Interaction with Guests
We love to meet our guests but we try not to get in your way. As you let yourselves in and are self sufficient, some times we don't run into each other. It's a simple phone call if you have any needs or questions!
Close enough to all the action but far enough away to feel like home. Our reviews say it all!
From the airport, you can take a cab or there is a $2 city bus to the downtown visitor center that gets you a shorter cab ride to us.
Parking is off-street and just outside your door so your car will always be handy.
With our newly added Beach Cruisers, getting around town is even easier!
There is a fun little trolley in town that is or is nearly free although walking is always the best mode of transport in Charleston.
The pedi-cabs (human powered bicycle cabs) are abundant and always around when your feet finally give out!
Cabs are not a common site in the city but are available if you call. And now Uber is alive and well in Charleston.

The room was everything we hoped for and more. Laurie and Rob were warm and welcoming, and the room was spotless and so cute and comfy. The wine was a lovely touch, and the bikes would have been amazing if we hadn't come on a rainy weekend. As it was, we were still able to walk all over the town from their location.
Thank you Laurie and Rob for a lovely weekend stay:).
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed staying with Amy. Her space was very conveniently located, well-decorated, and offered us an optimal level of privacy.
Everything was just as promised. Since this was my first experience with Airbnb I didn't really know what to expect but this experience exceeded all expectations. The house is in a quaint part of old Charelston and close to shopping, restaurants, and the City Marina. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Charleston.
We enjoyed our stay at Home Away From Home very much. It was private and our hosts were great! They made us feel comfortable and welcome right away. The room/suite could not have been any nicer. The location was great for us! We walked almost everywhere and felt safe. We would stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone !
This was the perfect space for my stay. I specifically looked for a convenient location to downtown Charleston with its own separate entrance. This fit the bill and it did not disappoint. There is so much to do in Charleston that I didn't even turn on the TV once, so I didn't spend a lot of time there. But the bed was comfy, I felt completely safe and comfortable (I was traveling by myself), and the location was convenient. I would definitely stay again!
This was an awesome place to stay! The owners were so welcoming and the location was great. Easy walk to everything but quiet and relaxing.
What a great space! We felt really fortunate that Laurie and Rob opened up a wonderful space in their home for people who like to travel. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine that started our remarkable stay. Each morning we enjoyed the local coffee they provided as we started our adventure. The location is ideal as we were able to walk to several restaurants and attractions throughout Charleston. Laurie and Rob were extremely friendly which was an added bonus to our trip and they offered recommendations that suited our taste. We look forward to visiting the city again and would undoubtedly recommend this place.
Hi! We've lived in Charleston and SC for 30 years now. We love our city and know that you will too! We've recently retired from our business and are now enjoying sharing our home with guests. When we're not out cruising the Bahamas or traveling other exotic locales, Rob likes to tinker around the yard and enjoys rowing on a local team. Laurie loves to cook, entertain, exercise and wander Charleston. We're both avid members of Dragon Boat Charleston. We have two grown children who also live in Charleston. We've look forward to adding you to our list of satisfied customers!
