy and beautiful. Loved the patio outside the room too! Would highly recommend this place!
My fiancé and I loved this place! It was a very close walking distance to downtown and most of the things we wanted to see. The room was very nice and spacious. Laurie and Rob were gracious hosts and definitely made us feel welcome.
Laurie and Rob were very warm and friendly hosts. They are longtime residents of Charleston and made some great restaurant/sightseeing recommendations for the weekend. Room was very clean and comfortable with secure parking area and quaint patio on the the rear of the guest house. Great location! Will definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family!
Laurie and Rob's place was great! Clean, modern, comfortable, cozy and private. This was our first time trying Airb&b and we weren't sure what to expect, but their place exceeded our expectations. The location was great, and all the personal touches were even better. We recommend "home away from home" 1000%. Thanks Laurie and Rob!
Hi! We've lived in Charleston and SC for 30 years now. We love our city and know that you will too! We've recently retired from our business and are now enjoying sharing our home with guests. When we're not out cruising the Bahamas or traveling other exotic locales, Rob likes to tinker around the yard and enjoys rowing on a local team. Laurie loves to cook, entertain, exercise and wander Charleston. We're both avid members of Dragon Boat Charleston. We have two grown children who also live in Charleston. We've look forward to adding you to our list of satisfied customers!
