This amazing duplex is located in the heart of Portland's most unique neighborhoods. Alberta Arts District always has something unbelievable to look at (people riding bikes while juggling), amazing restaurants to eat at (home to Portland's culinary creativity), fun pubs to have a drink (locally brewed beers won't disappoint), and loads of independent stores to purchase gifts (adorable dresses, funky jewelry, await you). The best part is the house is in the heart of the area. It's the location you hope to get when book a vacation rental. Walking distance to all on Alberta, 15 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes to the heart of the city. There bus stop is a block away making public transportation a breeze. If you have a car there is a parking spot that comes with the house and there is also free off street parking all around.
One major perk about renting this house is the coupons our lovely neighbors have shared for our guests. Frock Boutique, Tin Shed, The Wax Skin Spa, I Am Yoga (bikram yoga studio) Garnish NW Store, Digs Inside and Out, Mimosa Studios, Bin 21, Cork Bottle Shop, Crafty Wonderland....You get discounts to all these wonderful places! So eat, drink and shop- all a stroll away and all at a discounted price!
High Gear (the upper level of the duplex) has 4 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. An open living, dining, and kitchen area. The first floor houses 3 of the bedrooms. 2 with queen beds and the third with a bunk bed (double lower and twin above). The first floor has a full bath with walk in shower. The second floor houses a fourth bedroom, loft area, and full bathroom.
The kitchen is fully stocked from coffee grinder to microwave oven to blender. You will be able to cook up a feast and eat in comfort at the wood dining table adorned with beautiful dishes.

The house had been newly gutted and remodeled using sustainable and local materials, and has inspiring touches throughout the house. It promises to be one of the best vacation rentals in all of Portland. The house was designed only as a vacation rental , it's well thought out for travelers needs, and you won't see personal belongings in closets. The house and linens are professionally cleaned and the house is fanatically maintained!

The house is beautiful and in a wonderful neighborhood! Couldn't have been a better experience - highly recommend!
This is a great house in a great location. Very modern and there was good privacy for the four bedrooms. There was good information about the neighborhood and it's an easy walk to lots of eating options, etc. I'd definitely recommend.
This unit is in a great location in a fun city. There was a big group of us staying and everyone enjoyed themselves. It was easy to get to, check in and check out. Everything we needed was there.
Absolutely loved our stay at High Gear! Very well appointed and a great location. We'll definitely stay here again. Thanks, Michelle!
We heartily recommend this home for anyone wanting to truly experience Portland, especially the Alberta arts neighborhood. The home is clean, spacious and comfy and it easily accommodated our party of 9 in town for our daughters wedding. The home is also easily accessible to all other parts of the Portland area. And, thanks so very much to our gracious host, Michelle. Jan.
We were looking for a house where we could stay during our son's wedding so we could host out of town friends along with ourselves. The house itself is nicely remodeled and served the purpose well. It was a lot of fun bringing our friends together under one roof, and one afternoon to host a brunch for our son, daughter-in-law, and their friends.
Also, the neighborhood (email hidden)ly commercial area, with all sorts of restaurants and other attractions within easy walking distance.
Drawbacks: the house is on a very busy street, with traffic and club noise well into the night.
Also, immediately abutting the house is an old commercial building now being remodeled. Each morning we awoke to the sound of jackhammers and nail guns.
Colourful, chic, artsily decorated house (email hidden)ly neighbourhood street with restaurants, bars, interesting shops and an excellent ice cream parlour, some with large discounts for people who rent this house! Good bus connections and one that goes straight into town. Lovely little porch. And we enjoyed playing with the hackey sacks in the yard outside!
The home is clean, very attractive, spacious, and has all amenities. My family stayed for a wedding week and enjoyed the neighborhood and nearby dining. A welcoming bottle of wine was very kind and all arrangements and information were easy to obtain. Not noted in the airbnb photos is a lovely small playground in the yard which my granddaughter loved. We will definitely stay here again when visiting Portland.
The place was awesome! Such a fun location in Portland and easy to park and walk to restaurants and bars.
My friends and I loved our stay at Michelle's beautiful rental home. It was very comfortable and spacious and in a fantastic neighborhood. Michelle was very accommodating and always had a quick reply to any question. I would definitely rent this house or any other spot from Michelle again and hope to do so in the future.
