  • A truly unique getaway. Carlo is a wonderful host and will provide lots of info for a comfortable and adventurous stay. We also loved being greeted by Billy (his cat) everyday in the garden. We would highly suggest his apartment to anyone looking to enjoy Rome. It is close to shopping, train, and more transportation.

  • Points positifs: Le quartier.

    Buona permanenza a tutti!

  • We stayed in the Carlo appartment 3 nights. He and her girlfriend Eleonora are very interesting and positive people. The apartment located in the Garbatella district, close to the metro station (3-5 min). By metro to the center about 10 minutes, but we walked (is about 30 minutes to the center). Garbatella is very quiet, a lot of restaurants, cafes, and in Saturday there is an active nightlife. The apartment has everything necessary for a comfortable stay, clean. The interior is very authentic and contains a lot of interesting things, especially remember a lighting system, very creative. Every morning we drank coffee in the garden)) Just one disadvantages is the noise of passing trains, but every day we came tired and almost did`t noticed it. The apartment is ideal for creative people. Our trip to Rome was fantastic and stay in the apartment Carlo and Eleanor only strengthen the effect.

  • Communication with Carlo was great from first enquiry to arriving. he and Elanora were there to welcome us. The place is lovely, quirky, and we slept very well. The trains do run all the time (it's the subway track as well as trains) but we got used to it very quickly - they certainly didn't stop us sleeping. I took earplugs but didn't use them. Garbatella was a really interesting area to stay in too, and wandering the streets was a joy - in fact I watched Caro Diario by Nanni Morretti again last night as the beginning is him driving round Garbatella on a Vespa. The bus no 23 is 3 mins walk away and takes you straight to everywhere you want to go too. As long as you are happy figuring out your way about, and don't mind slightly weird & wacky lighting (a bit too bright for me) then I can recommend this place - very good price/size/comfort/location ratio.

  • We had a wonderful time at this unique apartment. Carlo was very generous and helpful and gave us a very warm welcoming. His great recommendations enabled us to experience Rome beyond the famous tourist attractions and get connected with the everyday life in Rome. The location of the apartment is off the center. For us it was the perfect combination of a relaxed non touristy area with a great cafe and ice-cream that is only 5 minutes by metro from all the great attractions.

  • Carlo was a great host! He was very welcoming and accommodating! The apartment was very cute, and a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. We liked the place so much that we ended up staying an extra night!

  • A jump in the past with this really nice apartment! Sometimes the silence is broken by the trains and mosquitoes inside but the apt is really nice and cozy!

  • Carlo's place is a unique treasure. Hidden in a wild garden on the top of Garbatella you enter through your terrace an appartment like in a village house with a mix of history and modernity inside. Everything is very personal and practical at once, and from the espresso cups to the colourful cable system things have a special touch. But most important all things you need for a cosy stay are there: a big and beautiful country kitchen well equiped (even with fresh coffee powder!) and a bathroom with a powerful shower.

Carlo is a very gentle and witty host who gives you all the information you need, from his world wide travels to the secrets of Garbatella, an impressing and authentic workers village with typical bars and trattorias. If you want some more nightlife, you can take a walk down to the Tiber river, where you find some bars and restaurants on the way to the city.

Yeah, people with a light sleep and demand for silence at all would mind the trains passing nearby, but as a trainspotter I liked to view them from the end of the garden. Unfortunately I could only stay for one night, but I am looking forward to come back for a longer time to discover the place and area deeper.
