Riad sherazade is clean and elegant. Well situated in the heart of the Medina it allows to reach the main attractions very easily. Breakfast is generous.
We had a great time at the riad. It was my second time visiting and it was as nice as the first. The staff are very attentive and kind and the riad is in such a good position for popping out to the souks and popping back to cool off and get some calm every now and again. I would highly recommend this riad.
Collected from the airport as arranged. No refreshments on arrival but it was 11.00pm. Room was clean and a radiator was provided as it was cold in the mornings and evenings. Marrakech is a real experience and a riad is the perfect place to stay. If we visited again I think we would pay a little more and go slightly up-market. Went on a memorable trip to the Atlas Mountains to see the waterfalls but you need proper footwear and to be reasonably fit as it is steep. The roof-top terrace was lovely and even though we went 2nd-6th February 2014 the temperatures reached 26 degrees. Everyone we met seemed to have got lost as it is a maze of narrow streets filled with stalls, mopeds, donkeys, bicycles and people. If you stop to look at a map people offer to show you the way but they all expect to be tipped. We felt safe and most people are friendly. You do have to be careful of the traffic as it is chaotic. There are loads of souks to explore. Had a nice meal with wine at the Palais Donab. The rooftop terraces are a must in the Medina and the freshly squeezed orange juice is delicious. We enjoyed all of our meals and would visit the city again.
Really enjoyed staying here. Marrakech felt like hard work sometimes, and it was nice to be able to retreat back to the Riad to take it easy and unwind.
Clean, air-conditioned rooms, complete with safe and good storage, great bathroom and some lovely staff on-hand when needed (hello Mustapha - really nice chatting with you!).
Bed was a bit hard, but that'll be a plus to as many as it was a minus to us (maybe we're spoilt at home).
The place felt less like an Airbnb place and more like a boutique hotel/riad, but again, that will be a plus to many, as it made for a more curated place to stay (the bed was made, things cleaned etc.).
Great breakfasts each morning and local knowledge supplied whenever desired.
Have you ever had a DAY-DREAM?
That's how we felt in the morning, when we woke up.
You stop sleeping, but your dreams go on. The Riad Selouane is just wonderful. We lived in the room "Sherazade".
The room is lovely, romantic and cozy. The bathroom is big, clean and like the bed/living-room really lovely decorated.
The big windows with the view to the patio gave the room a perfect, warm light.
The roof-top-terrace was a dream at all times of the day. In the morning you had the warm sun, in the night, the beautiful spangled sky of Morocco.
We started our day with the included, typical moroccan breakfast.
Coffee - Tea-Fresh maroccan orange-juice - jam - pancakes - honey...
Afterwards we enjoyed the hot sun on the roof ( In February!!!) till afternoon.
The room was always tidied up and cleaned when we came down from the terrace.
The "concierge" Nuri was always there if we had any question and cared for us.
Mustafa, the night-guard, kept us safe and cared for us in the night-time. But don't worry, there's nothing to worry about in Marrakesh.
Marrakesh and the Riad Selouane are the perfect trip, if you want to escape the cold seasons in Germany & Co.
By the way: the central is really central. 8 Minutes to Djamma el Fna.
Believe your eyes and calm down here!
Definitly not the last visit for me!!
P.S. There is a lovely TV-room with fireplace and so lovely moroccan decorated...but honestly?! Who needs that if you have the stars above, and the dream under your feets? ;-)
le Riad est en très bon état et propre. il est très bien placé, à 5 minutes de tout! la cuisine est très bonne, s'est un régale de s'installer à table.
L'équipe est chaleureuse, acueillante et très disponible.
Merci pour tout.
